You have to be extremely skilled at both ski jumping and damage limitation to compete on hills like this. It's uncommon to even get injuries from falls, let alone die. Even though there are some kinda crazy jumpers who might fall more because of taking bigger risks (like Domen here or Robert Kranjec from earlier comes to mind), fatal accidents are extremely rare. I'd even say they are rarer than in for example football. Ski jumping is a safe sport if done under good guidance.
By leaning so far forward he risks literally flipping mid-flight. He's right on the edge - if he gets it wrong, the tops of the skis will catch air and once that happens, it's really hard to correct the ski angle in time as the air stream is fighting against the jumper, pushing the skis downwards. You may be able to do it if you have a lot of experience but it's much easier when the body position isn't as aggressive as his. As far as I know, he's been warned multiple times by coaches and older competitors that his bravery will end in tragedy one day.
