As I stated in a previous comment, I have a DIY hybrid pedalboard / Eurorack case. So I am familiar with both worlds. I just bought the Gamechanger Audio AUTO DELAY and came here to familiarize myself with the DYNAMICS and PITCH control functions of the series. What an excellent demo by the way! Bravo! ......And it just hit me: I realised it has a Volt per Octave pitch tracker! Not many exist in the Eurorack world, .....I know just two: The one sucks - its cheap- and the other is 400 Euros. I haven't tested this function of the AUTODELAY yet, but if it works well, this alone would make the pedal worth its money and is very special even for the Eurorack Universe!
Saw these and was afraid they were too complicated but after bonging out while watching this, I’m still afraid it’s too complicated plus I’m stoooned. 😜
I have to acknowledge and applaud your ability to break down these complex pedals. When Chase Bliss pedals are released, yours always have the best explanations to break down that intimidation factor. This thing sounds so cool and I bet it will inspire some songs out of people
I've had all 3 Auto Series Pedals for a minute and was pretty overwhelmed and have been crawling through my exploration of what they can do. That said, although nobody can predict anyone else's end user experience because the possibilities are so endless, your explanation in sharing your experience has helped with mine by leaps and bounds. I'd love to see parts 2, 3, 4, etc. as well as vids on the other two pedals. I've been tempted myself to start a forum dedicated to just GCA's Auto Series if only for the tips and tricks that may come of shared experience and maybe cut the infinity of how overwhelming they can be in ratio to their possibilities.
Ryan, thank you for this passionate demo! Seeing you transform into the exploding head emoji while jamming out those raw, deep lines felt like watching the moon landing all over again!
Man, these things seem cool. A pedalboard Eurorack module... If you don't have any modular gear, some guitar pedals take CV, either specifically labeled as such or by way of their expression-pedal jack (read the manual first). That splitter jack and separate tracking input has potential all on its own -- it doesn't need to be placed in *your* signal chain either, you could plug the bassist in there, use that to duck the reverb, whatever you can think of. Seems like they're going pretty hard on making traditionally modular-synth features accessible to folks that already have their hands full playing a real instrument... I think I need one.
One of the first in a wave of "FPGA 'Foogers", perhaps. An exception to the "not for live" I'd like to try is as an always on 'verb managed by aux volume/CV pedal.
@@shaft9000 This is a real gateway drug kind of pedal. The more I think about it the more I want one (or more, because you can set the automation to different settings and interpatch them...). And you can do more than just *audio* with these! You could plug those CV outputs into something like Sleepy Circuits' Hypno for audio-reactive video synthesis. Aaaaaaaugh. I did not need more GAS!
not going to lie, usually I 1st check the price, then pry my eyes from the top of my head and watch the video anyway. and as usual, you make it fun and interesting , even to the point of my questioning replacing my RV-6
Congatulations for a wonderful demo and explanation for this innovative pedal. I like the fact that you aknowledged the difficulty natural to novelty without the bitching and crying by some presenters and instead unapologetically embraced youre playful and quirius inner child.
The crazy thing is that this is basically a eurorack module made in a pedal shape. If it was released as an actual module, it would be likely one of the least complicated modules.
New name for this pedal: Post Surf🏄😎 This reminds me of the Moog keyboards (see Morrissey's "Last of the Famous International Playboys" video) and I see this more as a studio toy and might not be the best thing live unless you are doing a "Spaghetti Western" meets "Post Surf" type of gig. I picked up a Ibanez Echoshifter pedal for Delay to use as a noise machine and I see this pedal as a Reverb companion to that. I could see this pedal into say like a keyboard amp at an art gallery to do sonic landscapes to match what you are seeing on all the pieces you are looking at on the wall. Sounds kinda cool.🤔👍✨
I don't know how many people are like me, but ....I built a pedalboard connected to a Eurorack case. Using a "floating ring" cable I can use the expression input of my pedals as a CV input....not to mention the pedals I have with dedicated CV inputs from various companies. Some guitar pedals have expression inputs that accept CV signals and you don't even need a "floating ring" cable... I noticed allot of EHX pedals have that feature. I say this because with just an LFO, an oscillator, an envelope generator and the ability to make the pedals interact with each other AND the EURORACK units, new unexpected a) Timbres b) Effects and c) Sound effects can be created that go far beyond the current fx used. In other words you can build a custon modular synth in this way, playable by youre guitar. IMHO this is the future. But this future won't come without a hybrid Pedalboard / Eurorack platform. Products are been made without their proper habitat to thrive. SO ....to whome it may concern: Please make that happen!

I wish you could patch the pitch of your guitar into the pitch of the reverb (basically the rate of the diffused repeats that make up the reverb). Great pedal though. I have their incredible optical spring reverb and it's amazing.
I have major gas for the light pedal. I want a good spring reverb to put into the loop of my JTM45, but I'm not sure if the light pedal is the animal for me.
@ It’s very very flexible, one feature that makes it amazingly useful is, it has an envelope follower which can suppress the reverb tail when your instrument is not playing, to whatever degree you like. What this means is, you get the texture of the reverb, without the muddiness of a long spring tail. I do that, dial the wet-dry mix, and it becomes an incredible tool for fattening up the sound in a very organic way. It sounds classic and familiar, yet very precise. I will never sell mine, just for this reason. Also i’ve never heard a better sounding spring sound, it’s not aggressive or too bright like some can tend to be when brought up to high volume. I’ve been a spring reverb nerd since i was a kid cus my dad gave me an old Tapco mixer with a spring in it, and all my earliest terrible music was made with spring reverb 😂 The first time i heard in person how good the light pedal sounds i literally screamed. 😅
