I used to work in a children’s ward. It was AMAZING to see how well positional drainage and percussion worked on the little people. I was thinking of getting a percussive massager so I can do it on myself 😁
I wasn’t doing it - the physio was. The babies would often be asleep. The percussion loosens the mucous, so it can be coughed up, I would assume Maybe some were suctioned as well. I didn’t see that - but it would be likely. One of the staff commented on the amount of mucous that came out of these little ones, with this treatment. I haven’t worked in a hospital in almost 30 years. But I do know - that lack of repositioning - and movement - is an absolute killer in ICU. A simple turning from one side to the other can save a life - and from what I’ve seen and heard - it doesn’t happen often enough these days.
This is an example of EXCELLENT content. As a viewer I want to thank you sooooooo much. This is soooooo precious.
