Pisanki Pin Drop Tutorial

Dave Savko of Ellicottville, NY shares his family pisanki tradition passed down from his Mom. Using a straight pin and melted wax, David writes symbols of resurrection and renewal on an egg. This was an excellent demonstration! Dave created these beautiful eggs with very simple tools. I especially liked the tradition of giving away the eggs at Easter time to friends and family.

I wish I had had my relatives teach me this while they still could have. Now they're gone. And this died with them. :( Here he is doing these eggs just like my aunt used to. Well done! They're beautiful. Wish you were closer to give lessons.

Chemical analine dyes available online via the Polish Art Center Hamtramack, MI or some better craft stores.
