    Just wanted to thank you for a clear helpful video. My dad passed away last year and he usually did these type of easy repairs for me but your video actually gave me confidence that I could do it myself and I DID!! :-)

    Great to the point video. I ordered mine on EBAY $45
    It arrived today 2/12/22 and installed it in 15min. I disconnected the wire first before the screws.
    Thank you so much ✊🏼💪🏼🙏🏼✌🏼😁

    I might need to replace blower motor soon because it is making louder noise as I increase the fan speed, like a Cessna propeller 🙂 It could be some leaves stuck in there, I need to take it out and see.

      Yes, it sounds like something in the fan, but you can remove it and easily check

      @@eeeek5238 If the air is blowing but not cold then you most likely have a leak. It should be 45 degrees or colder when coming out of the vents. If the force/speed of the air coming out is low, then I’m not quite sure what would cause that.

    Before replacing blower motor, make sure there's no dibri, excessive dirt, leaves stuck in the cage of the motor. I've seen that and it only takes to clean it. After removing blower motor, spin the cage and listen for excessive noise which indicates worn out bearings.

    Our 2014 Civic LX blower motor works intermittently. Sometimes runs on high just fine. Sometimes not at all. Sometimes barely blows on any setting. I thought maybe it was the resistor but it wasn't. Blower never sounds weird. Always sounds like it did when car was brand new. What should I look for next? Cools just fine. Thanks for the video

    • @DIYGuyUSA

      I have not had that problem with this car but another car had similar issues. Sounds like the blower motor resistor or possibly a relay.

    Do you have a video of the sound it was making before you replaced it? I think this is my current issue but it’s not so much a squeak as a wurring noise that has turned into it barely blowing now.

    • @DIYGuyUSA
      @DIYGuyUSA  ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately, I don’t have a video that has the sound, but I believe it is more of a squeak because the bearings are worn out. Yours could be a different issue such as a bad blower motor resistor.

    I have a 2017 civic. AC is still cold but the blower isn't blowing as hard as it should. SHould I replace the blower motor or could it be something else?

    • @DIYGuyUSA
      @DIYGuyUSA  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is possible it could be the blower motor. Does it change to different speeds properly? If not, it could be the blower motor resistor. It probably would require a little more research.

    My 2013 Civic motor has been making somewhat quiet high pitch sound, from day one. Honda told me I'm hearing things and refused to replace it. My wife isn't bothered by it, I'm going bonkers every time I drive the car.
    My question, would it be just the fan that would make this sound or the motor itself?

    • @DIYGuyUSA
      @DIYGuyUSA  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Does the sound go away when you turn off the fan? If so, then it is probably caused by this. Fan and motor are one unit

    • @DIYGuyUSA
      @DIYGuyUSA  26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I haven’t done it on this car, but I believe it is to the left of where the fan assembly is underneath the glovebox. It should have a plug for the fan.

    • @DIYGuyUSA
      @DIYGuyUSA  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This fix is just for a squeaky fan. Yours sounds like it could more electrical such as the switch resistor or a bad relay.

  • @DiggOlive

    I have a rhythmic chirping sound that seems to come from my passenger side AC fans. The sound stops as soon as I turn the fan to off, and starts with the fan on even if the AC is off. Do you think replacing this part would fix that?

    • @DIYGuyUSA
      @DIYGuyUSA  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If the chirping sound is related to the speed of the fan, then I would say it is probably worth replacing.

    My car hit a massive pothole and the fans got really loud

    • @DIYGuyUSA
      @DIYGuyUSA  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it is this fan, you would be able to hear it without the the engine running. Just have the a/c going. It should be just a squeaky bearing. Otherwise, it could be something else depending on the sound.

    • @kaiburns4257
      @kaiburns4257 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DIYGuyUSA I hear it with just the fan on, regardless of engine being on or setting, I'm worried the housing got bent maybe?

    • @DIYGuyUSA
      @DIYGuyUSA  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kaiburns4257 it could be that something fell down into the fan area. If twigs, or other debris is near the engine compartment, maybe a bump made something fall into it. It is fairly easy to remove the fan and check.
