Hey Chris! Solid review, again! I had the original low top versions. They were strapless and they were that color way but they were all that nubuck material. Also had a little window above the outrigger, it there was a fabric underlay that had cross trainer in stitching. These were my first Nikes..I remember my mom finding a coupon to get like $15 bucks off..haha.
Yep. I had the low top strapless version in high school. The original ones didn’t have the cutout with the name stitched in. I thought that the cutout version looked better though. I’ve owned both versions. That are, by far, my favorite sneakers ever. The strapped version were “air trainers” while the strapless version was the “cross trainer” I believe. Great shoes.

The chlorophyll are SUPPOSED to be reissued soon from what I've heard and I HAVE to have them! I was a sophomore in high school (yes, I'm old AF. 🤣) when they originally released and couldn't afford them. They've been on my bucket list since forever!
Well they reissued them in Europe just now. I hope you’ll manage to get a pair! I’m now waiting for mine to arrive. 😍 Feeling like John McEnroe already!
Wow takes me back to childhood.... had a pair of them 80's as well as the lows...(different colorways of course) actually they were my 1st pair of Nike's period. Then 1st pair of Jordan's was the black/ red 6's... made me remember a lot of good times. Thanks 😊

i honestly didnt think i would buy another nike shoe, but i may need to get this. this is one of my favorite shoes ever, i also loved the modernized version they made around 2010/11, those were legit good crosstraining shoes

i was actually never persuaded enough to get a pair of air trainers, back then when they released chlorophyll sb version i was like mehhh. But just last week as i walked into Solebox and saw a staff wearing them, i was super hooked and got me a pair immediately. The photon dust colorway is super super clean
The Air Trainer 1s feature representative was Bo Jackson… Johnny Mac definitely contributed to their popularity while rockin’ em at such huge venue as a Wimbledon’s Grand Slam Championships. I'm in Australia and just bought the black & grey version. I've bought Jordan 1's, Air Force 1's & Cortez's recently and the Air Trainer 1's are easily my favourite. Vintage cool but super comfy & functional. A legit everyday option.

Just got my pair of Chlorophyll Air Trainer 1s and I absolutely Love them! Been waiting for quite a while for them to retro and they finally did, and I am not disappointed. That’s another personal grail sneaker checked off my bucket list.

My roommate 15 years ago had the Air Trainer 1 Pythons (snakeskin), and he used to let me borrow them. My favorite shoes of all time, and I fell in love with Air Trainer 1s. Air Trainer 1s are my "Jordan 1s". I have a bunch of colorways. Please bring back the Pythons!

Man I had some of these back in the day, low top suede and all blue color way fire. I think I might have copped them at a rack room shoes in 98 or 99 lol 🔥🔥🔥 Videos as always .
I got one of the old retros at ross years ago. I wore them to a flight from Miami to Pakistan. I had to take them off halfway during the first plane to Turkey during the 12 hour flight. I wish I had the SB version. Anything SB Is super comfy.
Big difference in comfort I noticed with the Trainer 1 and Legacy 312 series is the strap placement. Trainer 1 has it at the *end or before start of laces while the Legacy has it *over of the lace. There is no discomfort on the Trainer 1 while you can feel some tightness and discomfort on the ball area of feet with the Legacy 312's. Trainer 1 are heaps comfortable.
Great video as always! I love Trainer 1s, but I only have that Fragment Chino Rust pair because the 2012 retro of the Chlorophylls was garbage and the 2020 SBs just flew by me. This new release will ABSOLUTELY be had.
My dad was nostalgic for this shoe because he had the chlorophylls in college when he played tennis. I helped him get a new pair and he was pumper. Cool moment for me.
I think these are cooler today than they were when they originally came out. I remember as a kid shoe shopping and all my friends wanted either a pair of air max or pegasus, these were considered not as cool as those models. These though are the best version of that shoe. I remember some pretty uncool basic versions of the cross trainer. But they did a great job with these.
Great review guys. Had the strapless version back in the 80's and always wanted the OGs. Really happy that I got myself both pairs. Apart from the cheap arse kiddie floatie vinyl, hairy liner and that flimsy heel cup, I'm over the moon.
i had one of these because of john mcenroe. i followed this up w/ reebok's 1st cross trainers : the cxt. both beautifully designed shoes. i wish i kept them for posterity.

I have the Air Trainer 1 SP Honeydew and I had to go up a half size and still got a blister on my pinky toe the first time I wore them even though I loosened the strap and laces. Hopefully they will break in a little. I do have slightly wider feet though. And I totally understand where Mrs. Wing is coming from - the strap. It reminds you of those Grandpa shoes with the Velcro straps instead of laces.
Not sure if my memory serves me but I remember Bo Jackson had a signature cross trainer in '89 or '90. It was awhile back but it had a similar strap across the fore foot.

picked up the chlorophyll on snkrs in the UK. really pleased with them but these retros have been a bit of a chaotic release. random retailers dropping them in the past 6 weeks or so. I'm a us 14/15 though so I have to wait for a Nike drop. one of my absolute favourite silhouettes. really pleased with the retro
I got the chlorofyll ones a couple of weeks ago and also have the SB version and allthough the SB's materials are a bit nicer, the fit on the 2022 version is much better and I absolutely love them. Also like that the perferation on the toebox is correct this time. The only thing I don't like is that the chlorofyll is just a little bit off, normally it's a bit brighter. Mc Enroe vibes are defenitely strong on this latest version👌
Been wearing my Chlorophylls every day since I got them last Tuesday. The quality is great but the craftsmanship, not so much. Lots of glue marks on the upper near the toebox. Very comfortable pair that caused some right pinky toe discomfort on day 5 towards the end of the day but overall, very solid and such a classic to wear with any fit.
I have a pair of Bo's from 2015 that's black/gray/volt. The cool part about them is that they have the reflective "34" on the heel. They're in pretty bad shape cuz I wore them in the rain.
Chris and Jodie, I ended up buying two pairs of these in 1987 my Junior year in high school. I did wear these for just about everything. But I absolutely loved hooping in them. Believe it or not they were awesome for playing basketball. Traction was great, they were so light and there was just enough cushion and having the strap for extra lockdown kept your foot in place. This might be the most underrated shoe of all time. They also look great. I wouldn't ask anyones opinion about sneakers if they like birkenstocks. She likes to disagree or make fun just to get you worked up. She still does a great job.
I still have the *Trainer 1 Python* in the white/black/medium grey and I think anthracite or graphite. The midsole is crumbling now but, the rest of the shoe is still great they are really comfortable.
Great video! After the awesome SBs I bought the navy/grey version of this 2022 shoe, but was so disappointed about the quality of the white base "leather" and the suffocating tongue that I returned them. The SBs spoiled me for this version! :-(

IMO Nike made a big step when they got to what is now called the Air Trainer SC High, aka Bo Jackson’s, and OG name was Air Trainer III (or maybe IV I forget). But they’re another world compared to the 1. Still dope though. The strap cuts across the end of my toes if I can be honest

They did I didn't get em because they took from the original color from the chlorophylls and changed the green color its not like the original.

The SB version could be considered a Protro. Same overall look, but slight tweaks to make things better.

IMO Nike made a big step when they got to what is now called the Air Trainer SC High, aka Bo Jackson’s, and OG name was Air Trainer III (or maybe IV I forget). But they’re another world compared to the 1. Still dope though. The strap cuts across the end of my toes if I can be honest

I got the air trainer 3s because Michael rocked em in Batman. Wore them to six flags and was limping by the end of the day. Fiendishly uncomfortable
