    Infos about the Song:
A Tripoli (In Tripoli, also known as Tripoli bel suol d'amore), is a patriotic piece of music written by Giovanni Corvetto and set to music by Colombino Arona in 1911, just before the Italo-Turkish war began. It was composed to propagate the upcoming war of the Kingdom of Italy against the Ottoman Empire, which was aimed at the conquest of Libya.
The piece was composed shortly before Italy entered the war against the Ottoman Empire. War was declared on September 29, 1911, the day after the ultimatum delivered by the Italian ambassador in Constantinople to the Ottoman Empire. The intention of the Kingdom of Italy was to make Libya an Italian colony. The conflict ended on October 18, 1912 with the Italian victory.

The images with the woman having a star on the crown are from the Third War of Independence. The woman represents the personification of Italy, the crown she wears is composed of walls and towers and symbolises the nobility of Italian cities and the star is an ancient symbol of Italy but in that case it symbolises the hope of Italian unification

Extra information: At that time, the Ottomans could not send soldiers to Libya because there were very few ships in the Ottoman army. The soldiers who fought there were generally Ottoman officers who came to the region secretly. They fought the Italians by organizing the local people, but eventually lost the war with the Balkan Wars.

      Also fun fact:
Before Ottoman capitulation the furthest point that the Italians reached from shore was 20km

Here is a sadly ironic story of an Italian soldier named Innocenzo Bianchi. To him in the first few days invasion didn't seem to be a war at all. On a letter to his family he said “I believe it is not real war but little attacks that we will overcome... I will return home with a victory, [Turks] are not fighting, they fled to deserts.” Bianchi was killed in action 6 days later.
Weird to think Italians were having such a hard time in the Libya and would have probably lost due to attrition had there been no Balkan Wars. Italian Army swiftly captured the coastal Tripolitania in a shockingly efficient landing. Then boom, deadlock, they could never break the will of the Turks no matter what, considering they often outnumbered them 4 to 1 and had superior technology. Turks would only abandon and sue for peace when the Balkan Wars broke out -which they were outnumbered and outgunned again-. During a deputy meeting, foreign minister is quoted to say “There are 2 neighbourhood fires, one in distance (Libya) and one right next to us (Balkans). We can only save one. It's only logical that we abandon the distant neighbourhood to its fate.”
