    Don’t move!!! Get started ASAP on seriously doing the expansion, odds are the new baby won’t even need a bedroom of their own for two years based on when you guys are planning on doing your transfer!! The land you have and neighborhood you’re in are both so wonderful, and with four kids that backyard is the perfect extra space for them. Don’t move!

    Check on adding an upstairs, sometimes they can build without disturbing the downstairs until the stairs are are ready to be installed.

    HOA's are evil, I would never buy with one and I totally recommend if you do move to look for a house that doesn't have one. You shouldn't have to pay more to be told what you can/can't do with your property. Even once your mortgage is paid off, you'll always have a payment. I do love your house though and I think it's perfect, I just hate that you're never really free with an HOA. 💞

      I don't think I could deal with it either. I'm in Canada and most places that have them are Condo buildings or townhouse complexes. Not common for detached houses to have HOAs. The house and property is great I hope they can find a way to make it work.

    Keep your house! Even as kids grow they often like to still stay in one part of the house. The bedrooms are literally just for sleeping. 2adults/3 boys; We moved from 3 bedroom house in CA to a 2 bedroom apartment in Houston (lived there comfortably for 4 years) and decided to buy our current 4 bedroom home. We have more room and guess what?!? Our 3 boys still like to spend most of the day with us downstairs or in master bedroom lol. Build onto your current home but don’t rush it and enjoy having your family under one roof (because that’s all that matters)❤️.

    • @annameyer3098
      @annameyer3098 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I wouldn’t agree that the bedrooms are for sleeping only. My siblings and I spent most of our teenage years in our separate bedrooms. Our parents were great, but as teenagers we didn’t feel like we wanted to spend all evenings with them. We always had friends coming over and did sleepovers. So I will definitely make sure my children can have enough privacy if they want to.

    • @nailsinblack
      @nailsinblack 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@annameyer3098 Yes, for some teenagers that’s understandable/works best for them (I grew up always sharing a room and loved it that way), my oldest son is now 13 and has the option to have his own room but decided to continue sharing a room with his brothers. As her kids get older they may/may not want their own room and that’s why it’s a good idea for them to expand their current home (but it’s not necessary right away since they’re still little humans). 😊

    I know you previously expressed concern about the boys language . A suggestion from a speech standpoint is to STOP using the baby voices when talking to them . And call everything by its CORRECT name (bird, horse, etc not tweet tweet and nay nays) it’s cute but it’s damaging to their vocabulary . LOVE Watching you guys grow ❤️

      Right. I/we never did the baby talk with my son .... even as an infant. Tone and inflection, as well as vocabulary, I/we talked to him like I would talk to you. I remember talking him for a walk, him in the stroller, in the evening to tier him out..... a neighbor stopped me, we chatted and when she saw him yawning, she bent down as said to him "Oh are you an eepy deepy baby" ..... he just frowned and side eyed her ..... she wanted to know why he was doing that, I told her that we don't do the goofy baby talk, and I told her to ask the question again, but correctly ..... "Are you a sleepy baby?" He actually nodded and then grinned. People (teacher included) marveled at his vocabulary .... they would say, "He sounds like a little old man!" ha ha He and my daughter in law did the same with their 2 children. Both were great talkers/large vocabularies when small .... and still are as college now in college.

      @@tinydancer7426 When my son was 2 1/2 he was going to watch his favorite show on TV . My brother ( a Marine) was visiting and yelled for my son , saying his show was going to start . My son came into the living room and said “ his show was preempted,“ my brother looked at me and asked “did he just say that his show was preempted “ and I said yep he did . We didn’t do the baby talk either . His vocabulary was very extensive for his age . But you have to do what works best for you and your child. No judgment on my part .

The last bedroom wasnt ready until my 3 halfsiblings were 11 (girl), 9 (boy) and 6 (girl) I had moved out 3½ years earlier and had a 2 year old by then. It was always rather "crowded" in the house. Especially when me and my son was visiting so pretty soon after I had my son he and I used the guesthouse.

    We built a house 4 years ago, but in Mississippi. I’m sure California has stricter building codes and standards. But building costs are so high right now. But I love your house. Add on make it your forever home. I can just see the kids growing up there. I’m praying for you guys to be able to make it your own, bigger HOME! Yes, everything takes longer than you think! Pray for strength and grace, but not patience, that comes with trials and tribulations. Lol. Love you guys.

    Sometimes having to work with what you have is a blessing. In a blink of an eye the kids will be outside playing on their own and you will appreciate that land you have. Why can't the twins share a room? Kids benefit greatly from sharing a room, they learn to share and to compromise and they draw comfort from being together. If you have more kids Emma could share a room too. If it takes 2 years to add on, big deal. You're better off adding equity to your property. Unless the HOA has a size limit on how big your house can be, I don't understand why they would have an issue with your plans. Especially since you won't be changing the curb appeal. Increasing the value of a home on land seems like a good investment.

    Find an architect to hammer out the design .... find one who will act as your liaison between you and the county/city to insure the architectural/construction design meets local building code, zoning, environmental, planning, etc. requirements AND between you and the HOA and their bullshit covenants regarding what you can and cannot do on your property. And then, when it comes time for construction to begin, find a general contractor who will take care of keeping all the trades on schedule ...... the architect should be able to steer you to someone reputable.

    Either try to add on to the house or find a 6-7 bedroom house so you have wiggle room for another baby and a office still

    My husband is opposite of you and we can never find his size in store. We buy all his jeans from American eagle because he needs 32x36”

    Yep Justin shops like all men. My son doesn't understand why women have so many names for the same color, he says blue is blue and that's it. He also won't randomly buy clothing either, except he did get cargo shorts so we could put everything in his pockets. I don't carry a purse even though i have way too many of them.

    Omgosh be careful buying from Instagram ads!! Make sure the items are from somewhere in the US and have a return policy set up. I’ve been BURNED by a couple of times. The things came from China and said they were returnable, if you wanted to spend $60.00 to send it back. That’s what they’re hoping. They get the money and never have to get a return. I vowed never to trust the ads anymore. The items were terrible, and I mean really terrible, and nothing that I expected. I realized they take pictures from legitimate sites and use them. And I’m not being “negative to China”. My husband is Chinese and he was the first to say not to trust the ads. Get a bounce house from a store here. Save yourself from a big headache.

    You shouldn't move. You don't need that many bedrooms. We raised 6 kids in a 3 bedroom house. 2 girls in one room and 2 sets of bunk beds. For 4 boys in the other.

    I thought she said it's like a giant acorn? If you look back at the clip, you can see what could look like an acorn, with a stem, although I think it looks more like a pumpkin.

    Could y’all feed the “neigh neighs”? You should stay where y’all all. You can’t make more land!! You’re in a perfect spot to add on.
