I just tried Dream Lab for the first time after watching your video. The con of using this is that it flags a lot of prompts as not meeting their standards. The following prompt was flagged: A book open with a background of bookshelves. A small woman with wings like a fairy flying in front of the book, holding a lamp. There is a hole in the middle of the book pages that shows a forest path that is mystical with red syrup melted.
@@GlaphyrasRevenge Well kind of. Only if you stay within the prompt it has given you for you to build upon or ask it to add other things to the image it just created. Meaning, if you close out the AI and then come back later, you won't get the same image. That's been my experience anyway. I'm not sure if we're able to use AI with our own images yet? There may be an AI app out there that can do that. That would be fun! 😊

Educate me on two things as I learn Can a more… 1) why did you need to remove the background on an image before you use it if the background is already white and 2) help me understand what the 1:1 image thing is. Thanks for this demo! Super cool.
Depending on what you are wanting to do with the images you have generated, you may not need to remove the background but if you are wanting a PNG with a transparent background then you will want to click the background remover. The 1:1 is the ratio. So think about the end result you are wanting to create. Let's say you are wanting to make a card but you are just wanting the image you generated to be an element on the card. A 1:1 ratio will work perfect because it's a square. If you are wanting to generate images for a Tumbler wrap then a 16:9 ratio would be better because it's a wide format. I hope that helps!

😅 I am fairly new to journals and colouring book designing for kdp but use free Canva daily. I'm addicted to this now, lol. So far I've made and uploaded about 68/70 journals and 8 colouring books so far. I make 3 daily. I know it's bit soon to expect sales yet, plus I don't have a credit card, money to pay for Amazon ads or canva's paid subbed. I'm excited though and have learnt so much already. I'm 66 by the way. 😅
Congrats! You know what I have a lot that never sold and some that took off. It just depends. I am not personally an ads girly BUT you may want to consider being your own advertiser. For instance, you can purchase your own copies at a huge discount. Then you can gift them and ask people to tag you on social media when they get them. Or you can take tik tok videos etc of them. You could even ad more in person photos to your amazon listings!
This is a great video! I'm constantly using the magic media, but I haven't gone straight into the dream lab overview and played with it. My problem is I start playing and then have a billion images and graphics I want to use but never put the work in too put them anywhere 😆🤦🏻♀️ It's kind of like a "death pile" In reselling - which ends up being a pile or been of tons of stuff you have thrifted to sell, but really enjoy finding stuff more than the actual work so it just sits there. Anyway, I also understand a lot of people are not fans of AI, but I think it's improving enough where at this point, not only do we have to accept it, but it works at the very least as a tool for inspiration, if not a designer tool. I am an artist of sorts, and I can appreciate AI as a type of art as well. People need to get over it lol!
Absolutely! I have ADHD and have a similar issue with generating or even drawing illustrations and never using them lol. I give me self "Doodle time" where I just play around without a thought of any earning. But I also have a list of topics I want to create for earning and ill only create those niche designs that day so I am not distracted. lol

I actually help and respond quite quickly and while yes I did take two weeks off during Christmas vacation to spend with my family (back today Monday 1/6/2025) which is the first day back to school. Easy answer is YES. BUT you need to create something fully new out of that because any Element you find on Canva is actually created by designers. As far as selling images created with Dream Lab this is different because it is AI creating and doesn't require any changes. However there are different things to consider for AI. I love the capabilities of Dream Lab. I am new to the graphics world and have a question about using these. Some companies say no AI-generated images. With that in mind, do you use Canva as a reference to recreate your own image? That would take me a lot of time. Suggestions, please! Thanks!
Most companies allow AI generated images but they require you to click an option that states that AI was used in some way. I almost always add or remove a little something. Whether that be a background, a sparkle, glitter etc.
I was trying to use Canva AI to create a series of 10 slides for a presentation by giving it very clear instructions about the subject matter and objectives. The good news was it generated excellent text for each slide and even text with speaker notes when I change the prompt. However it would not create the slides themselves inside keeping all the text together similar to what Chat GPT would do. I could not get it to work no matter how hard I tried. I tried many different prompts in its Magic Ai in different Canva settings like Presentation design mode etc to emphasize that I wanted it to design 10 separate slides for presentation using the text but it would only create the 10 slides all together inside a single image not as 10 separate images or slides to be used in a presentation format. I figure there has to be a way to do this as it was already doing most of what I asked for. I wonder if you could work your Magic and tell or show us how to do this? Thx
I suspect if you ask for a design (just one) then change a part in the prompt to "new image" or "different to the last one" .You would have to do it 10 times but it would still save you some time! That might work.
I loved this but WOW am I confused! I opeend CANVA to try side by side with your video and can find nothing that looks like what you are showing. I have the pro membership but...... ok do you have BEGINNING tutorials? LOL

Can you upload a picture and add or transform your picture by adding the details in the description box? Example you upload a picture of your puppy and you type in make this puppy appear to be flying with a batman cape and then it'll turn your original pic into whatever your description says

So if I asked Dreamlab to create a logo for me to use, it wouldn't be copywright infringement? Sorry if this is a redundant question, I'm sure it probably has been asked before. In my logical thinking, I'm thinking that AI is a huge data base that has collected images throughout time so they were originally created by a human? I'm super curious about this before I start using it for things! TIA!😉
Currently you aren't able to upload a reference image. However you could use the photo in another AI like chat gpt to describe the photo to you. Then ask the gpt to create a prompt. Then use that prompt in Dream Lab. I think we will get the ability to upload as time goes on.
On Etsy, each shop you buy from has it's own set of terms of use. I would definitely check to see what they allow. Other websites like Creative Fabrica YES.
I Always recommend modification in some way but you should look into the terms and conditions on AI art on the Canva website. Here is the link www.canva.com/help/generate-with-dreamlab/
Just found your channel and I’m considering opening an Etsy POD shop. Anything you can recommend or suggest I will take. Idk if you Only do design or digital, but I will take that. All we hear is T-Shirts are saturated, but other hand T-shirts (shorts as a whole) can’t be because we buy them all year 😂 I think general basic niches are especially when not established. However, I’d love to try other products. I’d love to try digital, but I have Zero knowledge. I watch Bailey from Bailey Co and she’s a millionaire from tumbler wraps. I understand she has multiple income streams now, but just a few years ago when she started she did them at home-then digital and hybrid, ect of course now she has courses and other platforms and the whole thing BUT $2-4 digital wraps of great quality is what got her whole foot in the door! Tons of creatives and home makers but her designs so yes, you can sell 2 pieces of metal art or 50 wraps it’s up to you what you want-point is you have to be really good, stand out and find what is in demand. Although I know all of this-I am a nurse so ANYTHING I do on a computer (besides charting lol) I am so nervous and anxious. Therefore, I’d love any positive advice from your followers and you personally. I’m going to check your channel out now and thank you for this video. I do have can e pro now and I feel lost so yes to the offer on tutorials in dream lab! I think promoting is the worst for me! And knowing sizes for a product. Upscale enough, ect. Hey there! Thanks for watching. :) I think opening a POD shop of Etsy is a great idea! T-shirts are saturated but T-shirts are also bought daily by everyone, everywhere. I think it's less about the product and more about the design. My advice would be to choose a niche that is your thing that you know a lot about. Since you are a nurse (so AWESOME BTW) you could do a POD shop that is focused on healthcare workers. Then order samples and wear them to work as your own advertisement.
@ TY!! I guess I’ve been burnt out in the medical field I was this I wanted something completely new and exciting, but I could still do that with POD. Nurse niche seems to be the “go to” as well as pets, faith and mother hood and of course teachers,since I have a school aged child, but so many ppl have niched them down to each specialties, breeds, verses and grades that’s where I got feeling burnt out in research again…that idk how else to do that. Maybe cross niche something in a way it’s not done a lot and try to hit the searched but low competition area in those? And it’s hard to make sure it’s what the customers want and NOT is! Breaking into these big niches seems so daunting and definitely scary for newbies and all the stuff we are told to do as beginners now in this late of the game. That’s why I thought maybe different POD products or digital. Idk I am wanting a change and thought POD would be best, but the overwhelm of finding new value is hard! Ty so much for replying I watched almost all of your videos yesterday and last night as I see you are replying back to now! You really are a great teacher! I hope some of these questions are understandable. It’s getting late, my daughter has a big surgery early tomorrow and it’s 2 hour drive and I am nervous and can’t sleep!! Not good for when I need the rest for such a long day and few long days ahead as well!

We still have a few more post-op days that will be rough, but I am faithfully optimistic. Once all goes back to normal I will be able to focus on all of this and I am always willing to do the work, but this is all new to me-so I guess I am nervous and anxious about trying something completely new and out of my comfort zone! However, if I enjoy the process that could very well be a plus that helps me be open minded and not fearful. I really appreciate all of your replies, information, and video tutorials. FYI, I really hope you’re not telling people to sell Zentangles, they are COPYRIGHT. Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas are the owners. You need to be licensed certified. Not all of the AI images are copyright free either. Etsy is changing and many people have had shops removed.

I mean, they look cool. But you aren’t creating the art, AI is. Actual digital artists put in a lot of time to create images from scratch (true artists). But for easy graphics to get your product out, it works.

In my own opinion, and this is just my own opinion (though I believe I'm not alone in this) anyone that can't seem to speak without swear words seems less intelligent to me. It offends my senses. I have actually found the opposite to be true. Usually the people who are against AI are people like myself (Graphic designers or other artists) but I have learned that AI can be used as a wonderful tool and it can't replace a true artist.
It’s not a replacement for graphic artists & designers. It’s a good investment as a strong marketing tool for any person’s business. It helps save time & money for a person that has a business.

Been using Dream Lab since it came out and have really enjoyed. Wish the images had a higher dpi though

Do you open it in Fresco and draw over it, like tracing? Do you import it and edit it? What app would you do that in? Thanks!
Selling Digital, if you are wondering why people like me watched half your video, but didn’t like or subscribe, it’s because your comment section is full of comments like this one, someone who was confused by your video instructions and then completely ignored when they asked you to clarify it. I actually help and respond quite quickly and while yes I did take two weeks off during Christmas vacation to spend with my family (back today Monday 1/6/2025) which is the first day back to school. Hey there! I am so happy you liked the video. I will oftentimes bring the images into Procreate on my Ipad (highly recommend!) I do various things depending on what I am creating. Ill have to make a video on this so ill make a note to do so!

Yes you can! You can change it up originally with the text grab feature and from there it will act as regular text in and canva design

Easy answer is YES. BUT you need to create something fully new out of that because any Element you find on Canva is actually created by designers. As far as selling images created with Dream Lab this is different because it is AI creating and doesn't require any changes. However there are different things to consider for AI. I love the capabilities of Dream Lab. I am new to the graphics world and have a question about using these. Some companies say no AI-generated images. With that in mind, do you use Canva as a reference to recreate your own image? That would take me a lot of time. Suggestions, please! Thanks!
Most companies allow AI generated images but they require you to click an option that states that AI was used in some way. I almost always add or remove a little something. Whether that be a background, a sparkle, glitter etc.

I was trying to use Canva AI to create a series of 10 slides for a presentation by giving it very clear instructions about the subject matter and objectives. The good news was it generated excellent text for each slide and even text with speaker notes when I change the prompt. However it would not create the slides themselves inside keeping all the text together similar to what Chat GPT would do. I could not get it to work no matter how hard I tried.
I tried many different prompts in its Magic Ai in different Canva settings like Presentation design mode etc to emphasize that I wanted it to design 10 separate slides for presentation using the text but it would only create the 10 slides all together inside a single image not as 10 separate images or slides to be used in a presentation format. I figure there has to be a way to do this as it was already doing most of what I asked for. I wonder if you could work your Magic and tell or show us how to do this? Thx
I suspect if you ask for a design (just one) then change a part in the prompt to "new image" or "different to the last one" .You would have to do it 10 times but it would still save you some time! That might work.
OH! This is a great challenge task for me to dive into. Ill write it down and check out in the next couple weeks!

Can you upload a picture and add or transform your picture by adding the details in the description box? Example you upload a picture of your puppy and you type in make this puppy appear to be flying with a batman cape and then it'll turn your original pic into whatever your description says
I do not believe we have this ability yet but I think we will in the future.

In my logical thinking, I'm thinking that AI is a huge data base that has collected images throughout time so they were originally created by a human? Can I use one of my own photographs in Dream Lab to create a book character?
Currently you aren't able to upload a reference image. However you could use the photo in another AI like chat gpt to describe the photo to you. Then ask the gpt to create a prompt. Then use that prompt in Dream Lab. I think we will get the ability to upload as time goes on.

On Etsy, each shop you buy from has it's own set of terms of use. I would definitely check to see what they allow. Other websites like Creative Fabrica YES.
No it costs one Credit per generated design. If you have a pro membership then you get 500 generations included a month!

If you read the details, you have to MODIFY the work you created here in order to sell.

Just found your channel and I’m considering opening an Etsy POD shop. Anything you can recommend or suggest I will take. Idk if you Only do design or digital, but I will take that. All we hear is T-Shirts are saturated, but other hand T-shirts (shorts as a whole) can’t be because we buy them all year 😂 I think general basic niches are especially when not established. However, I’d love to try other products. I’d love to try digital, but I have Zero knowledge. I watch Bailey from Bailey Co and she’s a millionaire from tumbler wraps. I understand she has multiple income streams now, but just a few years ago when she started she did them at home-then digital and hybrid, ect of course now she has courses and other platforms and the whole thing BUT $2-4 digital wraps of great quality is what got her whole foot in the door! Tons of creatives and home makers but her designs so yes, you can sell 2 pieces of metal art or 50 wraps it’s up to you what you want-point is you have to be really good, stand out and find what is in demand. Although I know all of this-I am a nurse so ANYTHING I do on a computer (besides charting lol) I am so nervous and anxious. Therefore, I’d love any positive advice from your followers and you personally. I’m going to check your channel out now and thank you for this video. I do have can e pro now and I feel lost so yes to the offer on tutorials in dream lab! I think promoting is the worst for me! And knowing sizes for a product. Upscale enough, ect. Hey there! Thanks for watching. :) I think opening a POD shop of Etsy is a great idea! T-shirts are saturated but T-shirts are also bought daily by everyone, everywhere. I think it's less about the product and more about the design. My advice would be to choose a niche that is your thing that you know a lot about. Since you are a nurse (so AWESOME BTW) you could do a POD shop that is focused on healthcare workers. Then order samples and wear them to work as your own advertisement.
@ TY!! I guess I’ve been burnt out in the medical field I was this I wanted something completely new and exciting, but I could still do that with POD. Nurse niche seems to be the “go to” as well as pets, faith and mother hood and of course teachers,since I have a school aged child, but so many ppl have niched them down to each specialties, breeds, verses and grades that’s where I got feeling burnt out in research again…that idk how else to do that. Maybe cross niche something in a way it’s not done a lot and try to hit the searched but low competition area in those? And it’s hard to make sure it’s what the customers want and NOT is! Breaking into these big niches seems so daunting and definitely scary for newbies and all the stuff we are told to do as beginners now in this late of the game. That’s why I thought maybe different POD products or digital. Idk I am wanting a change and thought POD would be best, but the overwhelm of finding new value is hard! Ty so much for replying I watched almost all of your videos yesterday and last night as I see you are replying back to now! You really are a great teacher! I hope some of these questions are understandable. It’s getting late, my daughter has a big surgery early tomorrow and it’s 2 hour drive and I am nervous and can’t sleep!! We still have a few more post-op days that will be rough, but I am faithfully optimistic. Once all goes back to normal I will be able to focus on all of this and I am always willing to do the work, but this is all new to me-so I guess I am nervous and anxious about trying something completely new and out of my comfort zone! However, if I enjoy the process that could very well be a plus that helps me be open minded and not fearful. I really appreciate all of your replies, information, and video tutorials. You make everything seem so easy and hopefully one day regardless if it’s digital or physical I am able to be as creative as you!!

FYI, I really hope you’re not telling people to sell Zentangles, they are COPYRIGHT. Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas are the owners. You need to be licensed certified. Not all of the AI images are copyright free either. Etsy is changing and many people have had shops removed.
Yes, you can sell artwork that is "Zentangle-inspired," meaning you can create your own designs using the Zentangle method and sell them commercially, but you cannot use the term "Zentangle" itself to market your products without written permission from the Zentangle company; you must clearly state that your work is "inspired by" Zentangle.

I mean, they look cool. But you aren’t creating the art, AI is. Actual digital artists put in a lot of time to create images from scratch (true artists). But for easy graphics to get your product out, it works.

Not sure what is so cute about AI generated art, most people don’t like to value it.
I have actually found the opposite to be true. Usually the people who are against AI are people like myself (Graphic designers or other artists) but I have learned that AI can be used as a wonderful tool and it can't replace a true artist.
If you’re not a business person you wouldn’t.
It’s not a replacement for graphic artists & designers. It’s a good investment as a strong marketing tool for any person’s business. It helps save time & money for a person that has a business.
