Sam Witwer is an absolutely fantastic voice actor. Starkiller from SW:TFU, Darth Maul from this, Darth Maul from the new SWBF2, and Emperor Palpatine from the new SWBF and SWBF2. i love Sam Witwer and his voice.

When he is Sidious' apprentice, he's very timid and not wanting to upset his master and draw out his wrath, then after his defeat the fear of his master is gone and is replaced by anger, and he becomes more bold and brash. Then in season 5 when Sidious' arrives he reverts back to the very timid Maul we knew from Episode 1 and it carries throughout that fight.

In the Microseries he just seemed a bit... flawless and overpowered? if they were able to make as he was in the Clone Wars microseries he would have posed a huge balance problem and would be less of a character to build off of. Grevious as a character who gloats and monologues and who basks in his victories and displays make him seem like more of a villian who could stand out on his own. His pride and his show-offieness stop him from becoming an even bigger threat and liability. he likes to take his time with his rivals and competition. he even collects lightsabers as trophied as if he were some hunter! personally I think he is much better in TCW and ROTS than the microseries, but that is my opinion and I hope this didn't sound to argumentative.

A character especially a minor one is supposed to serve the story. He was too op and didnt fit when they needed from him so we got what we got. For that the main thing I like about George's wrk. He has a story and everything feeds into it till its completion. That's why I wasnt bothered with him nerfing the fetts when fans wanted otherwise.
