It's as easy as that... usually equals something going horrendously wrong or at a minimum the gears falling back out and making a beeline for your toes. This will of course be the one day you decided to try wearing flip-flops in the workshop.

Mike I was wondering if there is a certain way to put the high/low selector fork. I was working on my discovery 2 transfer case and I couldn’t seem to get into high. It was very stuck so I retook it out and know I’m wondering if there is a certain way to put the fork in.

I think the High low will only go in one way..

Love watching the rebuild of the LT230 and i have been rebuilding my own following along. I bought the bolt kit from Ashcrofts but i'm struggling to remember what size bolt goes were on the rear housing am i right in thinking its 1 M10x45 and 5 M10x30 so the shank of the bolt sits flush with the inner casing?

I seem to recall there is only one way the bolts go as there is a longer boss on the casting at the top

LR did away with gaskets after the 200Tdi I think

You need a stand for the main casing when the rear parts are connected.
