❤ such a lovely duo, MCC and JJ (RIP). This song is an example of how staying “in the pocket” just behind a steady driving beat is so catchy and full of energy. Tom Petty is another example of that. Love this song, it popped in my head today and had to come listen. Pleasure to watch.
Quittin Time as an upbeat arrangement with your dear friend JJ was well done back in the day . When you took this to àn unplugged slower tempo in your Songs From Home series it had a very heavy and sad feel to it. Amazing what music can do to words. Hope you and now Angus are taking good care as we are well into 1 year of this covid pandemic with so many mutated variants hitting younger population. Stay safe and remain mighty.😷🇨🇦
I LOVE HER!! ❤❤ I did get to see her in concert in Peekskill, NY (about an hour north of New York City in the lower Hudson Valley) many years ago. I remember that show like yesterday. AWESOME!! ❤❤
Well ... actually Loretta Lynn is next in line for "Queen of Country Music " ... don't misunderstand me ... I absolutely love Mary Chapin Carpenter... but Loretta Lynn is Queen!
I still prefer this version of Quitting Time: in fact, I think it's one of Chapin's best songs. I don't like the song slowed down; it loses all its oomph--and she has plenty of other ballads in her quiver. This song is more effective like this, in its original tempo, with those great background vocals.
it mudt have been close to the divorce of her ex junkie football husband. the pain of quitting time. she wrote from an allison ktause vociniy of the heart.
She is now the most musical poet who will be played forever.
Since Nanci Griffith died, yeah.
She didn't write this.
Thanks Mary! For democracy & humanity’s sake VOTE BLUE💙
Holy cow! You and John were such youngsters back then! Miss him so much! This is one of my all time favorites! 💜
My absolute FAVORITE artist; just love her!
I have loved your music since I was 12 or 13. I am 44 now, I know you won’t see this but I appreciate you and your song writing

Wow, you know this is dated when you see (R.I.P) John Jennings with long hair! What an excellent side man to a gifted singer/writer.
Where is he?

I’ve never heard that song before, I think that was excellent.👍👍
Man, I was 19 when this song came out, used to crank this one up really loud!!
Great song and great voice.
Great song.
Music aging like a fine wine. Love it!
Wonderful. Goose bumps.
Amazing voice, that girl can sure sing. None of these "artists" can come close these days to all of these classics. She's at the top of her game.
I saw her in concert in Peekskill, New York State many years ago. 👍👍👍👍😍😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️❤️
I have followed Mary Chapin Carpenter from the start and this a beautiful song. 🎵 Love ya'. 🏴🤠👍

Once Tammy Wynette left us, Mary Chapin became the Queen of Country Music!!!!!!

Ok so she’s the Duchess of Country Music, bet she’s happy with that!
Always thought of her as a folk singer

I’m surprised the editors let the top of the screen be like this. Edit it up a bit - the entire screen.

Are you thinking of Sara Evans? Mary Chapin didnt get until later in life and her husband had nothing to do with football.
Vocals Are Better At The Tullride 91 Show
I thought - what kind of comment is this? I did look up the show…. Its good! th-cam.com/video/h6WnerfNAXY/w-d-xo.html
@@thebuffaloboyz you are right, the Telluride version is really good.
Lip-synched? Too perfectly like the album?
No way.
The version from Party Doll is much better
Believe me or not
I believe it. I loved the studio version, but then I heard her bring it down live, and I never wanted to hear this version again. Still brings chills.
