Traits for each Apple kid; Big Mac: Dad's build and strength, mom personality, slightly grandpa hairstyle when he was younger, grandma's eye color Applejack: Mom's build, dad's honesty and work ethic, Grandma stubbornness, grandpa's temper Apple Bloom: Mom floral name and skills with talents, Dad's color for fur and mane, grandpa's eyes, grandma's curiousity and spirit.
Yup, the "I'm..... so sorry." always makes me break down to. Just, the shear amount of pain and regret in his voice... Shatner was utterly perfect in this role.
My new top five: 1. The Perfect Pear 2. Crusaders of the Lost Mark 3. A Royal Problem 4. Amending Fences 5. Pinkie Pride (I originally had A Royal Problem behind Amending Fences, but I eventually found A Royal Problem way more entertaining, jaw-dropping, and enjoyable.) This episode is my new best of the entire series. Season 7 is quickly becoming my favorite season.
Imo Amending Fences is a better episode but it's way too much of a rollercoaster to rewatch it a lot, unlike A Royal Problem which I've watched like 5 times (and Pinkie Pride which I've rewatched like 10 times lol).
My Little Pony: Crying is Magic. But seriously, but this was such a great episode. It was Romeo and Juliet done right. And it also was a great world building episode, even exploring other ponies besides their parents in a natural way, so we learned a lot about Mrs. Cake and the Major. Also, I think the reason Granny accepted Pear Butter after the marriage so easily, was that she realized how strong Pear Butters love for Bright Mac war - strong enough to choose the Apples over her own family. And I really like how realistic that story is - such things do happen in Real Life too, where Parents dont like your chosen partner or where older people regret something they did to theit children, especially in this case, where they are dead. In my opinion thats the strongest episode of all of MLP. And a strong Episode in general, not only for a children show. (Also, William Shatner SLAYED his role, damn.) And I thought Royal Problem would be my fav this season.
19:30 remember the look on granny's face right after butter cup said the Apples were her family as well. granny realized in that moment the truth. plus, when she saw grand pear was forcing her to choose despite them now being family she realized she needed to be there for jer new daughter-in-law, because her father pretty much said, it's either me or your husband and if choose the latter, you're not family anymore. granny understood then and there the pain the fued had caused, that she in part played a role in
...aaaaand in that moment he pretty much disowned his daughter and left her upset at what should have been the most amazing day of her life. By the time he realized what a horrible mistake he made, it was too late. He can never reconcile with his daughter ever again. Granny Smith doesn't have regrets anymore, but I'm sure Grandpear will regret his rash decision for the rest of his life.
I've noticed that two ponies don't kiss in this show unless they're married. Which is pretty much the equivalent of no sex before marriage. Nice to see that MLP has some nice "Christian" customs Also, nice reaction! Call me sadistic for loving when reactors cry, but that's how you know the show is great!
Yeah.. for me its one of the best produced Episodes! This Episode have had so much of sweetness and sadness together.. And finally it was sooo adorable, this Song, the end part.. i love it.
6:35 just in case you're confused as to why Bright Macintosh and Pear Butter are able to talk despite being babies at this point I refer you to Rugrats and Arthur logic where the babies speak their own language that only they can understand. trust me, it helps a LOT with relieving the otherwise confounding headache this part creates when compared to the Cake twins
I believe that you are the first commentor for this ep who has asked why AJ is acting like she never knew her parents. Her and Mac are years older than AB; and AB was clearly born before they died
You know what I think the biggest clue was in this episode that proves their parents are gone? Goldy's line, "I knew they loved each other very much." She used the pass tense there. In this sense it's one of 2 things- 1. They don't love each other any more (and we know that is definitely not possible) or 2. They aren't around any longer. If they were still alive, Goldy would have used present tense. That's how you use subtlety. Unfortunately, the show still has a Y rating (meaning toddlers can watch it), and so death is still not allowed to be used. Frankly with all the action since the Pilot, the show should have been rated Y-7 at least.
She also says that Buttercup's cutie mark WAS a preserve jar and as cutie marks don't change (well, not without Twilight or Starlight getting involved anyway) I can only think of one reason why she'd refer to it in the past tense.
This episode always feels me with a warm feeling. The love story is beautiful. It started off as Romeo and Juliet but ended in a beautiful ending. I'm with you in that it made me cry. The song is beautiful beyond belief and I wish it was longer. Something I noticed that the moment Buttercup said the Apples were her family, Granny Smith seemed to have lost all her anger towards the Pears and accepted Buttercup as her family. It's possible that all this time after the wedding she was upset at the fact that Grand Pear left behind his daughter because of a feud. Love the reaction and let's hope we will learn more about the Apple family history
Because of this episode, it lead me to wonder if apples and pears (the fruit) could ever mix together. Sure enough, there is an apple/pear fruit hybrid out there
It was a valiant effort, ANdy, and you held out longer than I did, but seriously, don't worry about crying over this episode. It's got a bunch of different emotional extremes going on in it
Another beautiful episode written by Joanna Lewis and Kristine Songco. For me they wrote all the best episodes in season 7. I hope DHX keeps them in staff for a long while. Same for the Fox brothers and May Chan.
Every mention of them is in the past tense, several characters look distant and sad when the parents are mentioned (in the scene with the firewood pony) and the line "They left us something to remember them by" *put the pieces together*
They'd never do that in a TV-Y show, dude. It's basically been confirmed by how much they imply it in this episode, though, and even Lauren said they're dead.
Ryuga Kuroraio Here's the thing though hon. Them just being alive randomly somewhere? It's terrible, awful, shallow storytelling. Why MUST they be alive somewhere for you to cope? You do know people die right? Accidents happen. Surely someone in your life or in the life of a friend has passed on? Why must the Apple parents live on after the show has done EVERYTHING POSSIBLE within a TV-Y rating to get it across as gently as possible that they are gone?
Despite the animosity between the Apple and Pear Families and Grand Pear refusing to acknowledge his daughter’s new husband, at least Granny Smith stepped in and welcomed her new daughter-in-law in open arms.
Anyone notice Applejack:orange witch is buttercups mane color en her mane is yellow witch is buttercups pony color Applebloom: litteraly bright mac Bic mac:red witch is bright macs mane color and he has an orange mane with is buttercups mane color
Granny Smith never told her grandchildren what happened because she was ashamed. Bright Mac and Buttercup had to court in secret thanks to a pointless feud. She likely drove the Pears out of business, forcing them to move. When Gran Pear told Buttercup she had to choose, Granny finally realized EXACTLY how badly she screwed up. Buttercup was disowned by her actions. She's prideful, but of course she made every effort to make Buttercup feel welcome to the family. I don't think she ever let go of that guilt. Not until this episode.
Well, here is a possible explanation as to why the feud lasted so long and Grand Pear didn't come back until now. Apologize if more tears come about. edowaado.deviantart.com/art/The-Life-I-Never-Had-688426037
The top 5 episodes of the series I would say that are my personal favorites: 5) Castle Mane-ia 4) Sounds of Silence 3) Amending Fences 2) The Perfect Pear 1) The Mane Attraction
Yes. The two shooting stars in Apple Family Reunion are a nod to AJ, Big Mac and Applebloom's parents and Sibsy confirmed it on twitter. Also, Lauren Faust confirmed it as well and all of the characters used past tense when they talked about Bright Mac and Pear Butter. As for how, in the comics it was explained that timberwolves killed them
Traits for each Apple kid;
Big Mac: Dad's build and strength, mom personality, slightly grandpa hairstyle when he was younger, grandma's eye color
Applejack: Mom's build, dad's honesty and work ethic, Grandma stubbornness, grandpa's temper
Apple Bloom: Mom floral name and skills with talents, Dad's color for fur and mane, grandpa's eyes, grandma's curiousity and spirit.
Don't forget, Apple Bloom also has her mother's knack for knowing what a pony's special talent is
Too bad Buttercup's pretty curls wasn't a trait passed down to her children
It might happen with Big Mac kids if they keep him with sugar bell since she has a curly mane
No but it could pass into Pear Butter's grandkids.
I’ll bet their folks would’ve loved to meet their eldest son’s own love Sugar Belle. The first non-Earth pony in their family.
Yup, the "I'm..... so sorry." always makes me break down to. Just, the shear amount of pain and regret in his voice... Shatner was utterly perfect in this role.
7Seraphem7 What? Holy Shatner!

No, they just rubbed noses. And Apple Bloom even hesitated in even saying the word "love"
I think they've kissed before but yeah it's nice to see that
Yeah the kisses before getting married
Yeah.. for me its one of the best produced Episodes! This Episode have had so much of sweetness and sadness together.. And finally it was sooo adorable, this Song, the end part.. i love it.

Ohai again Kaperon! I love your reaction towards this PEARfect episode! :)
Kap just wanna say I love your stuff and also did you catch on to the sam eliot reference in burnt oak :3
Discord stop cutting onions! Like man, I can't stop crying!
I cried like a baby too. Such a beautiful and sad episode.
My little pony a show for kids make full grow man cry yep it's a good show Now think of a kid watching O NO THE KID ARE MAKING RIVERS OF TEARS
don't think they'd cry that much...
Or they just don’t understand why this series is good
Crying during this episode means you're human D':
Sure you didn't cry on the inside? ;)
wwryftw so I'm not a human...
I KNEW I WAS A POTATO ALL ALONG :D
I did. x3
Adham Khaled saaaaaammmmmeee
I agree. I ugly cried
anyone else notice big mac and bright mac both have a thing for mares with curly manes?
Sarah Morley oh yeah big mac and sugar belle
this is the first mlp episode that actually made me cry! when i saw that tree at the end, i literally bawled like a baby!
actually he has Big Mac's body with AJ's mane and Applebloom's palette
tiniracoon So what did they get from their mom?
ACGearsandArms if you look for a bit you can notice.
ACGearsandArms AJ got here mother mane color
Lapis Lazuli No she didn't. Applejack has a blonde mane color.
AJ has freckles (I think thats right) like her mother.
This episode is great at making people cry.😏
in a good way.
IN THE GOOD WAY! NOT THE BAD WAY , REMEMBER THAT , tho... i didnt cry , i guess i cant cry to easy , except if i think of my self...
I believe that you are the first commentor for this ep who has asked why AJ is acting like she never knew her parents. Her and Mac are years older than AB; and AB was clearly born before they died
"They should call it 'Forgiveness is Magic' huh?" he said, attempting to remain snarky and analytical through his tears. Lol, same.
*WROOONG BUZZER*
That was meant more emotional than you think.
Ah, I thought you were saying it like AC Racebest does, lol. I guess forgiveness really is magic.
You know what I think the biggest clue was in this episode that proves their parents are gone? Goldy's line, "I knew they loved each other very much." She used the pass tense there. Geeze someone give ANdy a hug... not that I blame him from getting emotional, this was a great episode.
This episode always feels me with a warm feeling. The love story is beautiful. It started off as Romeo and Juliet but ended in a beautiful ending. I'm with you in that it made me cry. Who still cried after watch 2 or more reaction toward this episode.
Because of this episode, it lead me to wonder if apples and pears (the fruit) could ever mix together.
Sure enough, there is an apple/pear fruit hybrid out there
I like the design of your OC. It has a nice colour palette and looks like it would fin right in the show without giving away it is actually an OC.
It was a valiant effort, ANdy, and you held out longer than I did, but seriously, don't worry about crying over this episode. It's got a bunch of different emotional extremes going on in it
This is probably one of the most genuine reactions I've watched on this episode xD I love it!
Thank you
HE'S GONNA BREAK HIS AW METER
Burnt Oak, the firewood salespony
Another beautiful episode written by Joanna Lewis and Kristine Songco. For me they wrote all the best episodes in season 7. I hope DHX keeps them in staff for a long while. Same for the Fox brothers and May Chan.
This is my first time seeing this guy react and I have to say I like him. He's not afraid to show his emotions.
This guy says thank you ^^.
They didn't say they are dead EVER, not a single time in 7 seasons.
Every mention of them is in the past tense, several characters look distant and sad when the parents are mentioned (in the scene with the firewood pony) and the line "They left us something to remember them by" *put the pieces together*
I deny their death until they show their graves or tell it straight, so i expect a plot twist in s8 where they tell where are AJ parents.
They'd never do that in a TV-Y show, dude. It's basically been confirmed by how much they imply it in this episode, though, and even Lauren said they're dead.
Lauren Faust exit after s2. So Hasbro can do everything they want. They may imply they missing, but not dead.
Easily my favourite episode so far.
SO EMOTIONAL IM CRYING This was what I wanted to happen in Mlp and it did So so so cute
Andy, thank you so much for your reaction video. :')
I just found your channel, and you're so awesome
Despite the animosity between the Apple and Pear Families and Grand Pear refusing to acknowledge his daughter’s new husband, at least Granny Smith stepped in and welcomed her new daughter-in-law in open arms.
It's almost more touching to see how touching you found it. :)
It's surprising to see that AJ's parents only had single parents growing up.
Anyone notice
Applejack:orange witch is buttercups mane color en her mane is yellow witch is buttercups pony color
Applebloom: litteraly bright mac
Bic mac:red witch is bright macs mane color and he has an orange mane with is buttercups mane color
Best episode ever I never thought they would go this far sure we don't know what happened but we do know they are gone.
6:27 Competitors? It's not exclusive to business rivalries, but tends to 'sound' more 'professional' than 'rivals' does.
The pears weren't ran out of business. He saw opportunity to grow his business and get away from people he hates.
What does Apple-pear jam taste like?
ACGearsandArms diarrhea
I didn't cry to this episode; I was just allergic to romance, that's all!
LET ME HUG YOU
Okay! *Hugs!*
Literally what I was gonna say!
The pear trees are shaped like pears....
I cried too...it's so romantic episode!
My new OTP has been found
7:10
When I get no cookies
If I show is getting a movie one of the rules is:That what ever is the main cast they must have a backstory episode.
10:48 Twilight!
by that story, i still have no idea, what happened with their parents either. if someone know, please gonna text
This episode gets me every time.
Happens every time I watch this episode too bud lol 😭😁
Well, here is a possible explanation as to why the feud lasted so long and Grand Pear didn't come back until now. Apologize if more tears come about.
edowaado.deviantart.com/art/The-Life-I-Never-Had-688426037
will shatner played Gran pear
20:15 ...wow. My mind is blown again.
I see no one notice that the theme between the feuding families and the union between the two lovers is inspired by Romeo & Juleit.
I may have misspelled Juleit or Juliet but you understand what I mean.
Everyone watching did. It's just so obvious that no one points it out.
I just came to watch the Scandinavian cry
I'm german. lol
ANdy Reacts Oh lol sorry ^^
😭😭😭😭this is so sad
you're into romantic stuff too? awesome! also great reaction and I cried at it each time I watched it over and over again
The top 5 episodes of the series I would say that are my personal favorites:
5) Castle Mane-ia
4) Sounds of Silence
3) Amending Fences
2) The Perfect Pear
1) The Mane Attraction
Sorry, you deleted my comments on your channel for whatever weird reason. So I will delete yours here.
ANdy Reacts Huh? I don’t recall deleting any comments. Where and when was this?
I'd like to hear about the Apple feud with the Bears.
I cried as well a bit, but I need a big question to be answered, are aj's parents actually dead?
As for how, in the comics it was explained that timberwolves killed them
Welp, we all knew that those trails to that boondock village were dangurous. But it explains on how AJ and Big Mac knew so much about them.
I LOVE your reaction, bro.
Thank you! It's always a good feeling that I get when I read that. Doesn't happen too often. :D
AHHHHHHHHH i cant take the feels ahhhh
