I am really thankful that i found this video. It was one of the clearer and understandable videos about zipper installation i've found on youtube and how-tos. Plenty of others seem to start off "quite clear and understandable" and soon trails off for more experienced ears. Gotta get me this machine as well.
Great application. I’ve obviously been putting in zippers the “hard” way with mediocre results. If only we were taught properly the first time, the headaches we could save ourselves. Kudos. Can’t imagine how simple your method is for inserting invisible zippers.
Perfect! Great tutorial without silly music, too loud music or other distracting noise etc. Camera work was perfect too! Thank you thank you for taking the time to make this tutorial!
I really want to say that ,this is one of the best channels in YOU TUBE which deserve a million views because it is so professional and so informative in a short of time nobody can get bored from learning. Just hitting the subject without extra speech and wasting the viewers’ time. Big thanks
I love you Sailrite. Your instructions on all your cushion videos have helped me to become a much better upholstery seamstress. Thank you kind folks!!!😘
@@SailriteDIY This is perfect for my ski covers at www.epicskibike.com/ski-covers.html I've just switched to #8 coil zipper tape as it is a bit beefier for the application.

Thanks Eric I tried to install a zipper earlier today but ran into a little trouble. Your instructions were great I just didn’t have my zipper centered. It hasn’t set me back too far I will just have to try it again. You are doing a great job. Thank you.
I have NEVER used zippers since my failure in 9th grade home economics. Your video has been so GOOD that I went out bought one and am going to make a pocketbook with a zipper closure! Thank You for such great instructions and clarity! PS I am 64 years old now!
I made a nap mat cover for my daughter this week and used your video to learn how to correctly install a zipper! Thank you sooo much for a clear, concise and easy to follow video for us beginners! TH-cam has taught me everything I know about sewing and your video is part of that journey! Thank you for your time!
BRILLIANT! This is the best "zipper" installment I have ever seen. Thank you. Also, I feel silly...but I have been using my seam ripper upside down. :-0 Love your videos.
It is called a walking foot because it walks on the fabric. You can order one online, but you need to inform the seller of your brand of sewing machine and the model number because they are manufactured for both the industrial as well as domestic machines. That is why you must be specific when ordering to ensure you will be receiving the correct one for your particular machine.😊🧵
Thank you! This is a wonderful technique and works really well. Love all your videos. Before I found your Videos I never heard of your machine. I am a happy owner of your lsz1 now and thanks to your monsterwheel it is really fun
Yes this also works if you have a shorter zipper than your fabric is wide, go ahead and sew the two pieces together like he shows in the beginning, but only cut the length of the zipper you need, even a little shorter than your zipper is. I flat ironed it to make it easier to sew. Proceed as shown, but sew all around the zipper. Keep the guide on the zipper from the get go. And voila. Rip it open from the other side and there you go. Oh and make sure when you sew the zipper in, the zipper needs to be facing down.
wonderful! you do explain so well I've just watched from the first one up to and inc this zipper one ...next piping?? but tea time is a calling ...thanks .

Hi. I'm really glad that I have came across your videos. They've really made sewing seem simple. I have been so intimidated by sewing for a long time, but I've always wanted to learn how. You really do a good job with explaining every step. I have a question I'm interested in learning how to sew the zippers that show on the outside. You know how they're making things nowadays. You may seem them like that on shirts and dresses with the zipper showing? Would you just face zipper up instead of down?
Thanks for the positive comments! If you want the zipper to be exposed you would sew it on one side at a time. Still create a hem on the fabric, but then lay the half of the zipper over the hem so the teeth of the zipper are exposed or right up against the folded hem. Then sew it down and repeat the process for the opposite side.
It comes standard on the Sailrite Ultrafeed Click here for a link to that sewing machine: www.sailrite.com/Sailrite-Ultrafeed-LSZ-1-PLUS-Walking-Foot-Sewing-Machine
I've sewn for years and always avoided zips, but this method has shown how easy it can be! Thank you Eric and Sailrite 😃
