Canon 100mm Macro - best allrounder lens

Macro lens have been somewhat of a niche thing in some respects. That's not true though , remove the Macro terminology and you have a top tier bit of glass with some of the best optics and AF around. Why pay silly money for a portrait lens when you can have the best of both worlds with a lens which can cover a lot more.
