He was signed to Ford in 1998 and drove fr them in 98' and 99'. The following year he left Ford and started a successful partnership with the Subaru World Rally Team. With the Subaru works team, Solberg finished runner-up to Marcus Grönholm in 2002 and then became the first Norwegian to win the drivers' world titlein 2003. In the following two seasons, he finished runner up. He proved to be a talent and is still involved in Rally. Just look up his name on google.
Wrc has lost its buzz & for sometime also. Manufacturers building developing rd relevant cars & more so the Grp A era. Rallying has lost this & the buzz around the whole championship. We need Subaru back we need a revamp from manufactures to build special edition models as the road relevance model to go rallying. Yes worlds a different place however look @what we lost here, Rallying was a proving ground for manufacturers to show off their products & Grp A in general was this all over. Touring cars pre super tourers was Grp A & this too connected the consumer to the competition vehicle. Era has gone but imo this is exactly what is missing. Motorsport in general is moving to far away from its roots & until it connects to the consumer I can see it getting far worse. Obviously this video dedicated to the launch of the Focus Wrc car however look how close it is to the Focus Rs & that is the DNA of the car. This is what the consumer wants this is what the Rs500 Cosworth did in the BTCC, Subaru Impreza Mitsubishi Evo imo this is what’s needed for the consumer to become the enthusiast & follow/support the sport.
I agree, I can’t remember the last time I watched WRC & thought yes I want to buy one of those, I really liked the WRC Polo but the road model isn’t available in the uk,I like the fact that Toyota built the GR Yaris but it’s not something I’d jump at, maybe in the future but definitely not something i really want. The Ford puma looks nothing like the road car, if WRC went back to Group A regulations, I think the cars would start to look similar to the road cars again & that’s what makes us fans connected to the cars & makes us lust after them.
Think this was taken from a program called world motorsports. Always used to show Rallying last. Andrew Marriotts commentary was awful I think he used to make it up as he went along!!
Guenther Steiner!!!! wow he's done well. Now running the Haas F1 team.
My most favourite car in any motorsport ever, all of my posters and wallpapers are about this car!
Good old Günther! What a guy! At least he managed not to swear his way through the interview!

I think a lot of the time it was done in one take, 'live' over the footage. Hard to do well.
Prefer these to the newer one's.
