Gotta agree by far, THE best cop show ever made for TV. For cable (HBO) Ima have to say The Wire is right there with it. I'll go with a Darkhorse cop show, albeit from the 70's....Hawaii Five-O. Monday nights as a little kid, my grandfather used to have me sitting up is his Lazy Boy chair watching with him.
The 80s was the era of the flawed hero. Character so broken by the world that they exist in a moral gray area. It just makes them so relatable and so human. I just love how you can literally feel Crockett's rage and sadness. Plus you can hear and feel how vulnerable he is when he calls his ex to see if the only good thing in his life wasn't a lie. The era when a broken relationship and broken dreams caused sadness not neurosis. We are so desperately running after a certain form of happiness and achèvement that we don’t even know who to grieve anymore. But one doesn’t come without the other.
I just love the way he feels betrayed by his former partner, and later calls his ex-wife to make sure that what they had was a real thing, just moments before he went to bust Calderone and maybe die. This show is good on so many levels, and the music of Phills Collins just make this moment perfect.
I liked this moment because Sonny was still shocked by his former team mate's betrayal to a point of not knowing anymore what was real in his life. It s always painful to find out than those you trusted in were actually a load of bastards. It is quite true to life

@@antoniomitchell1883 That one's an urban legend. Phil Collins says the song is about the pain and grief he felt after divorcing his first wife in 1980.
That part where he calls his ex-wife to ask her if their old relationship was real plays so well with this scene. Realizing how a good friend who he loved and trusted cheated his trust makes him wonder who else close to him has also done the same. This scene gives us the first real insight into Sonny Crockett's character. We see how much he values trust and how sensitive he really is beneath the tough exterior.
Having experienced this firsthand myself -- a significant person/ relationship, one whom I trusted 100% without question, assumed by me to hold the same honor and loyalty and integrity that I held for them, whom was dearly loved as well, betrayed my trust and breached honor and integrity via maliciousness -- Shazam, nor anyone else, couldn't have said it any better. Great scenes like this -- one of the best TV shows ever -- reveal much about the shit that goes on in real life. Not just a script. Whoever wrote in this scene must have experienced this same thing
This is the scene is what made Miami Vice so great. To this day, it remains one of the finest examples EVER of combining visual, spoken words of the actors and music. "In The Air Tonight" was so synonymous with Miami Vice people thought it was the official theme song - Hell: People thought Phil Collins wrote it specifically for Miami Vice! Man, Michael Mann so nailed it with this programme! Almost 30 years later and Miami Vice still looks good!
I’m 45 years old, and I can remember this like it was yesterday! This ranks right up there with Michael Jacksons moonwalk as most memorable 80s moments!!! I will go to my grave with a smile on my face remembering this!!!!!!!
Probably one of the best scenes ever...the acting, editing, song and cinematography was just so awesome. I loved seeing this for the first time and I get excited ever time I see it since then. Just perfect on so many levels
Phil Collins writing about masturbation: "I can feel it coming in the air tonight" How about this loser line: "Give me just one more night I can't wait forever"
Don Johnson was the man. There were very few actors in that era whose on-screen persona was as cool as his--maybe even only one actor: Mickey Rourke. They made a film together, Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man. It didn't do so hot at the box office, though, despite both actors providing solid, charismatic performances. They both had really great characters in that film. But, I think the overall story suffered from a lack of vision and a budget to help bring it together. Still, it's a fun film that sort of holds up to this day, simply because of the two leads. But you can just tell. Compared to Blockbuster behemoths released the same year (like Terminator 2) it just didn't stand a chance.
Prob one of the coolest tv series scenes ever. It just captured everything at its peak. The music, Don Johnson, the car (even though it was fake). Just summed up the 80's so well. A perfect moment.
@@pachord1 Here in Pittsburgh (EST), it aired at 10pm for the first season. Then the producers and network decided to move it to 9pm - to compete with CBS's DALLAS - for the second season. This also opened the 10pm slot up for another Michael Mann-produced show, CRIME STORY.
@Steve Slade It was a great choice by the sound editor. They also obviously overdubbed their lines... or else you'd just hear "HOW MUCH TIME DO WE GOT?" "25 MINUTES" and none of the music.
1980’s. The greatest time to live and the music was fantastic. A simpler life and all the music was so incredible. I still enjoy watching Miami Vice after all these years.
My favorite scene of the series Crockett and Tubbs are rolling through Miami together, Tubbs is loading his shotgun getting ready to roll into battle with Calderone and Crockett has to call his ex wife to find out if his life meant something to somebody. It's the realest scene I've ever seen on tv. I think we all need a Crockett or Tubbs in our lives, someone who has our back no matter what.
I remember watching this like yesterday with my grandpa. It was a must we watch Miami vice. Don't make tv shows that the whole family can enjoy. Good times
When u can stand alone and be confident that's one thing....then u add your partner,/friend,..someone u trust with ur life...then you put the two of u in one of the most amazing pieces of moving sculpture ever made ...in a beautiful warm location....and then u go kick some ass
If there is one thing in life we all face it is the reality of age. Again I find myself listening and watching this clip for the millionth time reflecting the time I lived in South Florida. I miss you Miami Vice.
And again I find myself here watching reflecting that choice in life that brings a fond memory no matter how disappointing or joyous, it is our little peace in this hectic life.
80s feel was real. No breeze, cruise the beach, air guitar, electric keyboard music & think about how lucky you are or things you've missed... No 18-21 yr old girls or boys could understand it now days. They listen to Drake - Kiki in their cars & think life it's just social media & smart phones.
It was May 1985, we had just left the Madonna concert in Austin TX. I looked over at the girl in the passenger seat and she was dozing with a smile on her face. I put the cassette in of Into The Air Tonight and watched the lights go over the hood of my forest green 1979 mustang has we headed north for home. The lights in this scene always take me back to that night and a beautiful girl named Carole. Thank you for posting
Brings back so many memories from back in the day use to watch Miami vice when I was little with my father, rest in peace dad love you see you on the other side one day soon
This was the first time I heard In The Air Tonight and till this day still one of my favorite songs. There were so many great TV shows in the 80s but Miami Vice was definitely one of the best. I was a kid growing up in the 80s and I didn't realize just how good Miami Vice was!!!!
Lord, this video brings back such memories, 1971 fresh out of college, money in my pocket, driving my red 1965 GTO convertible through the city streets late at night(early am) when there was only faint noises in the distance Streets to ourselves. My bestie next to me, but we didn't speak a word- just enjoying the warm summer air running through our hair. We weren't going anywhere, but were not going to stop for anything. Just enjoying the warm air & freedom
Definitely the most memorable scene of the series. Every time that I hear this song on the car radio, it brings a smile and memories from an amazing decade. Music and television has been on a steady decline ever since the 1980s.
No you didn't. A phone was in the car. And people could drive and were....(Responsible! Gasp!) In 2018...I'm surprised you don't have to stop walking if your chewing gum at the same time?!
You needed...wanted to be as cool as them...this set set the standard for every show afterwards...congrats to Phil Collins for getting his song to launch this show into the edge of the universe.
One of my all time favorite shows. I never missed an episode. Took several weekend road trips across the state (from Tampa Bay area) and tracked down the land marks, hit the clubs and had an 80's blast doing it. I wish the entire library could be re released in HD.
This. This is how you convey emotion and show an audience what it takes to be legendary. This isn't film, no its pure art. One of the greatest moments ever filmed.
I always saw a lot of my dad in this show and there hasn't been anything like this before or since. This series had an emotional gravity that has never been duplicated. Characters searching for justice, validation and redemption. Actors speaking on behalf of the Vietnam generation of doers with Michael Mann using bulky cameras as Go-Pros and Jan Hammer laying down tracks that kill. Epic!
So true. It is what sets Michael Mann apart as a director. The effective use of modern music of the time, the camera work, and the flawed and haunted characters, somehow reminiscent samurai movies of old.
The really heartbreaking part of this episode was the full confrontation between Sonny and Scotty. We not only learn that Scotty was the turncoat, but he explains why. Sonny tries to find a way to empathize, even though he still has to bust his former partner. But, he can't. Empathy for a friend's plight is one thing, but betrayal is betrayal. Especially when the betrayal has gotten multiple people killed. Scotty had to go down for what he did, and Sonny had to be the cop to take him down.
Back in the 80s there was no recording tv show so most everyone would wait to watch this on fri nights before they went out to the clubs. i know we did. we would wait and watch this show on fir at 900 then go out to the clubs. this show was the best coolest show back then lol
My friends would come over and we'd watch this before going out. And then I got into "Crime Story" so they'd be pissed because they then had to wait for that to be over too.
Great song. Great TV series. Cool cars, cool clothes, cool background. This is what I imagine when I hear 80's. I love Phil Collins. Yes I'm only 16 years old,but I want 80's bring back.
I was your age when this show was on, it was the coolest, most dope AF show I had ever seen. The coolest music, the coolest cars, the coolest cops....it was really something new and different in its time....hope you enjoy it!
Ales Reif Though I was a kid in the 80s u always felt deep in ur bones it was a special era ,that will never be duplicated....damn I miss the 80s I know the feeling
Remembering as a kid watching all this stuff, the tv shows, films & listening to the charts, thinking to myself in excitement how good this stuff would be when I was older. What new stuff I would love in the future....now I long for the past to be honest.
I really miss this show. Got to see them filming the scene when the helicopter landed on the beach to pick up the girl. We were staying at Fountainebleu in Nov 85.
AHHH, the 80's, in my Trans Am with T-tops, cruising down the interstate,CD stereo blasting, feeling like a BOSS!..Now 2015, driving a Buick with 2 kids, and thinking, Yes-Youth is wasted on the young! How i wish i could go back and relieve my misspent youth!
This was the song of the 80's for me. It was the theme for Miami Vice - darkness and light, excess and poverty, and the inevitability of justice, like the night of Miami. Crockett and Tubbs were like Batman and Superman. The 80's wouldn't be the same without them. Miami wouldn't be the same.
Can’t think of a more epic moment in television from my childhood. Sonny Crockett was my hero and the entire country was emulating him. Pop culture at it’s best.
The shots before they start talking are pretty powerful along with the music. The way Tubbs looks at Sonny, without saying a word, that feeling of empathy ( I feel your pain look) then proceeds to load the shotgun, preparing for the mission ahead. Deep
+Francis Rodrick Funny thing about that scene, it wouldn't be strange to see it for real late night in Miami. Lived there over 40 yrs. and saw plenty of "action" scenes in that time.
+EmperorGluteusMaximus how were they even able to film this , there had to be tons of people around at all hours of the day and night. Maybe they filmed at 4 or 5 in the morning when things started to calm down a bit?
whereyat89 Yes it looks like that way. The scene when they are not stoppinh at the red etc, I am certain thats the assistant director filming without the main cast around.
+Francis Rodrick The "look" Tubbs gives Sonny signifies the empathy Tubbs feels for what must be going through Sonny's mind.Tubbs chooses not to speak on it but rather focus on the business at hand. In that single motion of loading his shotgun , Tubbs states without saying a word that the only people we can and need to trust are right here in this car and in this moment and nothing else matters. The partnership is solidified at that very moment. The production, writing, acting, music, and background shots in this scene set the tone for the series and raised the bar for television series from then on. The best scenes come from what actors do not what they say. Groundbreaking.
I was born in 74. I was the perfect age during the 80s. A boy. All the toys. We used to watch Miami Vice even though we couldn't exactly grasp the entire story line. It was...calling it so cool does it such disservice. You know what I mean. There will never be another time like then. Everything was perfect, and sunny, and happy. I hope heaven looks like the 80s and Crockett and Tubbs are waiting up there with my brother who I miss every day. Love you, Rocko.
Scott Schneider This TV Show is basically what makes me happy in life.. and Phil Collins is just amazing, im only 16 and i say 1980's Movies and TV Shows are better than today's that is my opinion though.
Iconic scene raised the bar in cinematic technique. The haunting music evokes the sense of dread that is palpable for men who might be riding to their deaths. Then the synchronicity of dialogue and music are just impeccable. This scene changed the show from being just another gritty cop drama to something that would help define the eighties.
I’ve never seen Miami vice im only 20 years old but something about this scene the way sonny is driving thinking about life while the music is playing gets to me every time
When he calls Caroline and leaves her hanging. Lol. No stress of getting immediately called back or multiple texts. Screw the internet and cell phones. Ruined so much of what was us. I’m a 1987 high school class.
I am an 80's kid and so proud of it. Today's generation will never understand. Miami Vice and this song was one of the best and will always be my fondest memory of the greatest era...❤
I love everything about this show. The music, the cars, inclusive actors which really seem to match. It fits the 80's but in some ways is also way ahead of its time.
It influences TV dramas to this day. In fact, one thing that can make this show hard to rewatch in the 21st century is the fact that it generated so many tropes and cliches. You have to set that aside and remind yourself that you are watching the show that made it a trope or cliche in the first place.
Simply the greatest song/scene in TV history... driving in the convertible... camera usage... hood shot... side car profile... back to the guys... wind blowing through their hair... road ahead... perfection.
I count my lucky stars I was born in 1972. I got to live my teenage years in the 80's. The 80's was a turning point...music, television, movie, fashion, consumerism and politics made it the last great decade. My friends and I still debate/agree what this decade meant. I'm also a little bias because my formative years transpired in the 80's.
I was born 1970. And I'm so happy that I got to live my teenage years in the 80th as well. I still watch shows on TV with memories of the 80th. And I can sing a lot of songs from that decade. Depot Mode, Duran Duran, Culture Club, Tears for Fears, Phil Collins. A lot changed in the 80th. And again i'm so glad I got to live there during my youth. Falling in love for the first time. Dancing to great music. Great memories to a perfect time.
you old fucks (affectionately). Im 9 years younger, but i still appreciate this. This set the new bar in TV. No one had used anything other than "house music" for their shows from what I can remember (and what my pappy told me). Michael Mann's directing just ooozes style.
Clu TheMan always fight that fight! Im 28 right now and i was wish i was that age around this time...all i have now is these videos and the music to make me feel i was there but when i think of reality and the now i get depressed thinking of how the 80s WAS the last great decade and best in my opinion ....if there ever was a time machine i would easily and without hesitation take a one way trip to the late 70s and just stay there....
How Beautiful is that Spyder Daytona...my god I love that car...the show was amazing...camera work was Incredible...my life was wayyy better then..Thank you Miami Vice...
This video is one of the finest levels of cinematic art ever created. At the time when it first was televised there was nothing that even came close to the level of cinematography and storytelling as Michael Mann and Anthony Yerkovich created in this video. Simply priceless and timeless work of art.
Sometimes I come back to this, it gives me each time a thrill. Back in this time I got my new first Mercedes AMG and I drove to a loop of this tune in my town. Btw, I felt almost cool as Sonny, but I was not. Today I am old, my Mercedes is an Oldtimer. But Sonny is still always young as he was. LES

Michael Mann is the greatest director when it comes to using music in TV or movies. Makes me wonder sometimes if he picks the music before he films or after.
swedishguy83 no worries dude. Michael Mann also directed the best cops and robbers movie ever made. Heat. If u ain't seen it, treat yourself. It's truly epic.
swedishguy83 most definitely one of the best shoot out scenes in a movie ever. It's just so raw. Did u know before they filmed movie the heist actors actually cased out a few banks as if they were going to rob them as prep for the roles. It's also reckoned that people have copied the movie when robbing banks. Life imitating art imitating life 😃
Mann is very good at visuals and music. His scriptwriting can be stilted and in particular emotional relationships and women is pretty poor to awful. Manhunter worked because the relationship with the wife was minimal and mostly unspoken. The best he ever managed was the one between Dollarhyde and the blind woman. Even so, the use of music in the sex scene was awful to the point of proving even Mann isn't perfect with music selection. Heat was just a mess whenever the women were involved with the only strong one being DeNiro's woman, particularly since they didn't talk much and it was a pretty tidy uncomplicated relationship. Collateral again the romance angle was awful. He is at his best when he focuses on the drama of cops and robbers. When he tries to flesh out interpersonal relationship stuff it feels like he doesn't know what real people are like, or how to express it without it being cheesy and cliche. Mann would be better if he collaborated with a writer who could capture the female romance stuff better. Manhunter is the only film I never had a problem with on that front. It was a miracle when you look at his other work.
And this is from the FIRST EPISODE of Miami Vice, this set the tone for the series and the rest did not disappoint.

I wouldn't say most memorable moments. The space shuttle explosion and the Berlin Wall coming down probably outrank this in top moments
Probably one of the best scenes ever...the acting, editing, song and cinematography was just so awesome. I loved seeing this for the first time and I get excited ever time I see it since then. Just perfect on so many levels
This was when actors took their jobs seriously. This is film-quality work
People overlook Don Johnson's acting talent because he's a pretty boy. Dude had chops.
Spot on
no kidding. younger hollywood actors are not nearly as compelling nowadays.
Shows how important music is to a scene. This started it all
Every weekend my brother and I would watch this show! That was 34 yrs ago. Man does time fly.
it makes me sad too
"In the air tonight" makes everything epic. It's such a classic song.
It's the perfect theme song for when you are going into a situation you might not return from
Especially driving at night
Phil Collins writing about masturbation:
"I can feel it coming in the air tonight"
How about this loser line:
"Give me just one more night I can't wait forever"
One of the best scenes on television ever, and I still want that car.
This scene is pure 80's. Don Johnson must have gotten ALL of the women back then. Holy crap.
He was beautiful.
Winston S. you’re right. I think Mickey Rourke is the only other actor of that time who could play Sonny Crockett as well as he (Johnson) did.
He was married to melonie Griffith.
He made it rain panties.
Prob one of the coolest tv series scenes ever. It just captured everything at its peak. The music, Don Johnson, the car (even though it was fake). Just summed up the 80's so well. A perfect moment.
Not a single shot. It cuts quite a bit. You mean sequence.
Yep your correct I meant sequence :-)
this part is amazing. It's one of the best scenes I ever saw in a film or series. Pure 80's.
You so damn right!!!
I have to agree - this scene was just awesome. The song, the car and Tubbs and Crockett ...... just so bad ass!
One of the most brilliant moments in TV history.
Such an epic scene. Everything was right the music, mood, era, the location, people, and the car. Perfect!
The phone call, damn
lol, lol...
NOT THE PART HE CALLING HIS GIRL WHAT ABOUT THE BROTHER
"That part"
Loved the show
..80's still is the best generation
Friday nights at 10pm will never be the same without Miami Vice.
Just Lance That show was my Friday nite date. Loved watching it & great music to boot.
Just Lance you can ca5ch it on Cozi-TV on the local NBC affiliate digital subchannel in your area.
Lol.
I seem to remember that it was on at 9pm PST
@@pachord1 Here in Pittsburgh (EST), it aired at 10pm for the first season. Then the producers and network decided to move it to 9pm - to compete with CBS's DALLAS - for the second season. This also opened the 10pm slot up for another Michael Mann-produced show, CRIME STORY.
And now I have goosebumps. God, I wish I could go back to the 80s
Tubbs is literally riding shotgun
The magic of sound editing. Makes this scene so much more intense. I remember watching this on TV and being blown away.
@Steve Slade It was a great choice by the sound editor.
They also obviously overdubbed their lines... or else you'd just hear "HOW MUCH TIME DO WE GOT?" "25 MINUTES" and none of the music.
Lmao, never put two and two together till now😁
yep that's where the term actually comes from. right seat on stagecoaches, that guy usually carried a short barreled 10 gauge shotgun.
@Steve Slade Thank you for 'loading AND locking'!! Drives me crazy when ppl say lock and load. You cannot "lock" the gun then "load" it!
This scene is pure art. I want to re-watch the whole series over again.
If you didn't live through this wonderful decade you will never know how special it was.
The scene, the car, don johnson, the song, the drum solo, Phil Collins.....this is orgasmic
1980’s. The greatest time to live and the music was fantastic. A simpler life and all the music was so incredible. I still enjoy watching Miami Vice after all these years.
Life wasn't anymore "simple" than it is now. Every decade has its tragedies, challenges, successes and achievements.
This set of scenes/shots was always and is likely the most powerful use of music, light and action ever. It was just... perfect.
you will never be as cool as when Tubbs silently loads the sawed off shot gun.
aliesneo I agree. My friend Kevin, Mr Salem and I were enjoying stone crabs with him a few years back in south Florida and discussing the scene
@@ajcaprio2361 I'm so jealous!!! What was he like?
sandra sanders very nice guy. Looks the same just older.
Good times
Farina Davenport No they sure don't Farina.
+JeffTheDudeAbides Another great show is Breaking Bad. Amazing show.
gjk-2015 Yeah no doubt.
When u can stand alone and be confident that's one thing....then u add your partner,/friend,..someone u trust with ur life...then you put the two of u in one of the most amazing pieces of moving sculpture ever made ...in a beautiful warm location....and then u go kick some ass
Unreal... this is phenomenal. The music, tension this stuff is what made the 80’s so great. Crockett and Tubbs ride or die.
That camera angle of the wheel, when the drums start sums up the 80s very quickly.
Gore Elohim why so?
if you ask you're not from the 80 ahaha
this also sums up the 80s.. 10 years of corny ass shit
Yeah, I always loved that angle. It was essential to many TV shows like Simon & Simon, Magnum, A-Team, Stingray and so on. :-D
Gore Elohim Truth 500%.
If there is one thing in life we all face it is the reality of age. Again I find myself listening and watching this clip for the millionth time reflecting the time I lived in South Florida. I miss you Miami Vice.
jason kefelian Same here but north Florida
And again I find myself here watching reflecting that choice in life that brings a fond memory no matter how disappointing or joyous, it is our little peace in this hectic life.
Nothing more sobering than realizing ones own mortality
I know right!! I never thought being an 80’s kid would me feel old, lol
Same here. The ole man loved this show, and I loved watching it with him.

Same. My dad was a huge fan and so was I.
My condolences!
That's a great tribute to your Dad mate.

One of the coolest looking scenes EVER!!!
Watch Geek agree
compared to what? why do people saying keep saying "one of" what's better? I'd love to see it. It's ok to show, this scene is solid.
When people paid close attention to each other and could judge character pretty accurately.
Definitely the most memorable scene of the series. Every time that I hear this song on the car radio, it brings a smile and memories from an amazing decade. Music and television has been on a steady decline ever since the 1980s.
That's right kids... back in the day we had to pull over to call someone.
Wasn't a phone inside the car?
No you didn't. A phone was in the car. And people could drive and were....(Responsible! Gasp!) In 2018...I'm surprised you don't have to stop walking if your chewing gum at the same time?!
Call someone who, if female, might have big hair.
and we spelled "Bernie's"...."Bernay's". S* was mad AF in the 80s
They dont know nothing about that shit lol.
I love Miami Vice. I think every boy in the ´80 tryed to be like Sunny or Tubbs.
You needed...wanted to be as cool as them...this set set the standard for every show afterwards...congrats to Phil Collins for getting his song to launch this show into the edge of the universe.
The jacket and tee shirt look was born on this show. If you had to wear a tie, it was a skinny one like Huey Lewis had.
I tried growing my hair out like Sonny, but couldn't
Shit, honey even the girls wanted to be them. So BA!
real gangsta!
“You bet it was” - perfect. Damn great series. Beats anything on TV today
Laugh at the 80's all you want, you'll never be cool as this.
Exactly....
One of my all time favorite shows.
I never missed an episode.
Took several weekend road trips across the state (from Tampa Bay area) and tracked down the land marks, hit the clubs and had an 80's blast doing it.
I wish the entire library could be re released in HD.
I never get tired of this scene, not since I first saw it during the premiere back in the day!
If Scotty had only realized that he had friends that were ready to help him it would have never ended like this
Scotty was the dude in the car at the beginning right?
@@jcat8403 yes!!!!
@@johnbaxter1237 only problem is his friends were broke like him 😭
So true and imagine after that that he had to concentrate on taking down Calderone with all that just happened between him and Scotty!
Back in the 80s there was no recording tv show so most everyone would wait to watch this on fri nights before they went out to the clubs. i know we did. we would wait and watch this show on fir at 900 then go out to the clubs. this show was the best coolest show back then lol
Well there was VCR but it was expensive.
YES! we did!
My friends would come over and we'd watch this before going out.
And then I got into "Crime Story" so they'd be pissed because they then had to wait for that to be over too.
In 2011 i literally had classes at the time they re aired miami vice and i recorded it on my vcr hahahaha
I was in high school,we did not go out until 10 after this was over
Great song. Great TV series. Cool cars, cool clothes, cool background. This is what I imagine when I hear 80's. I love Phil Collins. Yes I'm only 16 years old,but I want 80's bring back.

Same here man. Same here!
Sonny Crockett was one of my top fictional male role models as a kid. Ranks right up there with Atticus Finch.
Your apostrophe use at its worst.

The shots before they start talking are pretty powerful along with the music. The way Tubbs looks at Sonny, without saying a word, that feeling of empathy ( I feel your pain look) then proceeds to load the shotgun, preparing for the mission ahead. Deep
Francis Rodrick So cool.
The 80's was the best times in America anyone agree?
I would've loved to have been in my 20's to early 30's in the 80's.
Hehehe. I have romantic memories of the 80's, but i also remember the pure shit.
Drug related violence, Chernobyl, to name a few.
I'd say the 1870s were great

100% truth 80s was the best decade ever
I was born in 74. I was the perfect age during the 80s. A boy. All the toys. We used to watch Miami Vice even though we couldn't exactly grasp the entire story line. It was...calling it so cool does it such disservice. You know what I mean. There will never be another time like then. Everything was perfect, and sunny, and happy. I hope heaven looks like the 80s and Crockett and Tubbs are waiting up there with my brother who I miss every day. Love you, Rocko.
Koolest scene in TV history kids ! Nothing like a mix of Miami Vice cops, Druglords, a whole lot of guns, a kool car, and Phil Collins
Indeed, pal.

The sense of law and order justice and passion alone is worth watching the scene - oh yeah and Phill Collins is just icing on the cake!!!
Scott Schneider This TV Show is basically what makes me happy in life.. and Phil Collins is just amazing, im only 16 and i say 1980's Movies and TV Shows are better than today's that is my opinion though.

Iconic scene raised the bar in cinematic technique.
The haunting music evokes the sense of dread that is palpable for men who might
be riding to their deaths.
Then the synchronicity of dialogue and music are just impeccable.
This scene changed the show from being just another gritty cop drama to something
that would help define the eighties.
It was highly dubbed as being "MTV Cops" though. And to be fair, that's what it kinda was. Lol

They need to release Miami Vice in 4K.
The Blu Ray is close to 4K because the show was filmed on 35 mm film which handled properly looks very much like 4K. The Blu Ray is a good transfer.

Michael Mann is the greatest director when it comes to using music in TV or movies.
Makes me wonder sometimes if he picks the music before he films or after.
swedishguy83 Michael was the producer for the TV show, he also directed the miami vice movie.
swedishguy83 no worries dude.
