7:34 Do you know Filmon.... LOL! Asmera is not a little village where everyone knows every resident. Or is this Filmon guy a celebrity? By the way I am sure the taxi driver and his passenger wouldn't appreciate that you show the whole world what they were saying in private.
15:30 UTOPIA this young man is refering to the quality of the Eritrean people, despite the difficulties the Eritrean people keep their good values and morals intact!
    28:36 Castor
29:02 chickpeas, it starts like this🤣🤣! It is even tastier when you eat it raw just as they were doing it. This might be strange for someone who usually sees chickpeas in a bottle or plastic bags.
29:25 what is the name of this cafe, really? I love how he showed you the name.
31:50 well, if people want to use it why not? It is like keeping cars from the 50's don't you think?
36:32 Correction! Only those who can't open their own account not every customer because it sounds like she helps all their customers.

Right now, many of our people are fighting in the war.

You can see the man getting hit in the head on this TH-cam video.
      Nothing is peaceful.

Hello JayPiper, I was fascinated with this video you made of Asmara. I was there around 1972-1974 with the U.S. Army. I was stationed at Kagnew Station, and was 19 yrs. old. I was trying to see the areas of your video , the places I use to drive around. It changed somewhat, but still has the old look in some of the places. Haile Selassie came to our base and I remember he was a short guy, but a powerful Emperor. I and a few others got a villa and resided outside the gate. We even took trips on weekends to go to Massawa and did boat trips. Driving down the mountains from Asmara to the Red Sea is all memories now. I am from Hawaii, and I often think of Ethiopia. Asmara, Ethiopia was good to me the Country and the People.

If u had a local guiding u everywhere, u would have seen only his side of the city and u wouldn't have had the first-hand experience u just had. So don't be afraid to continue doing so as in Eritrea u can even walk by urself @ midnight (bt I don't recommend that in other countries 😉). I believe that it is the strong nd vibrant culture by itself that nurtured discipline and tolerance in our country. So stealing wasn't a thing of our forefathers and for sure isn't ours either. Hey brother, please use some sort of musical background to remove the conversations that the taxi cab driver and the lady were having. The driver and the lady that was seated in the front were talking about personal matter that they don’t want anyone to listen to. So, please be considerate about other people’s personal privacy. First, ask them if they want to be videotaped. Second, blur their faces. It’s not ethical to brandish people’s private life to the public. And they don’t have any idea that you will upload it to TH-cam. I hope you understand and be respectful to any country’s culture and traditions.

@@Eri_Bella Chill bro! There’s no need to be rude. I’m sure he’s Considerate enough not to show the lady’s face. Given the fact that he doesn’t even understand the language you can tell it was not done intentionally.

@@sebkedem9410 He needs to understand that being culturally humble and respectful society, and actually nice people to others, doesn’t make us a foolish society. We have a great tradition in our country that gives foreigners a great deal of respect. However, that shouldn’t be translated into saying that we don’t know anything. They could have snatched his camera and get him out of the country. But that’s not what we stand for. You can see the driver wasn’t too comfortable when he saw that he was being recorded in plain sight. But, like I said, as a society we are very shy to speak up for our cause, and often we choose to just let it go in order to avoid arguments. I hope he sees this comment thread and edit the video.
