ERITREA 🇪🇷- What's It Like to Travel There?

  • Eritrea remains one of the least visited countries in the world for a reason. On top of the visa issues, in order to travel anywhere outside of the capital - Asmara, or attend national events you need each individual permit. These permits aren’t the easiest to obtain due to the country’s bureaucracy and they’re often rejected.
I spent a full week exploring different corners of Eritrea, one of the most mysterious countries in the world.

I visited Eritrea for a few days in 2005 as leader of a diplomatic delegation. It was a surprisingly delightful experience.
Asmara is serene and peaceful city. Excellent weather, simple and welcoming people.
    Always wanted to visit again.

If you are interested, there are going to be permanent changes all around the world. People are going to have the most powerful & most caring government in the universe ruling over our planet soon.
      Psalm 37:10,11
"Just a little while longer, and the wicked will be no more; You will look at where they were, And they will not be there.11 But the meek will possess the earth, And they will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace."
      Daniel 2:44
“In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed. And this kingdom will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it alone will stand forever,"

The food are great, the people friendly.Fresh vegatables a plenty. But meat scarce. If you enter a shop the price rises immediatly. I never had any issues with visas or whatssoever. I always make sure that when i travel to a foreign country i get myself a dedicated taxi driver. Then you are sorted. Blessings to Eritrea.

The people deserve better ERITREA could become the dubai of Africa given it is people believe in hardwork to build their country 🤔 Eritrea used to be called little Italy !!

As an American soldier that was stationed there in 1972 and 1973 I can understand what you are saying. In the beginning of your video you showed the big church. I was married in that church on October 28 1973. I remember when that old Fiat building was open for business. There were no junk yards around Asmara at that time and I would imagine the US could be responsible for some of that junk. When you were there did you ever hear about the old US Military base which is also way up on a hill. I would love to see that but I would imagine it would also be one of those places they would not let you see. Things on the local market did cost more and things on post for the Americans were very cheap. I remember paying less than 30 cents for a gallon of gas and 10 cents for a can of Pepsi with a pull tab. We used to string them together and hang them around our rooms. Dang we were stupid. We had reel to reel players and 8 tracks that allowed us to hear Led Zeppelin playing Stairway to Heaven which had just been released in 1971 I believe. We spent many nights on the beach in Massawa and that big round hotel on the water that's called the Dahlak was called the TTU and was run by the Military for the Military. I only wish you could of seen Eritrea or as we called it than Ethiopia in the good days when Hallie Selassie was still His Majesty and by the way I saw him 2 times on post. I was part of the Military Police Security team when he visited. He seemed to be a great man and never would of let his country become what it is today. The greed of a few can take away so much from so many. Thank you for sharing this with an old man and if you have anymore video you would like to share about your visit I would love to see it.

After watching your video I think I may have to research more and more about Eritrea to form my final impression. Whatever the opinions I expressed right now is based on my two days U Tube experience which I think not enough to form any opinions worthwhile.

This video was only made with political intention of defaming the country.

Thank you for sharing amazing video clip. I, an Ethiopian guy, can tell you how bad, devastating and evil war is like. The junk stockpiles you stood over and glanced and wouldn't be able to take photos of containers reminded me of Mengistu's brutal dictatorship that led the two countries into hell of unjust suffering. Eritrea has suffered much both in Mengistu's regime and his successors in such was that they have been excommunicated from international cooperations and bilateral benefits. You singled out and tell me one truth about cleanliness; I dare say to you that cleanliness is their Trademark.
