@brandonlovelady8659 I don't know why the original poster didn't just say it was from Monastery Icons in Wisconsin. Many Orthodox have been aware they are not to be purchased from for some time but I doubt most Catholics know their dishonest history. If someone gave me an icon made by those new age con artists I would burn it.

In Ezekiel, God's common refrain is: "Prophesy, o son of man, and say..."
In Luke's passage on the trial of Jesus, the guards blindfold Jesus and mockingly say: "Prophesy, o son of man, who struck you?" They're not only bad-mouthing Jesus, but also mocking the prophet Ezekiel and the Book of Ezekiel.

Didn't Jesus constantly prove His divinity by:
    -being born of a virgin
    -calming winds and storms
    -walking on water
    -multiplying food
    -making the blind see
    -making the paralyzed walk
    -cleansing lepers
    -casting out demons
-bringing the dead back to life
-*dying and coming back to life himself*
And that's just off the top of my head.
Even if Jesus never claimed to be divine, he proved it over and over again through his actions.

@robertstephenson6806your scripture is evidence of the Deity of Jesus Christ and paired with the Old Testament shows Jesus Christ, God Father Incarnate, fulfilling the prophecies, offering himself through his Son as a perfect sacrifice so we may all be saved. Hallelujah!

@robertstephenson6806 Brother what I can tell you is you have contradicted yourself through the scriptures you quote and if you re-read with an open heart asking Lord Jesus Christ God to guide you you will see the scriptures you quote are evidence of our Lords Divinity.
Your final heretical SATANIC Thesis that Jesus Christ is not Lord God the Father one in the same, is false. And let me be extremely clear. You have contradicted yourself. The bible has not contradicted itself but rather reached a state of whole and completion by the Death and Resurrection of Jesus Lord God, Hallelujah! “Who has seen me has seen the father”.
I have work and can not get into the complexities of all the many times Jesus claims divinity as God. If you read the Gospels and compare the Perfect Sacrifice of God himself as prophesied in the Old Testament the only explanation is you are the one who is misinterpreting or you are a Satanic Troll who is trying to reap the souls of the lost sheep as Jesus mentions in Luke 22 when he turns his body into flesh and blood into Wine as a covenant for all so we may not parish but have eternal life. And he commands us to “do this in memory of me”. That is the Eucharistic mystery and is the whole point of God Incarnating was to Die and Resurrect destroying the chains of death.
If you are genuine please reply and we can have a respectful conversation. If you are a Satanic Troll then may God Rebuke you and show you grace if you are deserving. Paul was once Saul who persecuted Christians.
There is more Rejoice in Heaven over one sinner who repents than for 99 who have never sinned. Hallelujah!

“Who though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
    - Philippians 2:6-11
“Turn to me and be safe,
all you ends of the earth,
for I am God; there is no other!
By myself I swear, uttering my just decree, a word that will not return: To me every knee shall bend; by me every tongue shall swear, Saying, “Only in the LORD are just deeds and power. Before him in shame shall come
all who vent their anger against him. In the LORD all the descendants of Israel
    shall have vindication and glory.”
    - Isaiah 45:23-27
St. Paul clearly equates Jesus as God in his letter to the Philippians by alluding to God’s words in Isaiah. Also St. Paul’s epistles were written the same time the Synoptic Gospels were written. The early Christians knew Christ is God.

Mathew 14/33: (When Christ walked on the sea): But they who were in the boat came and worshipped him saying, “Truly thou art the Son of God”
Mathew 16/15: He (Christ) said to them “But who do you say that I am/” Simon Peter answered and said “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God” Then Jesus answered and said” Blessed are you Simon Bar-Jona for flesh and blood has not revealed this to thee but my Father in heaven.”

As often, I wonder what the audience for this podcast is meant to be -- aside from numerous. Are these claims news to any Christian who has read the Bible and has discussed Jesus even once with fellow Christians? "Shocking" is a good word, I admit...in the sense that we should never allow familiarity desensitize us to the wonder of what is being revealed to us in Scripture -- but it ought not be "shocking" in the sense that we turn to this podcast and learn about it here for the first time, surely.

It is true that the verses you have listed have been the subject of various interpretations within the Christian tradition, and they have been understood in different ways by different theologians and Christian denominations. Some of these verses have been considered ambiguous or have been interpreted in multiple ways regarding the divinity of Jesus.
    1. John 10:30: "I and the Father are one." This verse has been interpreted by some as an affirmation of the unity and equality between Jesus and the Father, indicating Jesus' divinity. However, others interpret it as a statement of unity in purpose and mission rather than a direct claim to equality with God.
    2. John 14:28: "You heard me say, 'I am going away and I am coming back to you.' If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I." This verse has been understood as emphasizing the subordinate role of Jesus in relation to the Father, which has led to differing interpretations regarding the nature of their relationship.
    3. Philippians 2:6: "Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage." This verse has been interpreted in various ways, with some seeing it as an affirmation of Jesus' preexistence and equality with God, while others emphasize the humility and self-emptying nature of Christ.
    4. Colossians 1:15: "The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation." This verse has been subject to differing interpretations regarding the meaning of "firstborn" and its implications for Jesus' nature and relationship with God.
    5. Hebrews 1:8: "But about the Son he says, 'Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever; a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom.'" This verse has been interpreted in different ways, with some seeing it as an explicit affirmation of the divinity of Jesus, while others emphasize the role of the Son as the agent of God's authority.
Given the diversity of interpretations and theological perspectives within Christianity, it is important to recognize that these verses have been understood in various ways, and the nature of Jesus' divinity is a topic of ongoing theological discussion within the Christian faith. Different Christian traditions and theologians may offer differing interpretations based on their particular doctrinal beliefs and historical traditions.

No one is good but God alone." (Mark 10:17-18) The attempt to claim that Jesus is denying that He is God from this verse. The very fact that the man sought to be taught what more He must do, when he considered that he already kept all the commandments is a sign he sought a higher authority than the scribes and Pharisees. God is that authority and Jesus was leading him to understand that.

Ehrman says this I think because his theory now that he isn’t a Christian is that Jesus was a mere political revolutionary. So to him anything not fitting with that narrative must have been invented later on. I feel like ehrman is just angry at feeling duped because he was taught an overly simplistic view of the Bible in his youth. I don’t know why but I have this feeling he will come back to Christ some day, probably through the Catholic Church if he does.

Its undeniable that Christ is the divine Son of the blessed God. There is not a prophet in sacred scripture that spoke as Christ in regards to themselves, using the same authoritative & also prophetic coming judgement language which we see God use in the Old Test & Christ using in the New Test.. its paralleled & blatant when the rich beauty of scripture is exegeted. Anyone that doesn't believe Jesus is our Lord & God, just needs to put down the superficial shallow lens that they read w/, as its in the sacred texts, nm the Orthodox teaching & belief for historical Christendom. Per Christ Jesus in Luke 19:44 "They will crush you to the ground, you and your children within you, and they will not leave within you one stone upon another; because you did not recognize the time of your visitation from God.” Only God comes on a cloud to judge, controls the weather, presents an eternal perfect sacrifice, is the Good Shepherd, Son of Man, the Savior, I AM, the Lord of lords, the Alpha & the Omega/ the First & the Last etc..Who upholds all things by the word of His power. To God belongs all blessing & glory & wisdom & thanksgiving & honor & power & might

As far as just scriptural, we get a better understanding of Christology exegetically in regards to the Old & New Test, hence the typology, titles, prophecies & authoritative language. There are various texts that reveal Christs deity, whether the obvious explicit in John 1 & all thru Johns Gospel but thru all 4 Gospels, Pauline epistles, books of Acts, Revelation, Saint Peter, Titus, Jude & Hebrews. If your truly holding the position that Jesus is not the divine Son of God & hold that the bible does not reveal Father, Son & Holy Spirit are 3 divine persons, your absolutely heterodox & on an island of heresy imposing your own interp & denying what has already been established, even prior to Nicaea in 325 we have the testimony & quotes of the early church fathers, the great saints & martyrs of the holy faith that affirmed the deity of Christ, the Didache dated to the 1st cent. Your position is not tenable, biblical or traditional Christendom theology. I previously gave countless texts but to keep it shorter but not exhaustive by any means as so much can be said in defense for the Trinity & deity of Jesus. We know God is a jealous God & will not share His glory w/ another per Isaiah 42:8, amongst many others, but know that all authority has been given to Jesus & He is worshiped whether in Rev 5:13 Him on the throne & the Lamb receiving all glory, honor, might, dominion etc by all Gods people, or Jesus explicitly being worshiped in Mat 14:33, 2:2, Heb 1:6, Phil 2:10. We also have such a text as Rom 9:5 the eternally blessed God or God blessed forever, etc, depending on trans/version. The holy Gospels blatantly show Jesus is the divine Son of God who came from heaven, revealed by God to Saint Peter, Christ giving himself the divine name of God I AM, doing mighty works, commanding weather, raising the dead, reading minds, healing the sick & forgiving sin which was only attributed to God, even raising himself from the dead, & the very reason the Jews sought to kill him was that he made himself out to be God, even at his trial revealing He is the Son of Man per Dan7 that will come up on the clouds to the Ancient of Days & will come in judgement on the clouds just as God did in the Old Test. We got to Col, Heb,Tim, Phil & see God was manifested in the flesh, all the fullness of the Godhead dwells bodily in Christ, He upholds all things by the word of His power, in Him all things consist, all things were made thru him & for him, the Angels worship him, God calls him God, apostles & all peoples worship Him. You cant get away from God the Shepherd that will gather, lose none, in the Old & Christ in the New Test, similarly in Mat 23:37 “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! Luke 19:44 They will level you to the ground-you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation from God. Acts 20:28 ”Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood. 2Cor 13:14 the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God & the communion of the Holy Spirit be w/ all of you. Mat 28:19 go therefore & make disciples of all nations, baptizing them IN THE NAME of the Father, & of the Son & of the Holy Spirit. Even the more known texts still refute this heresy your holding, Isaiah 9:6 ....govt on his shoulders & He will be called, Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace..the Trinity right there..but even Saint Mary's visit from the Angel Gabriel, Jesus is declared to be Immanuel, God w/ us. Even the holy Mountain of Transfiguration shows the radiance of the glory of God in Christ, God comes to them in the cloud(Holy Spirit) & says "this is My Son, hear Him", just as Moses did in Exodus & now again on the holy Mountain, Even the baptism of Christ we see the Godhead. I can literally go on & on touching on countless texts, & holy tradition, but your clearly missing the rich depth & beauty of sacred scripture & Christendom...Jesus is the eternal Word, the right hand, the power, the glory, the love, grace & mercy & the Angel of God.

@@robertstephenson6806 Im sorry but you proved absolutely nothing w/ all the copying & pasting & are just imposing your own heterodox view, its been refuted time & time again. Your just copying & pasting from heterodox sources. Your even attempting to impose on the Greek like the JW's which im guessing you may well be..if that's the case your Ecclesiology is as bad as your Christology. You have no orthodox sources, no correct exegetical interp & Tovia Singer & Watch Tower style scriptorture. You form doctrine before exegetically evaluating texts, your using a strict heretical lens & ignoring 2k yrs of church history, teaching & practice. This is how cults are formed. If you believe in Jesus then you believe in multiple Gods as you can't ignore Jesus is worshipped & has all authority or that God will not share His glory, hence its a contradiction. Also only God can perform an eternal sacrifice for all time for all thru faith, "not a man." If I refute your JW ecclesiology then it all crumbles like a house of cards. So remember Christ said the gates of hell will not prevail against His Church.. the pillar & ground of the truth, but JW's have the Church decimated & pretty much gone, conquered by hell & apostate until the 19th cent lol, & even that Christ returned in the early 20th cent, hence a disaster & to add, don't add the 'a' to make Jesus a god, butchering the Greek & presenting there can be other lil gods or even satan as a god on the level of the true God & Savior Jesus Christ, who is blessed forever, in the holy NAME of the Father the Creator King of the Universe, & of the Son our Lord & Savior, King of Kings & Lord of Lords, the Great High Priest at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven on the throne of grace, the Shepherd & Overseer of our souls, & of the Holy Spirit the Lord & giver of life who proceeds from the Father & the Son & guides us into all truth

@@robertstephenson6806 The Eunuch was reading Isaiah 53 to which Phillip revealed was about Messiah Jesus, so you neither mention this but rather Isaiah 43...but the entire book of Isaiah supports the deity & truth of Christ & the Godhead. Nor fail to understand the problem w/ self imposed interp hence the Magisterium such as Phillip, otherwise the Eunuch imposes whatever he wishes

@@robertstephenson6806 say what lol?how does that affect what Philip taught him? Its not ignoring anything out of context so what in the world? You obviously have an Ecclesiological & Christological problem, Christ is above the Magisterium, Hes head of the Church..the Apostles to the succession to the Bishops would be the Magisterium & always beneath Christ but promote Christ in fullness, Orthodox fullness of the deposit of faith, not made up heterodox nonsense

This is cool, but Jesus isn’t correcting Moses. It’s just not what’s happening, and it’s robbing Peter to pay Paul.

I always took the statement of Jesus as the son of man to mean that whilst Jesus was born from man he himself attained divinity. Divinity being something not set out defined but something to be achieved.
