Suprised the Purifier wasn't mentioned. It can wipe hordes in a few full-charged shots, kill both types of overseer with two charged shots, and can completely shut down any offense from harvesters if not kill it outright.
Yup, tried it out today and it two taps em with a charged shot pretty much anywhere on the body. When they're clustered up you can sometimes get a two for one. It handles Voteless pretty well too, uncharted shots can be used for emergency moments, but fully charged blasts take out hordes nice and easy
I used the purifier in my first few missions and I think that it's ammo economy isn't great for the voteless. I haven't tried it with the new armor passive so maybe it's works with that now but the amount of ammo you expend against rhe illuminate is tough
Regular guard be a bit ineffective against Voteless if it locks onto a target and starts to miss, but is excellent at bipping jetpack and regular Overseers. The rover cuts a swath into a crowd, when one dies it sweeps across picking another target, setting them ablaze
Id like to mention that the guard dog scored a kill on a harvester in one of my earlier games. It may take a moment and require some circumstances but when it finds its mark it knows to shoot the eye.
I just finished a level 10 operation (3 mission in a row) and was able to extract every time. The secret? Ballistic dog + blitzer. Didn't even brought a support weapon! Ballistic dog is S tier. Let you focus on the illuminate while it kills the voteless.
For now, I think the Arc Thrower is top tier against squids. In the narrow streets it can easily deal with any hordes, but it is also good against the tripods, as the arc thrower can perma stun them. You can bring a sentry or a 500Kg to finish them off quickly as you lock them in place. And yes, it also works with the Tesla tower. Throw in a Tesla Tower near the spawn area and it will deal with everything by itself, including the tripods. You can even throw in a shield generator to keep it extra safe.
As an arcthrower enjoyer, the first match I fired a couple rounds and thought it didn't work. Played two days worth of missions testing other weapons... came back to the arc thrower and man it stuns everything in the squid vanguard, massively wiping out the mobs. Also using the new shield which is crazy strong with the regular smg and the Lance as secondary. Really holds and clears the streets.
Arc thrower can also stun literally every single enemy making it ridiculously good as a support weapon. You can stun 3 harvesters at once, stun lock watchers easily.
@@jessedconner Yep, arc thrower and blitzer are my go tos when playing, they practically solo the hordes. I'm trying out other builds now, so I'll see what other combos I can pull off without them
Heck yeah, I been rocking arc trower, Tesla tower and spray and pray with the grenade pistole as an all arounder. due to still being a few crash bugs in game or people just rage quitting I prefer an all around build that can deal with anything. spray and pray is awesome to remove the shields of the ships or the tripods. also gets rid of the zombies in one shot and it is especially fun to shoot away there legs. Also this gives you a good reson to take the arc resistance arrmor since the illuminate take a bunch of ark weapons as well. just been loving this update!!!
The extreme number of different weapon recommendations in these comments really drives home that the illuminate are well designed to accommodate for different preferences. I’m on team AC/AMR for now. But I do love having a strong reason to run the MGs.
Try the Arc Thrower!! Anything that doesn’t die in one shot will be perma stunned. I run the AR Dog to cover any stray chaff that run close and it can kill overseers of any type easily (often with headshot while I stun them). Arc thrower can bully harvesters and keep them in one spot, stop the watchers from calling in support and it has like 40meters of range lol.
Unironically, the Knight has been a great primary to deal with not just Overseers, but also to get rid of the stationary ships shields fast to toss a grenade in. Great hit and run weapon
@@thiccfila It drops down shields very fast and doesn't require the whole mag to do so. Knight/Grenade Pistol combo has been my go to for base clear without relying on stratagems.
I like that the MG support weapons are seeing more use thou I kinda wish that love extended to the ARs and SMGs. The new armor feels great but it’s made me realize 10 mags should just be the default for these types of weapons. As is they feel outpaced by the usual suspects and Illuminate was supposed to be their time shine.
Yeah I feel like the faster reload speeds and more ammo capacity on the new armor should just be the default that ARs and SMGs have at base, and then the armor should just give them some more
@@ThePackman627Honestly ARs (or all guns) should see a upgrade tree in the future to increase mag sizes but sacrifice other stats like reload speed, ergonomics, etc, so a full level 3 AR could have maybe 50-60 round drum mag, increased higher caliber damage (pen would be very broken) and then even more reserve or soemthing else
I’ve been using the Blitzer for my primary exclusively for the Illuminate. Tried a few others but between the Blitzer’s decent rate of fire, wide auto-hitting firing cone, good damage, ability to stun larger enemies and watchers, and INFINITE AMMO, nothing else can compete with it in my opinion.
This. I've been running Super Helldive with blitzer as primary and it was super consistent. And like you said it stuns everything. For support weapon i bring recoilless as usual to deal with the harvesters, and grenade pistol for extra utility for outpost clearing.
Blitzer + ballistic guard dog is a s tier combo. I've finished a level 10 operation being able to extract each time and didn't even bring a support weapon
The Reprimand is also quite fantastic on this faction due to being good at both spray and pray horde clear, AND being amazing at dealing with the jet pack overseers. In particular I think it’s great at dealing with the many flying units by having high DPS, and almost hits scan projectile speed. It’s great for popping the packs off their backs! Plus medium armor pen!
Flamethrower is also a very strong pick against squids. It can deal with pretty much every ennemy unit, including tripods. For that, you need to aim at their main body and you can take one down with about one magazine. But to use it effectively, you need to bring electrical conduit armor because tripods will try to zap you if you attack them upclose. The small drones that call reinforcements can also zap you. Both usually result in a one shot death which can be very frustrating. Without EC, both are very likely to be a one shot, whereas the armor lets you not only survive but take so little damage that you can tank more than 10 zaps with ease. The only downside is that it slows you down quite a lot for about 3 seconds. You also need to be careful about their legs as they can stomp you, and you also need to stay on your guard because small units can sneakup on you while you're aiming upwards.
Have you been getting connection issues, I have but it seems like in certain friend lobbies it doesn't get affected just quick play. Heard its happening to quite a few
It's affecting me too. Even on solo missions I get bad ping. Whenever I do try to do anything in multiplayer, I either can't join, the host disconnects, or I loose connection within the first 5 minutes of the game.
@@Tachyon_77 yeah when I try quick play I disconnect within like 30 seconds everytime, but when ive been invited to lobbies by friendlist then I rarely get crashes???
Well, the only times I crashed in this update so far have been from quickplay lobbies. Yesterday I had a few good matches as host. No general lag issues tho, just random crash outs
me too, but since ever the game came out, nothing new. there is one friend who always disconnects or who cant make a lobby. he works in IT and he assures me its not his system.
also shoutout to the tenderiser, on 850 rpm it can 1 mag the ufo base shields extremely fast, also shreds zombie hordes and doesnt do too bad vs the illuminate soldiers
the halt shotty pairs very well with the AMR. the stun rounds are super nice for locking down the ranged units for easy crits, especially the flying ones that always seem to move right as you line up a shot. the crisper and frags can handle the hordes just fine
Halt's stun rounds are great for dealing with the jetpack Overseers. Even better if you're in a good group and your buddies light them up as soon as you stun them. It's not the best for dealing with shields though.
As someone who typically roams the map semi-solo to handle side objectives, outposts, and POIs, I run Scorcher/Stalwart/Commando/500kg/Rover. Stalwart handles Voteless and pops shields while the Rover cleans up Voteless as well. Scorcher is reserved for Overseers. 500kg is for taking out spawners quickly and the Commando to handle harvesters. Basically I have enough firepower to handle any Voteless and Overseers I come across but enough mobility to evade Harvesters until my 500kg or Commando are off cooldown.
Just so people know the most consistent loadout that will give you success most of the time is a full laser build were you bring the laser guard dog, the laser cannon and the sickle with a grenade pistol and your choice of grenade. The crazy thing about this build is you got endless streams of fire because your guard dog is consistently just going to be firing Non-Stop and if you fire into a crowd with your laser cannon before it overheats you switch to your sickle and then before that overheats you switch back to your laser cannon and you got endless fire. And not to mention that the laser cannon is amazing for taking out tripods because you can laser off their horns in half a second to disable their shield generation and then you shoot the laser straight into one of its joints and it dies in like 3 seconds.
I’ve been loving the torcher with the fire res armor. There have been situations of being trapped in an alleyway and the torcher just mows down 30+ voteless as a last stand scenario and I live because of the armor. Really fun. It’s insane against the Voteless but bad against the squids, need to make up for it with your support weapon.
I've been having decent success with the Tenderizer, verdict, recoilless combo. If you get the shot right you can take the tripods with one rocket. I've had bugs where the gatling turret wouldn't target the zombies properly so I started using gas on the hordes, eagle strafing run also feels fantastic when you send it down a street.
The Eruptor can stop the laser attack from the tripods, and win time for a stratagem call for your allies. and it two shot other ennemies, and can take out illuminate bases
this faction has opened people's third eye to how underrated the medium machine gun is, i honestly love using it on all fronts also hi thicc hi hiiii :333
Ive found the Scorcher to be a great weapon against the zombies and overseers, the Arc Thrower is also a great pick. Really hope they wont "fix" the new passive.
Unironically, the ultimate 5 laser loadout is great. If you have multiple people running this load out it is visually amazing and hilariously effective. Pro tip: For overseers, shoot hold the laser cannon on their upper thigh. It melts them pretty fast. Weapons: Primary: LAS-5 Scythe Secondary: LAS-7 Dagger Grenade: Your choice Strategems: Support weapon: LAS-98 Laser Cannon Backpack: Guard Dog Rover Orbital Strategem: Orbital Laser Final Strategem: Your choice (I like bringing the orbital rail cannon because it's almost like another laser lol) Armor: I like the new scout armor, gives an extra heat sink for the Scythe, or a set of medic perk armor
I run the P-4 Senator, it can kill Tripods. You can use your primary to take down the shield and then use the Senator (on the eye) and take it down in 3-4 precise shots (more likely all of the mag on/around the eye).
Been digging the scorcher myself. I wanted to keep running gas nades but they just have no consistency reliably popping the spawners so Im going with fire impact nades from now out. Tesla tower's not too shabby with this faction so far either. Bugs and bots it gets stomped so quickly but in the cityscape you can get some decent placement and rack up a ton of kills on the Voteless
For support weapon I was pleasantly surprised to see how well the laser canon held up, it tears up shields, munch throught the voteless, and the sectacle of a Harvester being lit up by 3 beams is priceless
the thing many players don't get about the machine guns in that game is that they are the scalpels of the support weapons. The can be used with minimal collective damage around other players if you aim carefully, but can also cut down one strong enemy with precise shoots on their weak points. And on top of that they are good to moow down light armored hordes.
Hey, Thicc. I said on the stream that I was using the RR and it was fun and good. Well, it was before I learned exactly where to shoot the Tripod leg joints. Tested almost all Support Weapons and my conlusion is that MMG and HMG are the best choices vs the Iluminates. My favorite is the MMG. My favorite build so far is: Peak Physique Armor Halt Senator Gas Nade MMG MG Sentry 500kg Orbital Gás Strike Halt in stun mode trivialize the Ilums soldiers. Just 1 shot stuns them. Then I can choose 1-shoting to the head with Senator or bursting with the MMG. For clearing the zombies hordes, gas + MG sentry. The cooldown is so low that it is Always available.
SPARTAN TAKE YOUR SHIELD TAKE YOUR SPEAR WE GO TO WAR yeah, thats my build, throw a explosive crossbow to the mix and there you go Oh yeah and get peak physique of course
Honestly I've found that the crossbow is the best overall: Overseers/jetpack guys die in 2 body shots or 1 headshot takes out about 6 voteless in one shot if they are grouped together (which they are because they come in swarms) takes out harvesters/tripods in 3 shots to the leg joint takes out grounded warp ships in one shot to the door (after getting the shield down) can destroy illuminate tesla towers in 1 shot It has an answer for basically every single unit the Illuminate have (at the moment...)
Been loving the regular mg sentry over the others for that short cooldown. Throw it in an intersection and it shreds while acting as a decoy. By the time its down you have another ready or on the way
Crossbow is too good of a weapon to be locked behind a warbond. I think they should replace Current one with a heavy crossbow with less ammo better pen and damge. And add a new page to vanilla warbond for xbow so everyone can use it
@@LawrenceLightbeerIV just grind some super credits on low diff missions. I have only bought like 1 warbond and that was steeled veterans right when the game was new.
My working meme build so far has been: Heavy Peak Physique, Breaker Spray n Pray for the masses, Shock Baton for when I want to hit things, AMR for anything tankier, Impact nades and the Guard Dog. It's been working relatively well so far.
xbow and stalwart pair really well too, stalwart good for zombies and floating triangles, crossbow good for the overseer variants and 2 shots all of them to the chest and kills tripods decently fast
Problem of the stalwart is that light penetration... it is useless against the heavy mobs, the MG is way better than the stalwart, it take down everything including tripods, though it is close to an entire magazine in the eye to down it.
I’ve had a lot of success with the scorcher, laser pistol, impact incendiary, and recoiless Eagle strafing to pop shields, basic turret for quick reuse and to distract harvesters/clear hordes, orbital gas strike to distract overseers, and you can take a favorite in as a forth
I've been running the sickle and the hmg as a support weapon. As long as you can control the drag the hmg will basically melt any of the harder enemies and obviously deletes tripods in their weak points.
I had a lot of succes with the Pummeler - staggering hordes, overseers, and even Watchers (!) to stall them from calling reinforcements. It also pairs well with the directional shield, but this strat requires teammates who know how to stay in a tight group so they can make use of your support role and shoot the things you stun.
The way y'all forget about the Blitzer shotgun (arc thrower) is criminal, it stuns every enemy except for the tripod and will immediately stop a surveyor from calling in help, that and it arcs to many more mobs. Give it a try it's unlimited ammo and is good for both mobbing and killing brutes and fliers (fliers are a bit tougher but if they are close they get stunned and can't shoot you and are stuck in one spot till they die) pair that with a secondary of your choice and a support to take care of tripods. That build alone got me through super helldives. Give it a try.
@Zetheek solid strat I didn't think of that, I've been running the shield backpack since the creek so I've never really thought of changing it out, I'll give it a try next dive. Appreciate the call-out Diver. 💪🏻
breaker spray and pray underrated vs illuminates fr. takes out shields of 2 ships with 1 mag. then kill with grenade pistol arc thrower- stuns literally everything guard dog strafing run flame turret for hordes- it can casually get 80+ kills
for the harvesters you can use the explosive crossbow to 3 shot the shield and throw thermites and the crossbow also two shots the overseers and good for crowd control for the voteless
I really liked the Cookout. The stagger is great on the beefy bois, and you can shoot once at a crowd of voteless, wait a few seconds and shoot again, and most of them will be dead. Great for mobility and utility. I'll try the AMR and jetpack next time I play. That looks pretty great.
A good all round build for the current illuminate missions/planet is, crossbow, bushwhacker (or other close range weapon), laser guard dog, heavy machine gun. With this build I’m normally more effective at clearing mobs and bases than the other 3 teammates combined. Also, there is so much ammo on the ground currently so you can have fun not being conservative at all
Can confirm as someone who loves the AMR, it works really well. Also shout out to th dominator as a primary that can oneshot the flying and brute squids if you can aim and headshot.
I'm surprised the Arc Thrower wasn't mentioned in this. The stagger animation it forces on hit cam give you some much needed breathing room, and while it's not the BEST in damage per say, it hits so many enemies so consistently (especially if you got the extra arc upgrade on your ship) while staggering them that even I as a flamethrower spammer can't deny that lightning is beating out fire right now.
Bring the Crisper flamer sidearm in any loadout to help deal with the zombie issue. After that, I use my primary slot for an AP3 weapon, like the Adjudicator/Liberator-Pen, then go with something like the Spear for support. Using a Stalwart/Eruptor/Crisper loadout works wonders too.
My go-to loadout so far has been Eruptor + Stalwart + Energy shield. Eruptor does really good damage vs the Striders (idk their real name), can destroy the grounded ships at their camps and two shots the shield and jetpack squids, although it's a bit harder to hit the jetpacks. Stalwart is just a better AR with a neigh bottomless mag that can mow down tons of zombies without reloading. Energy shield has helped a lot for when the game decides to throw 500 jetpack squids at you. Little note about the Eruptor: I am yet to unlock the crossbow, so it might be a better alternative to the Eruptor. I stopped playing when the explosives war bond came out and never finished unlocking it
We actually need a higher Voteless spawn rate for higher level missions, because with how easy it is to take down all the illuminate units, you usually at most end up mag dumping a horde of Voteless between objectives.
i recommend an eruptor and stalwart loadout, really great for just everything as long as you can head your shots with the eruptor and don't lose the stalwart too often
Crazy that no one here's talking about the Breaker, it's got great dps for punishing Overseers up close, you can mow down crowds with it and it tears through shields as it just spams buckshot like crazy
I found the regular punisher to be really effective, it one shots the voteless at close-medium and it staggers the jet packs and stick guys and with its large magsize and single round reload it is more then capable of taking out a horde easily
Do NOT sleep on the tenderizer and breaker s&p. Both these weapons pop shields extremely fast. I prefer rifles so I’ve been using the tenderizer and grenade pistol to clear heavy illuminate outposts in thirty seconds. I think the breaker s&p especially is a sleeper pick right now that’s only going to reveal more potential as time passes. I wouldn’t say it’s a top tier pick but I think it’s in a state similar to the blitzer pre buff. Once it gets that little something for it it’s going to be in an amazing place.
i've tried rocket sentry, for my it looked that worked really fine. down side is when horde of zombies is too close it's stop doing its job. what do you think about this choice and not gatling?
I really like the Crossbow and Machine Gun combo with the AR guard dog. I’m racking up 600-700 kills on level 7-8. Machine gun slaps the shields and the crossbow takes out mobs and encampments. Excited to try it on higher levels, just gotta throw my friends in the deep end.
Patch notes: "_The combination of flames and fast forward momentum in flight can have unexpectedly heated results. Aim responsibly!_" Me: Understood 👍 Also me: proceed to use both the Scorcher and jetpack together Normal people: love the new spear (especially with peak physic armors) Also normal people: don't use throwing knives because they're trash Me: use both in addition to my Scorcher and jetpack 🙃
surprised the arc thrower didnt make it. my friends discovered the illumantes weakness to electricity and once one of em brought an arc thrower they became quite trivial to fight.
For me, the stalwart seems invaluable. It clears faster than arc thrower and takes down shields in literally 1 second. Plus can reload while running. Then use crossbow for warp ships and mediums, thermite or 500kg for harvesters. I'm telling you, it shreds. I don't see how the other mgs are better in any way for this faction to be honest.
I’ve been enjoying the Adjudicator a lot for the squids. Nice all-rounder weapon that can deal with pretty much all the units decently well, even the walkers to a certain extent.
I’m now a filthy casual but I’ve tested several weapons and imo the best primaries I tried were Purifier Crossbow specially combined with the new armour perk that basically offsets their main weaknesses of ammo and reload time. I’ve been rotating secondaries atm but bushwhacker is a solid one for zombies. The frag grenades are surprisingly good now after buff bc of large quantities and large blast. My most used supports were laser bazooka and commando, but I haven’t tried many yet. The Tesla tower absolutely wrecks illuminate zombies and units, it’s almost too good, although I agree that normal mg turret is good bc of quick reload time and enemies low armor.
Medium pen weapons are highly recommended. Anything with medium pen will do. Can pen the head armor of the Overseers, and you can shoot the Tri pod in the EYE or Joints if you want.
I’m honestly shocked how good Reprimand is cause it’s not the best zombie clearing weapon; but it totally melts the Overseers, Watchers and does very well against the Harvesters as a primary
idk if I'd say it's good on it's own, but good if you work with your team. I've been REALLY enjoying pumeller with riot or directional shields It's like a solid B tier option that helps out the tem, and is fun if you want to play a "defender" archetype, protecting allies. It has some pretty heavy flaws, such as it's *terrible* at breaking shields, or the power cells for objectives. So you need to bring support or secondary that is good at that.
Tried using the Arc Thrower against the Illuminate it's effective against the Voteless and has good knockback against the Overseers, but it took me 5 shots to kill an Elevated Overseer but one upside is it can prevent the Watcher Drones from summoning Renforcements.
I sincerely hope they don't nerf the new armor passive giving ammo to all weapons you carry. It doesn't affect weapons with a backpack for ammo or any rocket launcher. It also makes the grenade launcher and AMR even better. Please I hope they don't nerf it, I think it's honestly fine as is, not even OP. Plus if you did run the Sickle or Arc Shotgun (can't remember the name) it would make any of those new armors literally useless.
Hordes of enemies, all clustered in the same place, little to no armor... well. One airburst rocket and 20 kills or more is very common here. Great weapon.
I love using amr for the squids. I pair it with the reprimand and torcher. The machinegun sentry feels like it falls short against the voteless as I feel it does not kill them quick enough. While gyattling sentry is able to keep up with things. Another thing I like is the gatling barrage. It kills tripod quite well. Great to drop while running away.
The reprimand smg is pretty good against these guys. It deletes the brutes and jetpack guys very quickly and also destroys all shields for ships and tripods in a mag or less.
the heavy machine gun is hard to use because the enemies are constantly moving side to side while the recoil is just shotgun spread. I do wanna say the secondary weapon flame thrower is such a useful weapon. gas and flamethrower is great against the zombies. so are the beam weapons.
Flamethrower works great against hte tripods too, just run up to them and they can't quite look down. You eat the arc hit and aim at their eye/tongue. The armor plate falls off and they cook in about a canister more or less, way easier bile titans or chargers
You mentioned the Plasma Punisher staggers, but you didn't mention that it also staggers the Harvesters (aka the tripods). I do not know the kill time with it, but the fact you can stagger them out of firing (or about to fire), helps a ton there too. Also, Machine Gun Sentry > Gatling Sentry.
As much as I love the Arc Blitzer and Arc Thrower, AH really needs to fix their targeting. I've noticed these weapons are more inconsistent against the Illuminate than bugs or bots. When they work, they're awesome... but I notice that sometimes the electricity will lock onto an Illuminate head (mostly the voteless) and shoot about a foot behind it. I also feel like they are very inconsistent at times in the urban areas because alot of debris and things like cars, streetlights, etc. interfere with the weapons' targeting.
Side note: at least update the voteless so they explode similar to small bugs when they recieve enough damage as a way to help clear the battlefield of excess corpses on the ground that also interfere with arc weapon targeting.
Punisher always does work for me, no matter the faction. The stagger is just too good to pass up for me. So, imagine my shock when I realize I need half my magazine size to kill an overseer with it...

THE BLACKS ARE STEALING?
Problem is we already have a high ammo capacity AR, the Stalwart.
The Blitzer my friends... The BLITZER STOPS the tripods....stops mobs, stops brutes... stoos EVERYTHING!
I'll have to try it again. I was getting overrun with its fire rate. But admittingly I haven't used the dog with it yet, I'll try that
I’m surprised nobody has been talking about it
I actually really like the new stun batton for the voteless as it has lots of fast wide sweeping attacks and you feel like doom guy.
both the melee weapons are so cool
i brought a stun baton with me to the bug front, you can easily 1v1 a charger with it lmao
Don’t sleep on the purifier, it 2 taps overseers reliable with full charger shots and it can be used for clearing hordes of voteless.
Agreed 💯
If they tune/fix the spread I think it'll shoot up a lot of people's rankings
Heard its happening to quite a few
yeah we have been getting some
It's affecting me too.
It also perfectly fits the color scheme of the new armor. It feels like the tenderizer was made for this new warbond.
I've been having trouble with the tenderizer. I fell the mag is too shallow to alternate between horde clear and overseer tagging
Scythe/Stalwart Build is great for the Illuminate. My side arm: Dagger.
the halt shotty pairs very well with the AMR. the stun rounds are super nice for locking down the ranged units for easy crits, especially the flying ones that always seem to move right as you line up a shot. the crisper and frags can handle the hordes just fine
the halt lowkey was feeling nice
Halt's stun rounds are great for dealing with the jetpack Overseers. Even better if you're in a good group and your buddies light them up as soon as you stun them. It's not the best for dealing with shields though.
Sickle is S tier, freaking love it.
Saw a guy running sickle and laser cannon combo tearing through the squid like a Japanese chef
Must study the weaknesses. The illuminate are too dangerous. Pay attention
i had a pretty good time using the JAR-5 Dominator with Machine gun and impact nades
Remember if your squid breaks it’s leg then you have to put it down.
Thicc bro I live for your build videos, your bot build with recoilless rocket sentry hmg emplacement and gas was chefs kiss
The Eruptor can stop the laser attack from the tripods, and win time for a stratagem call for your allies. and it two shot other ennemies, and can take out illuminate bases
this faction has opened people's third eye to how underrated the medium machine gun is, i honestly love using it on all fronts
also hi thicc hi hiiii :333
Ive found the Scorcher to be a great weapon against the zombies and overseers, the Arc Thrower is also a great pick. Really hope they wont "fix" the new passive.
Unironically, the ultimate 5 laser loadout is great. If you have multiple people running this load out it is visually amazing and hilariously effective.
Pro tip: For overseers, shoot hold the laser cannon on their upper thigh. It melts them pretty fast.
Weapons:
Primary: LAS-5 Scythe
Secondary: LAS-7 Dagger
Grenade: Your choice
Strategems:
Support weapon: LAS-98 Laser Cannon
Backpack: Guard Dog Rover
Orbital Strategem: Orbital Laser
Final Strategem: Your choice (I like bringing the orbital rail cannon because it's almost like another laser lol)
Armor:
I like the new scout armor, gives an extra heat sink for the Scythe, or a set of medic perk armor
No secondary weapon recommendations? I highly recommend the crisper against the squids
a top 3 secondary video doesnt sound half bad :)
@@thiccfila stick stick and drug dart
@@thiccfila redeemer and dagger do a great job of lowering shields on bases
I run the P-4 Senator, it can kill Tripods. You can use your primary to take down the shield and then use the Senator (on the eye) and take it down in 3-4 precise shots (more likely all of the mag on/around the eye).
stun baton, paired with jetpack. mount a tripod like a monster from monter hunter
The cookout is downright fun to use against the zombie mobs and can stunlock the baton and flying guys.
Great video Thicc
The AC deserves a shoutout because it can deal with every enemy they throw at you. Flak rounds for the zombies and AP rounds for everything else
I think flak mode is the way to go for overseers, especially for the jetpack ones. It takes 3-4 flak rounds to kill one
My favorite build so far is:
Peak Physique Armor
Halt
Senator
Gas Nade
MMG
MG Sentry
500kg
Orbital Gás Strike
Halt in stun mode trivialize the Ilums soldiers. Just 1 shot stuns them. Then I can choose 1-shoting to the head with Senator or bursting with the MMG.
For clearing the zombies hordes, gas + MG sentry. The cooldown is so low that it is Always available.
The Plasma Punisher also stagers the harvesters! You might need to aim for the eye, but it's crazy how effective this gun is.
SPARTAN
TAKE YOUR SHIELD
TAKE YOUR SPEAR
WE GO TO WAR
yeah, thats my build, throw a explosive crossbow to the mix and there you go
Oh yeah and get peak physique of course
I've found a squad doing this. It is overpowered. One handed machine gun + ballistic shield + spear. Sooooo fun.
Honestly I've found that the crossbow is the best overall:
Overseers/jetpack guys die in 2 body shots or 1 headshot
takes out about 6 voteless in one shot if they are grouped together (which they are because they come in swarms)
takes out harvesters/tripods in 3 shots to the leg joint
takes out grounded warp ships in one shot to the door (after getting the shield down)
can destroy illuminate tesla towers in 1 shot
It has an answer for basically every single unit the Illuminate have (at the moment...)
MG-43 is a General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG aka MMG) so it makes sense that it’s usable for everything =3
Been loving the regular mg sentry over the others for that short cooldown. Throw it in an intersection and it shreds while acting as a decoy. By the time its down you have another ready or on the way
How to kill that guy from half life: flamethrowmer
Plasma punisher actually staggers the tripods by the way, only if their shield is down.
Xbow is far and away the best weapon for the illuminates! 2 shots overseers and can disable shield and kill harvesters PLUS deal with the voteless
It's been working relatively well so far.
xbow and stalwart pair really well too, stalwart good for zombies and floating triangles, crossbow good for the overseer variants and 2 shots all of them to the chest and kills tripods decently fast
also kills the warp ships if you shoot it in the door
Problem of the stalwart is that light penetration... it is useless against the heavy mobs, the MG is way better than the stalwart, it take down everything including tripods, though it is close to an entire magazine in the eye to down it.
@@Tamachii12 aim for the leg joints it kills the tripod faster than shooting it in the eye
I’ve had a lot of success with the scorcher, laser pistol, impact incendiary, and recoiless
Eagle strafing to pop shields, basic turret for quick reuse and to distract harvesters/clear hordes, orbital gas strike to distract overseers, and you can take a favorite in as a forth
Use the baslistic dog backpack with the blitzer, it obliterates the overseers which while the blitzer has them stunned.
@Zetheek solid strat I didn't think of that, I've been running the shield backpack since the creek so I've never really thought of changing it out, I'll give it a try next dive. Appreciate the call-out Diver. 💪🏻
I've enjoyed bringing a Guard Dog and just finding a Machine Gun on the ground as my support weapon
Regular turrets are better, smaller cooldown, moving down the street and placing them at the intersections constantly, convinient.
breaker spray and pray underrated vs illuminates fr. takes out shields of 2 ships with 1 mag. then kill with grenade pistol
arc thrower- stuns literally everything
guard dog
strafing run
flame turret for hordes- it can casually get 80+ kills
Grenade launcher is nuts. Clears hordes with ease and two taps medium enemies, even with their shields up.
Cookout has been working really well for me. Clears hordes in a few shots and can deal with medium units. Pairs well with the hmg.
for the harvesters you can use the explosive crossbow to 3 shot the shield and throw thermites and the crossbow also two shots the overseers and good for crowd control for the voteless
I find it really hard to hit the jet pack ones though
@ True
I really liked the Cookout. The stagger is great on the beefy bois, and you can shoot once at a crowd of voteless, wait a few seconds and shoot again, and most of them will be dead. Great for mobility and utility. I'll try the AMR and jetpack next time I play. That looks pretty great.
A good all round build for the current illuminate missions/planet is, crossbow, bushwhacker (or other close range weapon), laser guard dog, heavy machine gun.
With this build I’m normally more effective at clearing mobs and bases than the other 3 teammates combined.
Also, there is so much ammo on the ground currently so you can have fun not being conservative at all
"Anti Material Armor" Or "Anti Material Rifle" ?
Can confirm as someone who loves the AMR, it works really well. Also shout out to th dominator as a primary that can oneshot the flying and brute squids if you can aim and headshot.
Scorcher, Purifier, and Adjudicator are very good for taking out overseers. Gas grenades and Orbital Gas Strike have been doing absolute work as well.
Railgun is elite, you just need something to crack the shields on tripods
shotguns are lowkey good at cracking the shields even from really far
Punisher or the Sickle. I really like the Sickle to spray the shields and then use the Railgun to actually do damage.
Ladies and Gentlemen, i offer you the ultimate solution.
Scorcher
Patch notes: "_The combination of flames and fast forward momentum in flight can have unexpectedly heated results. Aim responsibly!_"
Me: Understood 👍
Also me: proceed to use both the Scorcher and jetpack together
Normal people: love the new spear (especially with peak physic armors)
Also normal people: don't use throwing knives because they're trash
Me: use both in addition to my Scorcher and jetpack 🙃
@sapphomett scorcher is the plasma rifle not the flamethrower
@@Micholex my bad, I though of the Torcher 😅
surprised the arc thrower didnt make it. my friends discovered the illumantes weakness to electricity and once one of em brought an arc thrower they became quite trivial to fight.
I’m now a filthy casual but I’ve tested several weapons and imo the best primaries I tried were
Purifier
Crossbow
specially combined with the new armour perk that basically offsets their main weaknesses of ammo and reload time.
The laser cannon has been working like a charm for me, good vs brutes, jet packs and tripods
Some absolute GOAT's are the Purifier, Arc Thrower, Stalwart, Sickle
Medium pen weapons are highly recommended. Anything with medium pen will do. Can pen the head armor of the Overseers, and you can shoot the Tri pod in the EYE or Joints if you want.
Joint mainly cause the eye has a lot more health, more than the joint
The Reprimand is also great, it shreds brutes and jetpack dudes. Carry the MG with you and you can handle everything. Gas grenades are also top tier.
Apparently the flamethrower just melts the Harvesters
Def need to run the arc armor with it
Nope.
Yup
I love using amr for the squids.
I pair it with the reprimand and torcher.
The machinegun sentry feels like it falls short against the voteless as I feel it does not kill them quick enough. While gyattling sentry is able to keep up with things.
Another thing I like is the gatling barrage. It kills tripod quite well.
Great to drop while running away.
Illuminate 'tank' equivalents are going to be terrifying.
Pummeler and run and shoot is fun. The stagger helps it a lot. Will stagger over Sears after a few shots in.
Blitzer, Arc Thrower, Guard Dog Rover
All you need, no ammo refills necessary
Rover needs ammo refills though, it can go out of ammo
@VatelFak No, the Guard Dog Liberator runs out of ammo. The Guard Dog Rover doesn't.
The liberator one is much better though.
As that one guy from world war z once said ''the spine's divine, those knees, they work just fine!''
