India began dominating the global markets till UPA-2 govt which became more Leftist-Socialist and under Modi govt that became nationalist demonetising 85% of currency and centralising inter state taxation through GST, but now after Corona economic crisis, the govt has again woken up to liberalise and privatise the economy

Just see telengana. It's GDP has increased 3X in last 10 years.
Just 3 states UP, bihar, Bengal are dragging whole India down. These 3 states have whopping 33% of Indian population but are laggard in GDP and per capita growth. Indian government has failed to industrialized bimarou states like up, bihar, Bengal, assam, MP, Rajasthan. These 4,5 states are reasons for Indian poverty.

We are rapidly moving from that point , particularly in Modi's era ... I have no problem for that .But in India capitalization is more a monopoly or duopoly of few handful companies in many sectors. Most countries by then (1970s) had increased agricultural production while reducing the labor force in agriculture. Even now the US with 2% of its population in agriculture (6 million people) makes WAY MORE agricultural product than India with 65% (700 million people) in agriculture. Let that sink in!

Having promised a guarantee to under-perform, these workers in these industries continued without any innovation (considering Indian as been one of the most innovative countries in a 1000 years - it was appalling). Soon no one wanted Indian products...but India had to import critical items such as oil - so there was an outflow of Indian cash a thousand times more that under the EIC! Moreover India stopped all imports to protect the same lazy-ass industries, thus removing millions and millions of jobs that would have made YOU MORE MONEY!

I believe it was a good plan to be socialist in early years to protect us from Western industrialists. India had already seen what they could do in the name of trade for 200 years. Isolating ourselves till we become a bit powerful was a nice decision. Rather than questioning the decision one must first think about the reasoning behind the decision.

Yes , indian industrialist too didn't have the capital .
But if we see how Japan despite having shattered by America in worldwar 2 ,took off with capitalism of US and is now an Economic power .

@@---me--- Only Cities were shattered not the knowledge. Japanese had knowledge in military, infrastructure and everything. Indians has no such experience because Britishers made sure of that.
Moreover, if India was to maintain ties with West, it would have never become a nuclear power. The very reason that India didn't allow other countries to meddle in our business helped us in attaining that. There might have been coups and embargos just like West did with rest of the world.

A very educational video. Well done! Kind of scary how slowly but surely the government forced its way into so many areas of the economy. Sure, they compensated the owners, but how many of those private companies wanted to be bought out? The ones that did were probably not profitable and there's a reason why that was the case. I wonder how much of this nationalization was just a smokescreen for corruption?
