We don’t just believe it is the biggest attendance, we know it. We have the 4th highest attendance of any game in the world and that is because Australia is the same size as America but there are only 26 million people here. It was also the first coded football in the world so it took things from no other sport. It is older than yours. Our grand final crowd hit 105,000 people at the MCG. Our players are elite athletes that do not need to hide inside padding. They can run fast for up to 90 minutes without losing any skills. It is the best game in the world and if you looked around your own Country you will find one team in every State called the US AFL.
None of you are my boy and none of you gave birth to any of the others. So watch and learn. Put down your America is the best at everything feelings and just see the game, you might like it. We love sports from all Countries and I have had my American Football team in America since I was a child. They are the Green Bay Packers and I don’t care if you like them or not.

Also most attended 'domestic" sport with key word "per capita" meaning per x population. Australia only has small population of 26million.
But the AFL is third/fourth for domestic attended sport in the world.
The NFL is waaay out in front for most attended sport in the world followed by German Soccer League, then the EPL and AFL tend to swap positions be ing third and fourth.

A probable reason your mates identify with NRL so far, is that it's closer to NFL in looks & play. Though NRL sh!ts all over NFL (too much stop start in NFL). Even Rugby Union is closer to NFL.
Aussie Rules footy is an Australian invented game & has little in common with either, except it's got an oval ball...though all 3 balls are different in shape.
Oh & SHERRIN is the Brand name, not another name for a football 👍
I've played both footy & league & if just watching, I prefer footy out of the 2.

The only similarities with Rugby is the basic shape of the ball , and tackling. Rugby you have to throw it backwards to then run forwards . Its two teams that line up facing each other . The AFL has players scattered all over the ground so you could be tackled from anywhere.
Rugby players are built to tackle and push back the opposition while AFL players are built to run and jump . Everyone on the AFL team has to be able to handball, kick , mark and tackle . The variation of skills is far greater to play AFL. There is also a far bigger range of body types that can play AFL . 5" 8' rovers and forward pockets are fast and elusive with quick thinking highly skilled abilities while 7" ruckmen can jump high and tap it down to the smaller men . You can be big , fast , skillful , have high endurance , great leap and there will be a position for you somewhere on the team .
Lots of americans are now playing the game with over 150 teams playing as armatures, including the women . Its expanding everywhere . One American does play at the professional level , his name is Mason Cox , his story is called Dont believe in never. It would be a good one for you to react to.

hey guys great video um just to let you know not every week are the games getting 100,000 people there at the most important games of the year is when you will get crowds like that or the only other time you will get that many supporters there is the game is between teams that are doing very well in the year and they face off then you may get a sell out. other than that it is very unlikely that games get 100,000 people in. The most important games during the year are the Anzac round and most anticipated game of that round is the ANZAC day clash between Essendon bombers vs Collingwood Magpies. we also have indigenous round round and the blockbuster game of that round is what we call the dream time at the g clash between the Essendon bombers vs Richmond tigers. and the real blockbuster game of the year is the AFL grand final at the end of the season.

It's 100% the most attended sport on earth per capita. A year or two ago, the AFL averaged 39000ish, which I think would have officially made it the 3rd most attended sport in the world, just above the EPL soccer. The NFL is the most attended. The average is, i think, 70000ish, roughly, but the U.S. population is like 340-350 million? Australia's population is about 27 million. Per capita, the AFL is the most attended sport on earth, and it's literally not even close.

Football is a bigger sport yes. But listen to what he said lol. You get say 80 000 at a soccer game in England which has a population of over 80 million. Aussie rules can get 80 000 at a game too but Australia's population is 26 million. So per capita Aussie rules have a greater % of the population going to a game. That's all. Plus domestic leagues On average.
You can get 80 000 fans to a NFL game but America has a population close to 300 million people so per capita more people in Australia go to the games.

Way better game than rugby league. Rugby union is better than rugby league too. Rugby league has a trailer park fan base.
