This episode is a metaphor for the fandom. When Hasbro released the series to begin with, they did not expect the fandom to ever grow to its current size. Each voice actor has had their Fame and Misfortune and has proven how much the enjoy but also disapprove of the fandom. The point of the episode was to communicate how the show staff think of the fandom and the head cannons that have been produced. They have tried every way to communicate their thoughts, even through song but the fandom continues to argue over every epidode. But even 1 change, 1 good thing like BronyCon's chariy auction, can make all the annoyances worth it. And just like it said at the end, the staff will still have to deal with the fandom but they choose to accept it and deal with the annoyances. And, the fandom can wait a while for different things to be revealed.
No complaints here. Winged Twilight mostly exists for the purpose of pushing Princess Twilight toys. I'm not one of the people that complains about it but I wouldn't have minded seeing her carry on as a normal pony either. I'm just going along with it basically but it did lead to a few pointless episodes along the way but whatever.
Hm, for sure it's about pushing toys. But that doesn't mean that winged Twilight had to be a bad thing for the show. When I saw the Season 3 Finale, I was pretty underwhelmed with Twilight, forced into a princess clichée. But now I admire the wisdom of the writers to know, when it's time to mix up the group dynamics a little bit, to tell new, interesting stories - or to be more precise - tell ancient stories in a new interesting way.
I thought it was quite underwhelming myself. I was mostly thinking "Are they seriously doing this?" Like I said though...."Going along with it" which means I basically don't care one way or the other at this point xD. Sometimes I still get hung up on the "oh ya, shes not really good at being a princess yet" thing that they try to drive home so much but it could be worse ^^
If Starlight were in the journal, she'd probably have ponies trying to murder her. Not everypony is as forgiving as the Mane 6, if you know what I mean.
Shigeru Yes, but the security in the castle is pretty lax. It wouldn't be that hard to sneak up on her while she's asleep and chop off her head with an ax or something. They'd just need to be less clumsy than Sunset Shimmer. ;)
14:16 - Precisely. They complain about her not being assertive enough, and then they complain about her being *_too_* assertive? This _IS_ the Brony community. You can't win. _Ever._
I realized despite each member of the main six having to deal with a different aspect of the fandom there's one key piece that hasn't shown up in the episode, content creators, there is and any ponies that make any mention of stories Steve written or fanart they've drawn Innoway yeah I can also be a different but it's led to a lot of great things and has actually went off into other fandoms gravity falls, Steven universe, star vs, fnaf, bendy and the ink machine, and I'm sure give it a little more time but ducktails reboot.
4:12 I question how the Friendship Journal got so worn and damaged in maybe a year when Celestia and Luna's old journal Twi found in their old castle was still in fine condition despite being left in that castle for over 1000 years
20:26 about frikin time Twilight used the Royal Canterlot Voice. She's been an Alicorn for 4 bloody seasons already and it's only NOW we see that being an Alicorn she does have the RCV (I don't count what happened in Hoofeilds and the McColts because she used magic on her throat that time).
This episode, when I first watched it on a Facebook pony page post displayed the episode video in the post so I watched it before knowing what it was about or reading the description. Half way through when all the fandom views started to be mentioned I realized it was M.A. Larson's good humor roast of the fandom. Lol
Fun fact: If you count All Bottled Up as a premiere, which it technically was, this is Twilight's first time singing a solo part in a mid-season episode since Art of the Dress (mid-season as in not a premiere, finale, or movie) Just thought you should know. Another unrelated fun fact: None of the CMC have ever had a speaking role in a season finale. There, that's something you know :) Great reaction, Andy!
I like hearing people who didn't originally speak English speak. One think I like about it is the different accents, there are some I don't like, but I like a lot of them. I also like the bad grammar most non-native English speakers use, it is hard to explain but it is very entertaining, with native English speakers it is annoying because they have spoken it their whole life and they should be good at it, and I always have a desire to correct them, but not with forigners. It seems that Germans have the best English grammar, which makes since because they are both in the Germanic language family. Even though English has a lot of Greek and Latin root words(which are in the Romantic language family) the grammar is more similar to how Germans speak, with a few slight differences.
I have a question about learning a new language(any language not just English or German). I took Spanish class but don't have a lot of experience spreaking it, and I was wondering if when you have more experience do you actually understand the language or do you just get better at translating it in your head. When I hear Spanish I have to translate the little I actually remember, but with my lack of experience I still barely understand anyone, I was told that if I spend time with Spanish speakers I will get better because I'm hearing it everwhere I go, but I want to know if I will ever actually understand it or if my mind will have to constantly translate it fast enough for me to have a conversation.
My language is Spanish but I learned English The best way to get better with the idiom is watching movies and hearing music in Spanish (I can hel you c: I know English and I'm a Spanish speaker and you know Spanish and are a English speaker) Try writing something in Spanish In here :v
I still sit through the intro aka theme song. I love it, I like some of the changes but may be a new title sequence is do. Don't change the song or may be re use the first movie intro. I really love the beat to the first movie.
Im still curious as to who actually wrote this episode because Larson on came up with the idea for it and didn't want credit for it or something like that.
Nope. No one knows publicly. Larson said on a panel that it wasn't his idea. He was entirely against the idea because it would be seen as an attack and lose fans. Look at Slice of Life and his tweets right after for the way he truly feels about the fans.
I know some may feel it doesn't make sense for her to say that given it was established that ponies love royalty and would Like Twilight Better as a princess but i loved that line about twilight being better before she had wings. There's enough ponies in equestria to counter that opinion with their love of royalty as there is fans who prefer pre-princess twilight. lol
I know. :p It was glorious. Also reconsidering what I said maybe it's only in canterlot where ponies value royalty and their opinions above all else. :p in season 4 we saw Twilight get shrugged off as just another pony by others in places like manehatten. So maybe the bias towards royalty only applies to canterlot. :p I must say to Rarity's freakout here is the top of all freakouts in terms of faces and sheer emotional reaction. This season has produced top notch episodes. Royal Problem, The Perfect Pear, This episode among several others. I hope they keep on track because it's been fantastic. :)
Actually I can be an asshole at times. But yeah, I would agree in the end I am rather good hearted even if I love to swear at times. Thank you, it's nice of you to hear that. *hugs*
Manifesto? I need to watch her season 5 episodes again to be sure. But was Starlight's village an allegory for Communism after all? If so, it was the Stalinist sort.
12:40 yes, little filly. Insult the PRINCESS when she's RIGHT BEHIND YOU. 12:44 also, way to go Mane 6. A.K. Yearling keeps her life as Daring Do private for a reason and now you've ruined everything by telling the world she's real
Seriously, I was planning to block every person that writes "First". It annoys the hell out of me. Didn't go with that this time but was seriously considering it for a few minutes. So be warned. Lol

Dallin Anderson that's why I love ma larson, he just dropped truth bombs
Didn't you post this exact same comment on a different reaction....
Rakuen Growlithe so?
Remember that book was in the library when it blew up. It's a surprise that it's still even in tact.
"Twilight was better before she got wings". -they actually said that.
What's even more ironic is that M.A.Larson wrote both the S3 finale and this episode :J
Yeah and it's pretty accurate to this fandom
No complaints here. Winged Twilight mostly exists for the purpose of pushing Princess Twilight toys. pff, they could try
that would be like mices attacking a bear
Shigeru Yes, but the security in the castle is pretty lax. It wouldn't be that hard to sneak up on her while she's asleep and chop off her head with an ax or something. They'd just need to be less clumsy than Sunset Shimmer. ;)
Who's Aryanne?
Oh, ok. I don't really read fanfiction.
"so she was a cult leader and ended the world? How is she a good guy again?"
The final boss in this season is not Grogar or Crhisalyz. IS THE FANDOM !!XD
Now THAT would be an epic end boss. lol
14:16 - Precisely. They complain about her not being assertive enough, and then they complain about her being *_too_* assertive? This _IS_ the Brony community. You can't win. _Ever._
That's every community actually
Now imagine the Animators using Brony OCs instead of the normal background Ponys :D
Even after 6 years of watching MLP I still do love the intro.
Guess I'll never get bored of it)
Why is this book in bad shape?
Remember "Every Little Thing She Does" when the castle was flooded. I think that is the reason

My favorite comment toward the show is when the old lady said that Twilight was better before she got her wings
I love the intro and Toola Roola! And, the CMCs did write once in the journal
4:12 I question how the Friendship Journal got so worn and damaged in maybe a year when Celestia and Luna's old journal Twi found in their old castle was still in fine condition despite being left in that castle for over 1000 years

Great reaction, Andy!
I chuckled when you spoke over Twilight calling her Toola-Roola then you asked what her name was
Anyway this is just another episode that so ridiculously good that i want to watch it over and over again.
P.s Congrats on getting over 5061 subs👏

Congrats to 5000 subs!
Love that Toolaroola and Coconut creme represent the intended audience
23:04 - yeah...they can't hear you and they never will. :(
26:20 - yeah, 'meh'. Best not think about it too hard. :P
Can I ask you something ? How do you do a link to time period ? I know it's stupid question , but I just wonder ...

Thomas Gabriel White
You will understand it without thinking about it after some time.
My language is Spanish but I learned English

In here :v
Perhaps... this was the real purpose of the friendship journal. It's 'true form' as it were.
Regarding the mane coloring: Toola-Roola and Coconut Cream where G3/3.5 characters.
People are always surprised at the condition of the Journal. I direct you to Starlight causing the castle to flood last season
Oh... right
23.00 - Thank you AppleJack ....
5:20 yep. I still love the intro 😊
I just realize that spike wasn't there
2:56 I'd say it's more poking fun at the fandom than making fun of it. There is a difference between the two.
Intro is the best thing ever...
Intro Lover here! I'd be really excited if they once used the extended theme song in an official capacity.
I still sit through the intro aka theme song. I love it, I like some of the changes but may be a new title sequence is do. Don't change the song or may be re use the first movie intro. I really love the beat to the first movie.

Josh Blackwell well sense larson had the idea in pretty sure larson made it.
Nope. No one knows publicly. Larson said on a panel that it wasn't his idea. He was entirely against the idea because it would be seen as an attack and lose fans.
Look at Slice of Life and his tweets right after for the way he truly feels about the fans.
I support the intro! This episode is amazing! Kinda reminds me of Slice of Life.
I love the intro too. Though I prefer the "full version" by a large margin.
I know some may feel it doesn't make sense for her to say that given it was established that ponies love royalty and would Like Twilight Better as a princess but i loved that line about twilight being better before she had wings. There's enough ponies in equestria to counter that opinion with their love of royalty as there is fans who prefer pre-princess twilight. lol
That line was meant to make fun of the people who can't accept that Twilight changed. The whole episode was basically roasting the fandom.
But yeah of course there are people who prefer her earlier version.
I know. :p It was glorious. Also reconsidering what I said maybe it's only in canterlot where ponies value royalty and their opinions above all else. :p in season 4 we saw Twilight get shrugged off as just another pony by others in places like manehatten. I agree with you, season 7 brings pony to a new higher level so far. :D I enjoyed Rarity's freakout alot.
Those 2 fillies were from the previous generations.
Rarity has gone crazy twilight
You have some interesting board games back there! :)
Oooh yes! I LOVE beard games! You too?
ANdy Reacts is that a joke or a typo?
I love the intro. :)
I love your reactions. You are so nice.
Actually I can be an asshole at times. But yeah, I would agree in the end I am rather good hearted even if I love to swear at times.
Thank you, it's nice of you to hear that. *hugs*
I don't hate the intro like some bronies, but I wouldn't be sad if they completely re-did it.
My New Favorite FIM Episode!😊
Anyone who says your English isn't good doesn't know what they're talking about. It is good. :)
Haha , it can help . :D
I thought he stopped reactions?
23:51 look closely at rarity's mane
Yeah .. Animation's problem .
Manifesto? I need to watch her season 5 episodes again to be sure. But was Starlight's village an allegory for Communism after all? If so, it was the Stalinist sort.
Toola Roola and coconut cream
This is the fanbase in a nutshell
Lets go intro
I like the intro, but i prefer the extended version lol
Which "extended version"?
Intro lover
Are you alright ? You look... really tired.
Việt Trung Trần I was, lol
Rest when you can.
Việt Trung Trần Thanks. I do. :)
I don't love the intro but I like it
Twilight is better after she got her wings.
12:40 yes, little filly. Insult the PRINCESS when she's RIGHT BEHIND YOU.
12:44 also, way to go Mane 6. A.K. Yearling keeps her life as Daring Do private for a reason and now you've ruined everything by telling the world she's real
This is the okis ep ever
First
ugh. I hate "Firstlers"
Oh :( nvm then -.-
Seriously, I was planning to block every person that writes "First". It annoys the hell out of me. Didn't go with that this time but was seriously considering it for a few minutes. So be warned. Lol
Alright alright!! Sorry!! xD
