to your point, McD has become way more aggressive and has evolved as a HC, but he still seems to be playing checkers when Andy and Spags are playing chess. I think there is something to say for not showing all your cards during the regular season, and even in early playoff games. You have to have lots of magic left for the end of these playoff games, because the teams are so familiar with one another. I think McD just needs to be more creative. He's a pretty rigid personality and it shows in the coaching when against supreme talent and coaching.
Andy Reid and Spags are two of the best coaches possibly in NFL history, not even a bills issue it’s an NFL issue, 31 teams haven’t cracked the code! Bills get the closest every year though!
Let’s be honest, players admitted KC threw things at them they didn’t expect. Bills not prepared and we threw nothing new at them. The coach says “we’ll figure it out”…after 4 years? 😂
This has to be said. On the 4th and 5, it’s the play of the game. The Brady called play AS CALLED was not going to work once the Chiefs lined up. Situational football. Bills had 3 timeouts. “Let’s get this right.” Obvious response… Call Timeout. Coaching failure. It didn’t fail because Josh didn’t shift the O Line coverage.
Agree with calling the Timeout but who knows if Spags switches it up based on how the Bills lineup. They had just come out of the 2 minute warning with lots of time to discuss. Should have been a few plays Josh could have switched to based on what he saw but didn't seem to have that prepared.
I dont know why they rushed to the line...well to keep kc from switching personel but it was a close enough spot that you have to challenge in a game where the sneak hasnt been there.
A lot of finger pointing at McDermott, but I think Beane needs to be held accountable. He’s proven to be very poor selecting in the first and second round. Trading up for Elam and Kincaid, trading back and getting Coleman. Oliver and Rousseau are just OK. The terrible Von Miller contract, giving a 3rd round pick for a washed up Amari Cooper.
At the end of the day, no matter how you feel about the refs, we needed an inch and made the call close. We left it in the ref’s hands. We can't make a 4th and inches close at all if you want to beat the Chiefs. To their defense's credit, It’s been working all year but the Chiefs figured it out and did a better job than anyone to plan for it. It sucks and it’s BS, but it is what it is. With 3 and a half minutes left with the ball in our hands, we needed to do better and we didn’t. I have my opinions on the officiating towards the Chiefs for sure, but we had our opportunities.
Last two possessions the Bills defense hailed the Chiefs to a field goal given the ball back to Josh Allen with almost 4 minutes left on the clock all 3 timeouts. Josh had his moment to "shine" he failed. You can't blame the defense or the head coach for that.....
@@abrahamjackson6019 except he threw a ridiculous pass on a play that had no shot from the snap that any starting NFL receiver should be able to make. If anything the players around him failed him in that moment.
McDermott is a defensive minded coach yet his defense is trash year after year. Consistently breaks down in the playoffs. Let’s get real, Josh is the difference maker, not McDermott. A monkey could coach the Bills to the playoffs with Allen.
Let's be honest, the players he has on defense are also trash though. Elam sucks. Hamlin is average to below average. Von is below average. In addition, the secondary was consistently injured. Milano was out most of the season and returning from a serious injury. I agree McDermott needs improvement, the team was not buttoned up for this game. They immediately went 3 and out and Josh almost threw 2 terrible interceptions. They were clearly nervous. They had dumb penalties, missed tackles and should have run the ball more. These were all coaching issues. He also should have challenged the 3rd down where it was clear the guy (i think kincaid) got the 1st down before the 4th where he also questionably got it.
The Bills have had top defenses under McDermott for years. The breakdown in the playoffs (I agree) is largely about coaching (hello, 13 seconds), but also about player health. In years past, top players have been out in January.
The players we draft day 1 and 2 are almost identical to Day 3 picks. It should say something that we have so many successful day 3 picks, but no impact players day 1 and 2.

We DONT do that. We do what has always worked. And the Chiefs are ready for it. KC could have had all 11 guys in the LG LT gap, and the Bills would have still run the QB sneak there, cuz “it’s worked for us all year” 😮
that's what I don't understand, that play is not working.....so stop calling it! KC had us figured out the whole game, they knew he always went left on 4th and 1. How do our coaches not see all their "tells" in pregame preparation and film study?! Blows my mind.

agreed. the defense seems like the weak link, but I can't help but acknowledge that the Bills and Josh have had the ball late in the 4th quarter twice against the Chiefs in the playoffs and failed to seal the game. I'm not sure what the answer is or who to blame, but for all intents and purposes, the defense did their job against the Chiefs this past weekend.
Elam, Kincaid, Keon all average to miss picks. I guess the jury is still out on Keon and maybe Kincaid but both were supposed to immediately contribute significantly.
The concerning thing about Kincaid isn’t his rookie year, it’s his drop in production/usage this year. Everyone is hoping it’s just injury related but no guarantee it changes next year. Jury out on Coleman but I felt much better about his play and then the playoffs happened. But let’s be real, none of our games had any production from any of the sideline wr. So maybe it’s just scheme and lack of trust. Go bills
The Bills are destined to keep failing unless something actually changes. For a defensive specialist, McDermott gets humbled in the make or break games, it's not always talent or lack of, it literally happens every year and I believe that he is stubborn and will never hire a real defense minded coordinator with a proven track record because his ego says I know defence and I am good enough to scheme against the best teams. Which he isn't capable of. I believe he is a good locker room coach but he is not a tactician. In the end it really comes down to Allen to elevate his game at the most critical moments, is he capable? I am keeping my fingers crossed 🤞.
This GM and Coach have taken them as far as they can. It sounds like they are going to do the same thing as they always do and then will lose to the Chiefs or Ravens or someone next year too. Completely wasting Allen's talent. For Allen to win a Super bowl, he's going to have to go elsewhere. The Bills can't win one with who they have running the show.
Need a pass rush. Oliver is a mid guy. Not a difference maker,. Rousseau epenesa not good. Von taking an all pro pay check to warm the bench. We knew the secondary was in trouble. Corners not good, benford is average. Elam is a bust, Taron is great in his role. But the scheming is horrible.
The 13 second game killed me but I decided to watch again only to see us lose two more times to the Chiefs and one to the Bengals. I didn't even watch the last game because I already knew the outcome beforehand and was gonna be pissed. I just can't stand to watch the Chiefs and I'm definitely not watching even a second of the Super Bowl. No thanks!
Sal Cappuccino essentially works for the Bills. No surprise he doesn’t think coach McDummy isn’t liable most of all in clutch situations. History shows this time and time again. Took me “13”seconds to write this‼️😉
I support coach McD, hell Mike Tomlin has not won a playoff game in years yet is venerated. Hell, we almost beat the Chiefs with AJ Klein covering Kelcie and not having out two best defenders this past Sunday. Everyone needed to be better, coaches and players.
It's amusing how Bills fans want to fire McDermott, Steeler fans want to fire Tomlin, Ravens fans want to fire Harbaugh, 49's fans want to fire Shannahan. Maybe just switch them all around and see what happens. 😅 I'll stick with McDermott and the playoffs.
Firing McDermott would leave you in a massive hole in terms of who you could hire next year. It would be better to broach an idea for a trade for another coach
Sean McDermott Andy Reid and Spags, when all three were together in Philly. History. McDermott learned defense with spags under Jim Johnson. My point is that Andy and Spags know everything about McDermott. McDermott was fired for bad defense. That's the hump we can't get past. There is a relationship. Plus, when we beat chiefs in regular season, we pull out all our cards to do it. They use that for playoff adjustments to beat us. And they study tapes. They don't do the same thing every time.
They do need to retain mack hollins, they need a playmaker on the perimeter of both sides of the ball!! We need someone better than cooper on the outside.
All I can say is Kyler Elam is an awesome corner and it’s all McDermott‘s fault! Fire McDermott, and replace him with Kyler Elam as the coach and play caller of the defense.
The bills do not need a big powerful running back on short yardage they have Josh Allen a quarterback like him adds an additional blocker to the scheme.. handing a ball to a bigger running back loses a blocker
Even if the Bills safety holds on to the ball on the Worthy catch there was still defensive holding on that play which is why Mahomes threw it. Either way Buffalo isn’t getting the ball there
The Chiefs beat teams in Superbowls with much better rosters than the Bills. Players have got to make plays. And Buffalo just don't have enough guys who can do that when it matters. I don't see a problem with McDermott at all (or Josh Allen for that matter).
Not a good convo for Sal. His default mode of defending coaches really showed up here in a bad way. Normally I like how he tries to take the other point of view. But the Bellichek point wasn’t good because of QBs discrepancy, and his point about looking forward how the defense may need to be more agressive going forward is such a bad defend the shield point. I don’t even need to explain how bad of a try to defend the coaches that is. Learning from this game only applies to Brady. Learning from a defensive point is crazy after this many years. Not a learning experience moment, just terrible. Let’s just admit they constantly get out coached. Why are they hiring young coordinators and getting owned every year?
Why bills lost to chiefs 1. Opening drive - Allen bad throws 2. Did not run ball enough 3. Too many tush pushes - no trend breaker 4. Kincaid dropped pass 5. Refs bad spot at first down 6. Cook pathetic pass blocking 7. Allen did not run enough 8. Allen inaccuracy many times 9. Allen dropped snap 10. Chiefs Passing was a perfect day 11. Worthy Contested catch - incomplete 12. Bad and inexperienced Man coverage 13. Benford is out 14. Rapp was out 15. Mistackles 16. No show D Line 17. Chiefs 3 weeks to prepare 18. Lack of team effort except for Dorian Williams 19. Big chief punt return 20. Bad D scheme 21. No imagination on O 22. Bills scored same amount of TD’s and FG’s as chiefs. And despite all this … amazing … still had opportunity to win the game….. eliminate half of those… and bills win in a blow out
McDermott takes a cap strapped talent deficient team to the Championship game looses by 3 to the best team in the league by record and you're calling for his head. Bullshit, get some talent and get ready for next year. By the way, KC's first rounders have been busts as well. The difference Cap Space.
Sean could coach like Andy Reid and have his guys blocking in the back and lining up in the neutral zone but the refs wouldn't allow it. We can all see the tape.
I think the Bills should appreciate how hard it is to sustain success in the NFL. The Chiefs are so damn good from top to bottom and for some damn reason- the rest of the NFL just keeps letting us get away with it. The Chiefs have almost entirely drafted their entire team. The chiefs have 26 major contributors that they originally drafted and many of their free agents are in league minimum contracts. There are at least 5 rookies/UDFA guys that are in the pipeline. Yawl keep trying to do it through free agency. You can’t. Gotta draft great defense and patch together offensive weapons. When you have a great QB that swallows 20 percent of your cap- you can’t pay the olds.

Go bills
Maybe u guys could trade for Xavier worthy lmao
The Bills are destined to keep failing unless something actually changes. For a defensive specialist, McDermott gets humbled in the make or break games, it's not always talent or lack of, it literally happens every year and I believe that he is stubborn and will never hire a real defense minded coordinator with a proven track record because his ego says I know defence and I am good enough to scheme against the best teams. Which he isn't capable of. I believe he is a good locker room coach but he is not a tactician. In the end it really comes down to Allen to elevate his game at the most critical moments, is he capable? I am keeping my fingers crossed 🤞.
Get Spags to coach!!! If cant beat him than hire him
Def resign ty and hollins... and the o line coming back is freaking awesome 👌
Who's fault is that the chiefs scored 24/39 playoff drives, minus 6 kneeldowns! 24/33 drives, 17 touchdowns and 7 field goals! Smh...
I think that one is on Mahomes
@markb3786 dang, didn't know he kicked 7 field goals as well! But I get what u mean!
Brady showed in this game that he’s not ready to be a head coach.
If I were Josh, and the Bills didnt fire McDermott, Id be testing the waters for a trade.
Dumb
Need a pass rush. Oliver is a mid guy. Not a difference maker,. Rousseau epenesa not good. Von taking an all pro pay check to warm the bench. We knew the secondary was in trouble. Corners not good, benford is average. Elam is a bust, Taron is great in his role. But the scheming is horrible.
Hard to understand how a team with all these deficits could have won 15 games this season.
I’m still absolutely devastated we lost. 😢
Took me “13”seconds to write this‼️😉
Andy Reid is literally one of the best in nfl history. No shit he got out coached lol
I support coach McD, hell Mike Tomlin has not won a playoff game in years yet is venerated. Hell, we almost beat the Chiefs with AJ Klein covering Kelcie and not having out two best defenders this past Sunday. Everyone needed to be better, coaches and players.
Out refereed again 😂...
I don’t think you guys understand how bad the defense has been during his tenure as HC in the playoffs…😊
Andy works hard not to put too much on tape during the regular season.
If McDermott ain’t fired I’m done sick and tired of this clown McDermott
The bills do not need a big powerful running back on short yardage they have Josh Allen a quarterback like him adds an additional blocker to the scheme.. handing a ball to a bigger running back loses a blocker
The Bills have spent alot of draft picks on the DL
If you lose cooper wh are back to square one with not enough players. Then they have to add a receiver in draft or free agency.
Then so be it. Cooper was a bust.
It’s easy to get out coached if you have to play against the refs too.
People want to replace Sean because he can’t beat Andy
34 points a game in losses to chiefs. Mcdermitt missed the call on allens last drive in ravens game. All nonsense !! Fire mcdermitt!
I called BS! The regular season against KC…
You wouldn't be crying. The game got corrupted by the Refs.
Why are they hiring young coordinators and getting owned every year?
of course he was. Decisions were atrocious and pretending that the coach is competent is disgraceful
Why bills lost to chiefs
1. Opening drive - Allen bad throws
2. Did not run ball enough
3. Too many tush pushes - no trend breaker
4. Kincaid dropped pass
5. Refs bad spot at first down
6. Cook pathetic pass blocking
7. Allen did not run enough
8. Allen inaccuracy many times
9. Allen dropped snap
10. Chiefs Passing was a perfect day
11. Worthy Contested catch - incomplete
12. Bad and inexperienced Man coverage
13. Benford is out
14. Rapp was out
15. Mistackles
16. No show D Line
17. Chiefs 3 weeks to prepare
18. Lack of team effort except for Dorian Williams
19. Big chief punt return
20. Bad D scheme
21. No imagination on O
22. Bills scored same amount of TD’s and FG’s as chiefs.
And despite all this … amazing … still had opportunity to win the game….. eliminate half of those… and bills win in a blow out
The Bills players deserve better than McDermott if they want to get to the Superbowl it’s obvious he gets out coached
Pagula wont pay a guy like John Gruden super bowl winner, McDermott work's cheap, Sabre's been a joke with OJT GMs working cheap
McDermott takes a cap strapped talent deficient team to the Championship game looses by 3 to the best team in the league by record and you're calling for his head.
Bullshit, get some talent and get ready for next year.
By the way, KC's first rounders have been busts as well. The difference Cap Space.
He needs to get a life and leave the Bills. "Andy Reid and Sean McDermott Happy together" Twelve years working together.
Marty McDermott needs to be fired.
Yep. Generational QB with first ballot HOF coach vs likely HOF QB with good enough coach. Stop the officiating bellyaching.
MATTHEW GOLDEN. i repeat... MATTHEW GOLDEN draft him. that is all. transmission complete.
Out coached in the big game like.....marv levy.
Sean could coach like Andy Reid and have his guys blocking in the back and lining up in the neutral zone but the refs wouldn't allow it. We can all see the tape.
Waa Waa Waa,own it,KC owns you Losers,!😭
When the refs are only one sided, what’s the point in playing great ball. 3 refs FIRED!
The chosen ref team was the Chiefs 2nd worst team in the NFL. Favorable team for the Bills.
Did this guy really just say we need another running back😂😂 we already have Sonic and Knuckles we just don't give them the damn ball.
I know we lost, if we would have won the city would look like Los Angeles😂
