LIFTING AND LEVELING THE SMITHY

I FINALY GOT TIRED OF LOOKING AT MY OUT OF LEVEL LATHE/MILL. I FIGUERED THAT SINCE I HAD TO LIFT IT OFF THE FLOOR ANYHOW THAT I WOULD TAKE THE OPPORTUNITY TO RAISE IT UP SOME SO THAT I DON'T HAVE TO BEND OVER WHILE OPPERATING IT.

congrats on raising it. in 2 weeks, once the lathe has settled, get a good machinist level, and do some fine tuning on the shims under the legs, to take out any twist that may be in the lathe bed. th-cam.com/video/dnhT88kSUh0/w-d-xo.html

Thanks! Yes too heavy for my old body to hump up a rickety ladder. The lathe has a way more comfortable standing position now. It's amazing what two inches can do sometimes!
