Boombox sound difference is not so big it maybe has a VERY little deeper bass and it goes a little louder but the xtreme is pretty nice aswell. Think about what you want to do with them if u want to take it everywhere take the xtreme.
In future videos, please test these speakers plugged in. The power passing through the drivers increases a fair amount, especially for the Boomboxes. I listen to my Xtreme 2 while at home, plugged in. It would just show the true power of the new JBL BOOMBOX 2 being a 40W rated speaker
I dropped the Xtreme 2 in the Gulf about 4 ft for 30 seconds TWICE and within 5 minutes had the S10, which went in the water too and Xtreme back up and running- I will always buy JBL
Bought the extreme 2 and it’s great! Very happy with it. It seems to work best at 50-80 percent volume, above that the bass levels out and only the hi notes get louder

So I didn't get to listen to either speaker, and based my decision solely on this video. I ended going with the extreme 2 (because it was on sale, and most importantly I have 4x jbl flips to pair). Those with Jbl Partyboost feature will connect only to other Jbl Partyboost speakers and those with Jbl Connect Plus speakers connect only to other Jbl Connect Plus speakers. Xtreme 1’s feature is ‘Connect’ and Original Boombox’s feature is ‘Connect+’. I don’t think they can connect. I haven’t tried though.

I have a doubt about boombox 2 battery, the 1° version has 20.000 mAh, than the boombox 2 has 10.000, with the same time of working, it's stranger....
