    I’ve watched multiple reviews/demonstrations, this is the best by far. This machine is perfect for home in every way. People who say it’s too expensive don’t understand the quality hand made craftsmanship and amazing after sale support. I eventually bought one and you only need to use the app once, set to your liking it’s done, and I get the exact same perfect coffee like the shop every day. The quality of the machine blew me away it’s like driving a Ferrari.

    Thanks so much for this comprehensive discussion and demonstration. I watched several Micra videos lately and this one is the most informative. I have been trying to discern the noise level of the machine as it pulls a shot. Your video makes it clear how quiet it is. So many other videos try enhancing with music, or talk endlessly over the extraction, which makes it impossible to hear the machine. I appreciate your straight forward approach.

    Thank you for your detailed 'tutorial' on this machine. I want to get away from the E61 hot-heads (which I have). This is the best excuse for getting one. And La Marzocco HQ in the U.S. is a 20 minute drive from my home. So I am already in touch with an employee here to get a demo! It is definitely a home-run!

      Congrats! But getting consistent results at home depends on more important variables. You can get better-than-cafe coffee at home with even with a Breville if you have a good grinder, good beans, and pay attention to your puck prep and dialling in.

    In your opinion, is there any reason to buy the mini over the micra for a home user? Or maybe a better way to ask is, does the quality of the mini justify the premium over the micra?

    • @iDrinkCoffeeCanada
      @iDrinkCoffeeCanada  ปีที่แล้ว

      The Micra is a great option for someone with space constraints. Personally, I prefer the larger size of the mini but this is personal aesthetic preference. You get a larger steam boiler on the Mini but the majority of home users making just a few cups of coffee a day will be fine with the Micra.

  • @jhomrich89
    @jhomrich89 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    Couple things I would change 1. The PID I love the idea of an app it can be very convenient however I like the idea of a traditional PID in the event I either don't want to use an app or let's say the technology for some reason fails; wifi sensor inside the machine ect. 2. Make the spouts for the portafilter metal not plastic that is unacceptable at that price. 3. That steam wand looks a little awkward to use could be improved.
    All in all none of these would stop me from owning it but however I feel these revisions should be considered when its time to revamp the machine for the 2nd generation.

    • @Adam-cn5ib
      @Adam-cn5ib ปีที่แล้ว

      The machine uses bluetooth not wifi to connect to your phone. It pretty much can't break and you'll never have to change the settings once you've set them once.

    • @danielpepper5728
      @danielpepper5728 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Part of their rationale for the plastic spouts was to reduce the thermal mass, thereby improving (ie, decreasing) the time required to heat up the head and portafilter.

      @@daisywuwoo1 I likely would have bought the Micra if it was out when I got the Syncronika. The ECM is an awesome beast. Especially with flow control. However it’s a big honker and takes up a lot of real estate.

    • @BrianHutchison
      @BrianHutchison ปีที่แล้ว

      Same, downsizing our home and this would be a nice option with our now more limited counter space. I love my Synchronica but this takes up a lot less space. Also considering the Lelit Bianca V3 that can mount the tank to the side for more flexibility on shallower depth counters.

  • @Johnadam0524
    @Johnadam0524 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Finally. A real review. Appreciate the content. Do you feel the price is justified? Or would you look at the Bianca V3 which is getting a lot of comparisons when looking at value?

    • @carlcruz2803
      @carlcruz2803 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm also having a hard time convincing myself to get this over the Bianca V3 which is significantly much cheaper and allows you to do more like flow control, etc. I reckon you can get espresso on the Bianca that is just as good or even better than the Micra/Mini for way less money. And you even have to buy a separate kit if you want to plumb in a Linea. For the price they're listed at, it should've been included 😔

    • @iDrinkCoffeeCanada
      @iDrinkCoffeeCanada  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think a lot of it boils down to personal preference. When comparing features to features you do pay a premium for the La Marzocco brand but I think with the contributions they have made to the specialty coffee industry they have earned it. Build quality wise La Marzocco is very good, it is at a higher level than Lelit but the value on a machine like the Bianca is great.

    • @iDrinkCoffeeCanada
      @iDrinkCoffeeCanada  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I do agree with a lot of what you have said. The value proposition on some other machines is undoubtedly higher.

    Nice Video 😎. Even though I dislike the mobile app requirements. If it was £2k or lower I would most likely purchase one. I'm considering the ECM Heritage Mechanika Slim VI. Unfortunately not much new ECM content so not sure if it's a good choice.

    • @damonm3
      @damonm3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly my thought. I would have guessed the cost at 1500-2000.. at 4k it’s still a niche high end product with a very small number who will buy. I love the looks. But they’re not worth more than double of what you could get a similar performing machine for. I did the stupid cheap machine progression over the last decade and finally have a GCP. It’s a good machine. Next one if I do upgrade will have pid, dual boiler and other things you’d expect with a dual boiler machine. But you can check everything off the list for less than half of the lazaroco.. and I really don’t want one that looks like a quantum computer/fusion machine.

    It strikes me as really strange that the micra doesn't pre-infuse unless it's plumbed in.

    • @aoalr
      @aoalr ปีที่แล้ว

      All machines need to be plumbed in to have pre-infusion

    • @iDrinkCoffeeCanada
      @iDrinkCoffeeCanada  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      In order to pre-infuse you need a lower pressure or some way of restricting the flow. The La Marzocco GS3 mechanical paddle has a conical valve that allows for a kind preinfusion but it's really just restricted flow. Technically speaking pre-infusion is done at a lower pressure and traditionally espresso machines that are plumbed in will use line pressure to preinfuse. There are some machines that use a magnetic gear pump which is a multi speed pump capable of pumping water at different pressures. This is found in La Marzocco EP (Electronic Paddle) machines or some other brands that have machines with pressure profiling.
