I did a version of this ride with my son (57) when I was 82. We started in Largs and over two days went via Arran Lochranza, Claonaig Tarbert, Portavadie and ferry over to Bute. . Finishing back to Largs .Temperature in September was 28. Then we drove down to York. Great son and dad trip
Hi Tom, thanks for commenting on my video. What an amazing trip for you and your son and you got amazing weather too.. There are so many options and I am also planning another trip this year with my wife but at a more leisurely pace so that i can enjoy the surroundings more...
I had wanted to do this route for years and waited until the weather was perfect.. It was amazing that I decided to extend it so i could spend even more time in this stunning location.. Wouldn't it be good if every Summer was like that? :)
@@ianmcilwraith4479 Exactly and that is why I moved over the border all those years ago so I would be able to take full advantage of the occasional glorious day we get!! 😄
Great video mate, coming to Scotland in June from Australia in June and plan to do this ride, so great to see this video. On a good day Scotland is unbeatable
Hi Stefan.. Glad you enjoyed the video. This is definitely the kind route for a day with great weather. Its such a good route and chasing the ferries (not difficult) is great fun.. Hope you enjoy! 😊
the answer to your question - is there an official 5 ferries rout then the answer is yes just look at strava , arriving in brodick and turning left is more the tour of argyle than the 5 ferries

Enjoyed that big lad. Looked a stunning day out
What a day for it. If only we had a few more similar days. I'm from near Ardrossan and go over to Arran all the time. Love the place

@go_explore Aye but then again it's our crazy unpredictable weather that makes Scotland although just a few more glorious days would be great 😁

Hi Stefan. Did you get to do this route, or any others?
Not sure if this is a testament to your cycling or the smooth running of the island ferries?! 🤣
Unlike Scotrail, the ferries were reasonably on time :) Great weather made this trip!
