What kind of gas mileage can I expect on the 4cyl?
I can't find any video of the 2.3 acceleration.
We have (just got) this exact same model and color - I was surprised how much power the I4 engine has in it. It out performs are old V6 by miles. I am disappointed in the cargo room and the storage areas and the overall feel. They were not well thought out and everything feels inconvenient or useless. Ours has the smaller screen camera. I question how much we can actually tow safely with it.

The 4-cylinder ecoboost engine is great. 280 horsepower has plenty of get-up-and-go but if you're standing on the gas pedal the mileage won't be what you think it should be.

Just got one and so far the i4 feels more powerful that the 2.8 V6 we use to have. Can you still tow with it?

2016 doesn't have the new Sync 3 stereo system.

There is no "Lincoln version" of the Ford Explorer. Which is why you see the Platinum trim offered with this model.

Those turn signals are so tiny, they're unnoticeable. Unacceptable.

+drchulo76 Ford's usually come with significant incentives. While a dealer will gladly take full MSRP for this vehicle, it will actually sell for about $33,000-$35,000. I bought a new 2017 Ford Explorer Platinum in July and it's MSRP was $55,780. I walked out the door with it for $49,600. Since taxes and fees were included in that price, I technically bought it for $47,362.
drchulo76 it’s actually cheaper than that. Most Fords give rebates, I’ve seen it go up to $7,000. You could also qualify for more if your first responder, law enforcement, etc.
Just bought one used with 14k miles. The 2.3 Turbo has plenty of get up and go. When we first looked at it I told the salesman I did not think the 4cyl would get it. After a test drive, it changed my mind. It has 10 fewer horses then the v6 and more torque. It scoots.
Did you test drive the 3.5L? going to test drive a 2.3L tomorrow and curious if it will have enough power and passing power. How do you like yours?
I had a 2015 with the 3.5L, the 2.3 is just as fast, maybe quicker off the line.
I like for esplorer , is my car favorit

That's what I like big roomy vehicles rear wheel drive no front axles you have to replace when the boots dry rot and tar which is bull crap bigger your vehicle is safer you are if you get hit you most likely will not die if somebody hits you

Obviously you aren't old enough to remember how really horrible Ford's build quality was in the 70's. This vehicle is incredibly superior to anything Ford produced back then. When Ford began using plastic for their dash the panels seldom lined up. The interior of the Ford LTD, the most expensive Ford model looked very plain by comparison. Cars have come leaps and bounds in the last 44 years.

This thing drives like crap. My 2013 shit Patriot gets 0 to 60 under 18.5 seconds vs this thing doing 1 minute with sport mode ON. Everyone on the comments has the downs. Seriously, if you don’t want to get t-boned, don’t get this one with a 4 cylinder. The Honda CRV 4 cylinder can kick this cars ass any day.
