I'm watching this series for the first time and I've gotten to season 5. I'm amazed at the facial expressions, especially on Maul and Ahsoka. Even when she's in the background her face reads how she's perceiving what's happening. Really amazing animation.
Very interesting process,I loved how in the begging they show that they actually animated Ray Park's face just to get the right structure of Maul's head sculpt. This should've made it into the Season 4 box set.
I don't watch this show but obviously these people know what they're doing. When this guy said "we wanted to show his anger towards the jedi without him turning on a lightsaber" - that really should have been a goal during Episode I. Because he's not much of a character in that film, more just a guy for the jedi to fight for a dramatic climax. This guy knows how characters should be characters.
Maul looks to have the most detail out of any character on the show. While everyone else sort of have these cartoonish squarish features, Maul looks like how he did in Phantom Menace.
I recently just started watching Stars Clone Wars and its really been awesome. I love everything about it and am on the last episode of season 7. If only they could continue the series😭🔥

Ray Park is the actor who played Darth Maul. So I guess they modeled him to look like closely from the actor who played Darh Maul. I hope this helps you here just look him up.
this is still good for motivation. animation tech and such. 9 years later and i finally got some hardware to render this kinda thing fast. i have no plot tho, where the galaxy is headed.
So if this is all 3d, wouldn't it be pretty easy to use all these assets to make a game? I'm not a game dev but it seems like you could just use all these 3D assets for a fun star wars game...
No. Because... 1. it would cost much more 2. everything in TCW has that angular look, and if you scanned Ray Park's head and put it in, it would just look weird and out of place 3. it would take ages to "glue" his head to the CGI body because it would be so hard to get the movements and lightning right 4. or if they just filmed him (not just the head), how would he fight with animated people? it would take lots of green screen and time 5. you don't know much about animation, do you?
tell me about it, ah well... in all fairness the laser sword he takes from pre visla, id rather him have that one. plus the fighting style for darth maul is a master in Niman/Jar'Kai I cant understand why they didn't give him a double edge blade, but ah well, still excellent show.
I miss the Clone Wars. Most shows nowadays are lazily animated in 3D with that cheap animation style (you know the one). But the Clone Wars were pulling off these high graphic TV shows every year.

Alright then, cool. I still hope they will dare to kill off Ahsoka in the end of the show's running, since that would answer why she never appears again after the show. And it would also give Anakin a bigger reason to turn evil in Episode 3.
If u love putting maul into action in clone wars then why did u stop animating a sixth season???😭😭😭😭😭 i love clone wars and was so excited to see what plans darth sidious had for maul but then u stopped animating;( pleaseee continue your animation!!

the resent episode shown on Sunday 27th January was the best Clone Wars episode to me by far.
Everything that he just said made perfect sense, its noce to see o much thought and passion go into the show despite it being "for kids".
