Yes, an 850w PSU is sufficient for a 4090 provided that you’re not overclocking the GPU & CPU etc. Always check the manufacturer power requirements for your own peace of mind first… 1000w would be better for breathing space if you like to tweak, but if you already have an 850w, for example, don’t feel pressured to upgrade in the event you have no intentions to run heavy clocks. This system has been running flawlessly for 4 days now in the most demanding games.
Also make sure that your mainboard doesn't do weird stuff to the powertargets of your cpu, my MSI Board comes stock with a 253 Watt Powertarget for a 13600kf (Intel rates it for 181 Watt), don't want your system to shut off just because your mainboard decides that the cpu should draw way more power than it's originally intended to do.
I saw nobody matching the color theme of this case so perfectly with the internal components. I love the look of this white strix 4090. In my opinion is nobody out there, who is surpassing your configurations. Thank you for sharing your art with us, Matt!
FYI for anyone else building into this case, the solid side panel on the front comes off so you can actually fit your GPU without issues. Just unscrew the thumbscrew up top and it comes right out.
İ really love this case and I want to build. But I’m confused a little. My GPU is 4090 and cpu is i9 13900k. The CPU runs so hot and this case thermals are good for it? What do you think?

I'm glad my father (also a PC enthusiast) recommended your channel to me not just to inspire me but to inspire us how to create a perfect build, awesone content right here 💯
This is just hit my spot, minimalistic, white, a little bit of wood theme and as always great video. Nothing to say more Matt, you’re my favorite pc builder.
Having just had to reseat a 4090 in a custom built computer -- looks like it was jostled a few times too many under transportation by a third party -- I have to say that I wish I had thought of finding smaller screws. The Fractal Design big screws are a great idea in many cases, making it a cinch to just tighten them by hand, but the 4090 cards do _not_ leave any room to speak of and it was a real bear to get them back in once the card was reseated. Beautiful build for what's easily one of the most beautiful mass manufacture cases I've ever seen.
Thanks so much buddy! ☺️🤜🤛 First build video in the new studio too, I think this was a great choice for it! Appreciate your support, let’s keep going 🤎🤍
Really do love the Fractal Design North case, that wood at the front just makes it stand out from the crowd and gives it character. Excellent build video again mate keep up the good work!
Love that I stumbled onto this channel and surprised it has less than 50k subs today. I wouldn't be surprised if this was 500k or more! Supreme quality videos, and I love the style. Keep up the great work ❤
Makes sense too, for a gaming PC you really only need a high end GPU (and then only if you're gaming at 1440/4k) everything else can be mid range or even low end with minimal impact on performance. Good way to keep cost down.
@@nekogod You need a high end cpu for a high end gpu even at 1440p and with 4090 at 4k also. Unless you want to sacrifice like half the performance and waste your money completely on such gpu.
@@MrJonas7 You'd be surprised, obviously a really weak cpu will bottleneck your gpu but you don't have to go super high end. At high or ultra most modern games will max out your gpu long before your cpu becomes a problem even with a mid range cpu. Yeah, I also have a Fractal North XL in white with a totally white/ grey build, totally love it. And I saw that you're also a BMW Zetti boy, subbed immediately :)
I'm finally getting this case and finally building my own pc, got a lot of experience from building custom pc's for customers and now it's finally time for my own
Thank you for this video! I have something very similar planned but in black instead of white, to match the black Fractal North case. I'm hoping the darker brown on the Noctua fans will match the wood slats just as nicely as they do in your build. The case is sold out everywhere (at least in northern Europe), and the ETA for the next batch is April 2023, just in time for the 7800X3D to be released. So excited to be building my first PC, and this video is going to help me a ton, so thank you again!

wow, just noticed the difference in the air visualization between the 240 AIO vs the 2 140's you had in the air cooled black North. really shows the difference.
I know the 850 might be enough but the price to jump up is so little and also the headroom is much appreciated. Less stress on the unit thus more efficient
Awesome build. I'm getting a couple of parts to finally finish my build next month and be future proof for when I eventually upgrade to a 40 series card. :)
@Mr Matt Lee i7 11700f 16gb going to be 64gb of ram next month games these days is going crazy with system memory this year lol. Thermaltake gf1 750w 80 plus gold going to be a corsair shift rmx 1000w to be ready for a possible 4080 or 90 in the future. Plus it'll help out with the power spikes my 3080 12gb does sometimes. :)

This build + your filming 🔥👀 Building almost this exact rig in the next couple weeks. 4070ti and a i7 2300F but other than that I'm going for the same thing and this gets me pumped for it
I never liked custom loops honestly... I think the PC World needs more amazing non-/Minimalistic RGB builds that arent completely Black or white. This design is a touch of freshness in an RGB-Black and White domiated world!
A really slick build, Great Camera work, beautiful shots and color grading. Also loving the airflow visualization. And the 4090 fits barely! I know there's a lot of different approaches for the application of thermal paste. But spreading it before mounting the cooler has got to be the worst. It'll ensure there will be tiny air pockets in the middle. A pea sized blob or a line of thermal paste in the middle (horizontal, vertical or diagonal) and then mounting the cooler will ensure an even spread without air pockets in the middle.
Spreading it before mounting literally avoids air pockets, as a "pea size blob" will more likely have an air pocket. Spread it all the way over, there's no harm it causes to anything if a tiny bit is out the side, but if you miss a patch because your "pea size" didn't fully spread to one end, that's bad news
@@ToxicWrench Sorry, but you're wrong. Also tiny air pockets on the side of the heatspreader arent as bad as airpockets in the middle, which happen if you spread the thermal paste before mounting. The goal is to avoid air pockets on the heatspreader in the areas where the "die" is located. Which for most chips is in the middle. So it's not bad news if it didn't spread fully to one end as long as theres no airpocket in the die area...

Just note it won't be as efficient or cool running near max capability compared to a 1200/1500w psu. Poor 4090 being squashed😄
I got a 1200 for my new build only because it was cheaper than the 1000 I wanted
@@Dmwntkp99 sure the PSU will be warmer, but that isn't a bad thing if it's designed well
I have never seen Noctua brown actually tie in with a color scheme so well before. Stunning.
i think they tie in even better with the walnut version of the case tho :/
I think the world is going more retro-themed with new technology. I like it.
Who need RGB?
noctua fans are ugly and doesn't match...that's ruined the build in my opinion...
Noctua fans age ugly AF. Love the case tho
