Nope, not worth the money, bracelet isn't great and the small seconds doesn't suit this style of watch, thr previous model on leather and rubber looks way better, the Aqua terra shouldn't cost more than 3.5 - £4k

    • @BarkandJack
      @BarkandJack  2 ปีที่แล้ว +20

@@terryfenner8142 I think Omega are heavily trying to increase their perception of luxury. Their price is an easy way of doing that. A cheaper quartz watch might be seen as "cheapening" the brand. This is one of the reasons I love Grand Seiko, they have the confidence to do it. But then again, they have their in-house 9F movement, whereas Omega used an ETA quartz movement, which isn't strictly in-house. I too would love to see them bring it back. Breitling has some awesome quartz watches.

I’ve had the 38mm Aqua Terra cal 8800 for about a year, and I actually love the quick date function over the quick hour (the only functional difference between the 38mm and 41mm versions). It is more practical if you don’t wear your watch for a couple days and need to more quickly set the date.
Otherwise fully agree, it’s a great watch you never grow out of, and the design/movement is brilliant. Cheers Adrian! Thanks for showing this stunner

    Well done, thanks for reviewing,
As an owner of the 8900 version of this, your review compliments my thoughts.
One thing I would like to add here is Omega's choice of diverse colours in the range of small seconds, not just on the dial but the rubber straps that compliment them. This reflects itself across the line of the small seconds and especially into the Sedna gold versions where I think the blue dial and rubber strap really shine.

Not keen on the Seamaster 300 frankly, but the Aqua Terra 41, original or small seconds, is in a class of its own. The time zone function is particularly useful, especially for us here in England. To clarify, I think this watch is excellent. 😀

I went into the Omega retailer recently to check out this exact watch. I’m not sure if this was just my personal experience but they were freely willing to knock off 300 from the price with little negotiation. Something to perhaps bare in mind with the price tag. Saw it at the Geneva boutique yesterday, and love it. But have the 2503.80 and the black Millie already...

My big gripe with the AT is the bracelet not having any sort of micro adjust. Vacheron has the little 2mm adjust on each side of the butterfly on the overseas, I realize it is a much more expensive watch but omega should be flexing that swatch group money.

Really interesting. My wife and I have a big anniversary coming up, and we did some watch shopping over the weekend. We were originally going primarily to see the SMP 300m, but her comment to me was that it looked like all of my other watches (I have a 14060m, a Dox Sub 300, and a smattering of other dive watches). She immediately went to the AT and loved it. I always have admired it as well. It's a tough choice because I do love dive watches, but since this would be a monumental gift, I think having something that is super versatile and unlike anything else I have would be really nice. I've had a 39mm OP and 39MM Explorer before, and kind of miss having a really straightforward classic watch.

And, totally worth it. I love my blue dial piece!

Can’t decide between this in blue on rubber strap or speedmaster on the new bracelet? Decisions decisions. Will be my first luxury Swiss watch. Needs to fit casual and smart settings.
    Any suggestions guys?
Speedy is my fav watch but with my wrist size going up and down all week the rubber be the only one to suit me.
Great review and thanks for your brilliant ongoing content. And thanks to the watch community/fans.

Because I have a plantation I would choose the aqua terra. But for me the day date version is the one still looking around to pick one of those up.

That thing is jaw dropping gorgeous… the watch of 2021 IMHO followed closely by the ORIS big crown pointer date Calibre 403… 👌🏻

    Nice video as usual, Adrian!
I have one, top notch finishing, and yes Omega Caliber 89xx with isolated hour hand is superb function.
Anyway, I think the lug to lug should be 47-48 mm, not 52.

Came close to buying an AT so many times, but just can't get over the hour hand. Looks like it's been cut off at the end, it just bothers me a little too much unfortunately. Great video.

I really like this AT with white dial! I'm not giving up my SMP to get one, but it could definitely be an addition to the collection in the near future. It's looking like it'll be this one or the Cartier Santos medium or large.

Looking hard at this watch. I tried on an Aqua Terra and loved it. Tried on the 300, which I was there to buy, and hated the bracelet. I know I can switch that out but wanting a steel bracelet sport watch.

Hmmmm well it’s nice. Looks a little like a cartoon monster!!! Those indexes are the teeth! Can’t stop seeing it now!;) There’s a military essence in this watch which I do love!
This is a great shout for an alternative to those wanting a 39 Explorer for sure Adrian!
Give me a broadsword handset and I think I’d be interested;) great show as always

Great addition to the video range… What about the AQ Worldtimer GMT - ‘Yay’ or ‘Nay’?
