This, I don't believe, would happen with Bernie as he consults with top economic advisors (e.g. Stephanie Kelton). Plus, with crises like climate change cannot wait and so need urgent spending to fix as soon as possible. The vast majority of citizens wanted to keep internet neutrality and they also wanted background checks for purchasing guns. Internet neutrality was repealed and background checks legislation is stuck in Congress. When a government goes against the wishes of its citizens it is no longer a democracy.

I was so into her speech I didn't even noticed there was background music playing until I read some of the comments. I guess is a matter of establishing priorities and paying attention to what's really important.
climate crisis is something each individual can help combat if the government is not willing to do anything - we need to look at our lifestyle and make a commitment to making effective changes to help reduce our carbon footprint - it might be inconvenient at first but we need to do this for our planet, future generations, other species in danger of extinction and our ecosystems
here are some “easy” ones
1) stop supporting factory farming 2) drink plant milk instead of dairy milk 3) use products that do not contain any chemicals or plastic/plastic beads 4) refuse to use/buy products with excessive packaging 5) practice low waste/zero waste 6) do bulk shopping by using your own containers and produce bags 7) refuse single use plastic 8) support environmental organizations 9) express your concerns to your representatives and senators 10) compost food waste 11) refuse, reduce, re-use and recycle plastic 12) use your own water bottles instead of buying bottled water 13) get commuter traveler mugs instead of using single use cups at starbucks (any coffee shop) 14) refuse single use plastic cutlery and condiment packets when getting to-go food orders 15) reduce or eliminate meat, seafood, dairy, egg consumption 16) refuse plastic straws 17) do not let plastic or mylar balloons fly away as this could easily kill birds or wildlife (they eat and swallow them and it will be stuck in their bodies resulting in a slow painful death)
these are very simple and effective ways to do to minimize individual carbon footprint and there are a lot more!
we have to collectively reduce our carbon footprint bc the government wont do anything bc it will slow down a capitalist society that is greedy, destructive and exploitative.

@Bob N there are many factors that are connected to climate change, most of which have no links to humans. Climate change has been happening since the formation of our planet and will continue until it ceases to exist. No scientist would disagree with that. I believe that the 'natural' factors contributing to the entropy we perceive as climate, like solar activity, the spin and tilt of the planet, volcanic activity, the ebb and flow of all organisms, the oceans, and countless other factors, big and small, will always be the dominant factors in aggregate affecting climate. But look at how humans have affected many of these factors. It's not just that we're burning massive amounts of fossil fuels, changing the natural composition of the air and atmosphere. It's not just that we've interrupted countless ecosystems, annihilating unimaginable numbers of entire species directly and indirectly. It's not just that we're mining, concentrating, and creating forms of radiation that we rain on each other for power, greed, and even defense. It's not just that we've changed the air, water and soil to forever include microplastics. It's the sum of all these things and more that affect our footprint on this planet, and the climate is affected by every factor. Entropy on this planet is a massive scale. With so many factors affecting each side of that scale in a delicate balance, it doesn't take something massive to tip that scale one way or the other. To put it another way; our presence isn't all the bails of hay loaded atop the camel, we're the last straw that's breaking the camels back.

Not only would I pass her with an A+, but I'd also encourage her to continue writing and public speaking. Political office is exactly where she belongs. You say that our greatest move is one that aligns with science, yet ZERO scientific studies show that a 10 year timeframe to complete an energy transition in the USA is feasible.
In actuality if you were to even attempt this you would have to eliminate the majority of environmental regulations as they would in their current implementation make construction in that timeframe impossible (however I would not recommend this if the entire point of this transition is to decrease pollution)
So it would seem your comment contradicts her plans
