    Cool! Fry oil filters have been a thing for decades. Nice to see that this works on used crank case oil too! Reuse, reduce, recycle!!!

    It would be interesting to see how much of the carbon would come out of it if you spun it through a centrifuge? I'm very interested in your project. Please continue to post.

      Thank you! I do know a centrifuge woud do a great job but I don't have $1500 to spare at the moment to buy a centrifuge and apparatus
      I've got about 10 gallons filtered so far.

      it would spin around thur filter, would that be the same. Interesting Thanks

      @@donvoll2580I have heard that there is an on board "kit" that contains a centrifuge that they install on big trucks that will both cycle the crank case oil AND the oil they have filled the fuel tank with.

    Do not, DO NOT!!!!!! reuse that in any engine.
    All of the properties needed have been used. That oil is now junk.

    You Should never ever use recycled oil.
    Vehicle cost is way to high, be nice to your engine.
    If you can't afford new fresh quality oil, you should not own a car.
    Become a Uber person instead.
    Recycled oil will void any engine warranty keep that in mind

    You cannot filter out the black from diesel oil it is sub micron carbon particulates but those are harmless in the engine anyway the black color means nothing as far as the ability of the oil to do its job if you filter it down to 1 micron and there is no water in it or fuel contamination in it it can be reused. even 2 micron is fine enough regular oil filters on cars and trucks are 20 micron filters

    • @TACOMASRT5
      @TACOMASRT5  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Didn't know that about the sub micron particles.
      Some filters are 20 microns.
      Brands like K&N sacrifice filtration for flow and they are 30 microns

      new diesel trucks have 5-8 micron filters the pump at the station has an 8 micron filter so there is your standards

    • @Bill-wz6tw
      @Bill-wz6tw หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@thetremoloco4801 You're talking about a fuel filter and I am talking about oil filter. You cannot have a full flow filter that is smaller than around 20 microns and provide enough oil flow volume to lubricate the engine and provide the bearings there needed fluid film those filters are too restrictive and this is why a standard oil filter doesn't really protect your engine as much as you would think it does regardless of the brand name and the marketing wank. A bypass oil filter system can be as small as 2 microns because not all of the oil has to pass through the filter at once so the oil that is bypassing the filter will still provide sufficient volume and eventually all the oil will still get filtered through the 2 micron bypass filter element regardless my statement about the black color in the oil still is valid even a 2 micron oil filter will not remove the black color in the oil but that is harmless to the engine only mainly the metallic particulates will cause damage. Or anything that causes the oil viscosity to break down or water intrusion which the oil filter will not remove fuel dilution or water in the oil.

      @TACOMASRT5 Mobil 1 does 30 microns for flow as well. Supertech and Fram etc. It's better to have less filtration (more flow) in cold winter climate. When using Fram's best filtering Ultra Synthetic filters, I noticed a LOT of engine rattle at startup. Doesn't happen with their adequate Tough Guard filters. Mobil 1 is the same. No rattle. Instant oil flow. Less resistance. Super duper filters are overrated and can actually cause damage. So no super duper Purolator Boss or any those anymore. Balance.

    By the time you factor in the time material, the free oil should be about $25-$30 a gallon diesel fuel.🤑

      5 of my 10 buckets were free.
      Others were already owned and cleaned.
      Valves were 5$ I think for a pack of 4
      The filters were $100 for all of them from 600 down to 1 micron.
      I also double socked each bucket with a small sock filter inside a large one as the smaller socks can clog up first and are only $5 each to replace.
      So yeah like anything it has initial start up cost.
      And because I'm filtering from 600 to begin with all the way down to 10 microns with washable filters, they will pay for themselves quickly. The sock filters can be washed too but I will stop using them when they stop flowing which based on my oil consumption. With any luck the motorcycle will get good MPG's.
      If I had a centrifuge it would be much more effective than this yes but it would take much longer for a $1500 setup like that to pay for itself.

      Its not to re use as oil.
      It's to use as diesel fuel in a mechanically injected Diesel engine which can burn almost anything.
      A typical human hair is 50 microns.
      Engine oil filters usually run from 20 to 30 microns.
      Diesel fuel filters are typically 15 microns.
      I am filtering down to 1/2 micron to remove as many impurities as I can before use.

      @TACOMASRT5  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've done enough to know a mechanically injected Diesel will burn darn near anything!
      Your common diesel fuel filter is 15 microns.
      A common engine oil filter runs 20 to 30 microns.
      This is a learning experience for me too and I appreciate you watching and support!
      There's many types of "home made fuel" for diesels
      "Black diesel" is usually 4 gallons of motor oil and 1 gallon of gasoline.
      Another form is vegetable/ frying oil but typically needs heated if your using 100% fry oil. This is why some people mix in kerosene, old stale gasoline, diesel, etc. to sort of "adjust" the flash point.
