    That coolant line is the fucking reason why very engineer who designed or signed off on this placement to be fired AND blacklisted from working in any automotive position ever.

      Dude this engine sucks bad. …like there is no air flow for these engines to operate in cool temperatures they are stuffed in tight spaces and 0 airflow. All plastics in my engine have basically suffered heat stress … look for metal parts for replacing all the top end components too. I agree with you 100%. These engineers are probably Nepo babies 🫥

    There is way to gain access to that banjo fitting bolt. Sometimes trying to shortcut takes longer. Remove the serpentine belt. Then remove 3 bolts holding a/c compressor set the compressor aside with lines still attached. Then remove the 3 bolts holding the a/c bracket. It's not a lot of work just a couple more steps. Well worth the effort!

      The way he did it was just fine and trust it’s a lot quicker then doing the way you suggested

      It’s not easy replacing the serpentine belt on these. You have to remove the motor mounts and jack up the engine.

    • @ryanphillips6253
      @ryanphillips6253 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Removing the belt isn't actually necessary, my bad. Just remove tension from belt and take it off the compressor. Let the belt hang, no biggie.

    I just recently replaced the turbo charger to my 2017 Encore (about $4,500). The mechanic told me the same. The metal turbo oil supply line was completely clogged. I did the research and found out it's not the turbo that goes bad, but the oil supply line that gets clogged because the metal supply line is too close to the manifold leading to oil being cooked in the oil supply line clogging it in time resulting in the turbo not getting oil. Just like arteries being clogged leading to heart attacks and strokes. This is poor engineering on Buicks part. There are two easier solutions to this problem. 1) Manufacture a custom metal tube and routing it away from the manifold or 2) Wrapping the metal supply line with a high heat resistant tape like what was done with mine. The mechanic stated most of the new replacement kits are now coming with high heat resistant tape. So, it's not that it is a faulty or poorly manufactured turbo charger. I suggest that the metal oil supply line be changed "often" in order to prevent premature turbo replacement. It only cost around $30 to $50 depending on where you buy it. Much cheaper than a turbo (ouch!!!). Also change the oil sooner than the recommended oil change is suggested. Keep in mind, even though you may change your oil on time or sooner, does not guarantee the oil supply line will not get clogged, even with the high heat resistant tape.

      Correct the shop I hade replace my turbo didn’t replace the oil line and caused it to fail again so I ended up doing it myself and finding the clogged line

      Actually, that z line is supposed to have a heat resistant sleeve over it so the manifold wont cook the oil inside that z line.

    My 2015 encore uses orange coolant. What’s the difference?

    • @carsntrucks782
      @carsntrucks782  ปีที่แล้ว

      As long as the coolant you use says it’s for your vehicle or universal for all makes and models. You’re good. There is different chemicals in different colors though wouldn’t recommend mixing a specific coolant for a totally different car and coolant type.

    • @chaos1291975
      @chaos1291975 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      stay with the orange do not mix . if you flush out your system you can put what ever you want back in it but never mix . i know if you mix dex cool with others it will start eating the inside of the radiator. from a chemical reaction

    • @rafaelmeneses5066
      @rafaelmeneses5066 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fastest way is just cut the hoses and buy new ones. GM engineering always make things more difficult than they need to be. When you install you need to install the line before the turbo and just thread the connector in the turbo.
