This record is unbelievably rare
It wasn't very big at the time, so they didn't make/sell many records of it.
@@Matt78collector no kidding, I saw this record go on eBay for 1 grand
I'm sure it's more common in britain
@@Matt78collector Currently big now, haha.
i have one. didnt know its rare
The original sounds more refreshing than I had assumed.
The Caretaker could not have chosen a better opening song. There's something so special about how the song sounds that makes it perfect.
Nah it’s just funny meme music
@@georgejungle138 This "funny meme music" was made in 1931. It's a classic from over 90 years ago. It will live on many people's hearts as a beautiful classic.
@@georgejungle138 this comment is exactly why people have a hard time actually talking about the caretakers work as art rather than just some funny sound
@@headcrabking9054 Yes, it's extremely annoying when people think of 30s and 40s music as either Fallout or Caretaker music
@@gunnarthefeisty yeah, it's really annoying, as a fan of both I completely understand thinking of them when listening to older music, but it's important to remember that the music came first, and both fallout and the caretaker where inspired by it afterwards. It's odd that it even has to be said, but I guess that's the way the internet works.
months ago I was trying to find a physical copy of this, but I only came up with compilation CDs, no actual original 78 rpm records. So its great to finally see what label Heartaches was originally pressed on.
This sounds really cool
This is from a CD though
@@makimakipapura7543 well CDs didn't exist in the 30s so it had to either be on shellac or an original wax/metal master disc first
@@cheesemanthe2nd I meant the video sample. Not the medium on which it was originally pressed on. It's pretty hard to find an original of this.
@@makimakipapura7543 This is a 78rpm record.
Here we go lads, the prof finally uploaded the big one

Is "al"
I see a lot of the comments talking about other versions of this song. This is my first time hearing it that I remember. Nice.
Was a mortifying experience to get the notification to THIS of all things.
Why its a great song
everywhere at the end of time
yeah I agree the song is great
@@KanselDumbass i swear you people have no brains

Still remember this classic 🗣️🗣️🗣️
Delightful on a Summer's afternoon. Wish people still had concerts in the parks, dances at the end of the piers xx
Just wait a little longer
They do. Ever hear of nyc?
If you listen closely to ths Vocal you can a hear the vocal group "the three ginxs" doing background vocals.
For dancing or cocktails, this is THE version…lol…God bless ya, Ted…none of ‘em can touch your “It Was Only a Sunshower”…lol!
Beautiful! Have had it in my head for years. Now I can hear it the way it was. Thank you!
Hi, can I know now when you knew this song! I'm doing it for a video, no need to tell me personal information I just want to know what year you knew it, Thanks!
So danceable, I'm on my feet now dancing to this great orchestra from 1931. Wish I could have a copy of this to dance to again and again. Love it.
You could download this song, or share it with your own e-mail address, and download with Ummy or some similar device.
@@tamikoestomo3275 Hey! Thank you for the advice. Very thoughtful!
Or have a friend over to sing it to you.
What a great song also the 78 is very rare and hard to find
This became not just one of my all time favorite old songs, but one of my top fave songs in general
i didn't know this was recorded with Phillips' band!
Worlds away from Patsy Cline.
Learn something new everyday.
Which is why I'm here, good stuff. And thank you!
Burning memory.
Frankly, I was pleasantly surprised with this one. Also, I think someone mentioned elsewhere that this was recorded on August 7th, 1931
We will all be beautiful

Its just a burning memory
yes
Heartaches, heartaches
What does it matter how my heartbreaks
So Beautiful x
The Marcels had a hit version in 1961 as their follow-up to “Blue Moon”.
Their actual follow-up single release to "Blue Moon" was the low-charting
"Summertime," but "Heartaches" did come next.
@@the78prof72 and Summertime charted over here..wheras Heartaches did not..
This is great ... even though my mom grew up with the Ted Weems recording :)
Sid Phillips as in Toy Story
Apparently he was the father of one of the drummers from Toto.
Waltzing in the ballroom...
Surprised me for being a very fine-sounding version.
Why is this a banger
I love the song but the caretaker traumatised me enough to avoid listening to it I think this one of my first time listening to it sense
Me too actually
@@memekinganimations6048 I now no longer have that effect thankfully.
@@TopHatJack4970discord damn I still have it…
@@memekinganimations6048 hmm
Truth. My wife was lucky. Being new to this country and hearing his songs but never watched psycho or heard slowed down versions.
while there as many many renditions of Heartaches, Al Bowlly's will always be my favorite, there's just something so good about it that keeps me coming back
so its just a burning memory now samples an old song...
Yes, all music by the caretaker samples a song from the 1910s - 1950s
@@BlackPatti78s well the oldest caretaker sample is from 1899 and the latest one is from 1975
@@theidiot752 true but I’m just saying the normal range but there are exceptions like the ones you mentioned
Hermosa música de los 30s, que gran belleza....
Al Bowlly wouldn't have believed that this song would become so popular in the 2020s.
Thanks to a Brit with funny hair
aka Leyland kirby
What a nice song
That´s the original!
You can’t remember? Everywhere at the end of what? Get under the home in that old speakeasy. I heard Bowlly might preform tonight here in this little Neighborhood!
why dose feel like at one point of my life i heard this same song but yet i don't know why i felt like i own it never saw it
nice
If someone has a copy of this orginal 78 rpm record and would be willing to sell it comment below pls.
My favourite part 1:20
Lol, it strikes again
haha cooky
Fallout anyone?
Heey, there's the high roller!
sounds a bit too old for fallout
the sid philips band should get more recognition
You like Ice Cream, Doc?
If you heard everywhere at the end of time before you heard this, this song may haunt you lol
0.75 speed and it starts to sound awfully familiar...
The marcels remastered this song in the early 60’s
heartaches ❌
*is just a burning memory* ✅
What’s “Edison Bell”? I thought Edison was in Diamond Disc
Though I can't quite say that the spectacular Weems version has entirely spoiled me for every other version, it seems to be the yardstick with which I measure other "Heartaches." For me, this arrangement is merely pleasant; as is so often the case with sides on which the great Al Bowlly is present, the talented and tragic baritone turns the performance into something special.
@@rareblues78daddy Indeed!
@@rareblues78daddy but Bowllys vocal certainly does that..the rest of the tune is a bit lacklustre..tbh
Frankie Laine's version is pretty cool imo
@@brians78s94 Really good bass backing, plus I do like the sound, even if average, of the orchestra.
Why does this sound familiar?
just a burning memory
It was trending on TikTok for a bit 😂
it’s giving Rolie Polie Ollie
I’m sure it’s the same Sid Phillips who has some of his later songs appear in fallout 3
My grandma has the Patsy Cline cover of this
al bowlly. the lord of music. dont argue with me, your wrong
I understand this is very rare, but where is the best chance I could get the original 78
Mmmm....?
I wonder who won this for the 1.5k cad on ebay 😮
I don't blink
Give me more scratches and less digital squelch?

Everywhere at the end of time*
actually a decent song
who is here for the backrooms?🤣🤣🤣
I agree it fits in the Backrooms and still confused why peoples mixed Backrooms and The Caretaker
though. I know it's same same level of emptiness but only that?
@@aSonicfan-z7b Because the backrooms kids don't acknowledge anything else from the Caretaker. I think the backrooms themselves are pretty cool but the community treats EATEOT so poorly.
@@that1toad64 this statement is kind of ironic in itself, the caretaker didn't make eateot by himself
Any one else form Show Biz pizza?
Actually the rock afire explosion used the marcels version of heart aches.
Bruh moment

As somebody who genuinely loves this music (I'm 21 and I like this music without remixes and stuff) I don't know how I should feel about all The Caretaker thing, if happy because he's introducing this music to a new generation (Gen Z), or sad because "Everywere at the End of the World", where the remix of this record is featured, is scaring everyone for some reason...
Everywhere at the end of time is a music visualisation of Alzheimers disease and it is terrifying.
@@COMMODOOSA Uh oh
