- Diesel 10 RULES and causes HAVOC, but please bring back the classic villain face, the CGI one is lame.
The Thomas & Friends Trackmaster sets I cover are Diesel 10 Takes Charge, Brave Belle and Fiery Flynn. All are associated with the DVD 'Day Of The Diesels'.
There is also a curious look at two 2010 Diesel 10's versus a 2011 Diesel 10. Also a goof reel!

@leokimvideo The flatbed that comes with Flynn is the same model as the green one used in the japanese Thomas Freight Set. I have some of these flatbeds and you can put on them the tiny characters of Trevor, Terence and Caroline plus a coil of wire from a trucks and track pack, but not much else.

@cyberkidmfb every great children's story needs a core scary villain, just look how Disney do it, sadly the softening of diesel 10 has me thinking he's soft as, possibly the real danger is Diesel, he's always causing real trouble
I love the music when diesel 10 smashes everything in his way like he is the inferno van and the takedown 4x4 from my favorite game burnout paradise and my second favorite is GTA 5 lol

@Damocles178 i agree about wheel placements and lack of function, it is actually something a few other tubers have picked off
i wonder if what we have on Belle is all about cost cutting, OR does she have a very unusual wheel set up compared to other large Thomas characters. still the overall look of Belle is a win in my books

@Designandrew not sure if you know but my jet engine friend passed away and it was something I did when I was 20 something, now I am 40 something
the days of starting up jet engines in the backyard in suburban Sydney are over, these days neighbors are far more aggressive and tend to see it all as something the police need to deal with, basically it's not 1980, 1990 any more, i feel people today are very different compared to 20 years ago.
This brings me back I remember being so young wanting this so badly the nostalgia is crazy.

@Stuingtion yes, thats the only way I could get the smashing seed and energy required for those shots, in real time Diesel 10 would appear as a blur to a video camera recording normally

@Lepper36 on the caper of villains just look how Disney tackled this over the years, even with Snow White the face of evil was a very strong character, one of Diesel 10 key character traits for me was his face it was in my mind perfect years ago
@TrainzXtreme yes, i have never worked out why some take C batteries and others AA, thinking like a cave man wouldn't it be wise to use the same battery in all if it's not a tender engine
@simierski bm22 is doing the feature a video to gain a shout out, it may be worth doing it for a freshen up of yoru channel to a new audience
the take n play ( take alongs in my brain ) are very nice, i also love den and dart but yet to see a new diesel 10

@donaldengine9 well said, but one tiny and very cheap sticker would have made this set look like far better value considering the previous sets came with TT
maybe two DW tankers would have been a better choice of rolling stock, no face trucks don't do it for me

I remember watching the video when it was brand new...like 3 weeks old! And now look! ITS 6 YEARS OLD. Only 7 days after my 6th birthday and now I'm 12! well as I write I've got about a week before it happens

@PokelordEX maybe if enough people ask for the classic Diesel 10 face to return we may give the Thomas masters something to think about. It would be nice to see if they care about what the audience wants.

The old face on Diesel 10 is a must! I think the producers think he looks too 'scary' with his old face. The smudges on him add detail, which is lacking in his older versions.
@kkehoe5 it sounds like a jet engine trying to start up, i have had so many tubers contact me about doing rocket powered TM stuff, initially I thought they wanted to see a model rocket engine strapped to Thomas until I saw all sorts of videos explaining the gear and battery mods
I'm late to the party again, my apologies. Now hosted, looks fun so far (yes, bring back the old face!)
I have a complete explanation of why they gave Deisel 10 a new face. You always have to remember this is a little children's toy and it might scare some younger kids. Although I do prefer the old face but hey at least you still have one.

@Lightninging63 correct, but you know a sharpie is sort of a new thing in Australia, the first time i saw one was when I worked with an American well before they were where I live, mind you this was quite a few years back
normally we say texta or permanent marker when speaking about items like sharpies

@Stuingtion well it's better than no colour at all ( color for the USA ), the lack of basic detailing is very disappointing
I think it might've been mentioned elsewhere, but for me, the new Trackmaster face is supposed to be the CGI "menacing look" as seen on the box art. D10 does get some pretty good expressions in DotD when he gets either cross or is scheming.

from what I see it's now impossibly to pick up a diesel 10 in the shops, he's becoming hugely popular again

I noticed that there was a difference in wheel color with the Take-and-Play and Trackmaster Belle. Trackmaster Belle's wheels were red while Take-and-Play Belle's wheels were purple

Everybody from the late 90s early 21st century (me) will remember the old Diesel 10 face. GIVE US BACK THE OLD, THREATENING FACE WE ALL KNOW AND L0VE!!!!!
In my words, I like the new face better. Don't get me wrong, the older face is nice, but to me the new one seems a bit more devious and sinister. I never collect Trackmaster, but I like the more detail on Flynn's water tank truck then his other counterparts. And I really like the Take-N-Play versions of Belle and Flynn, very detailed.

@argtyl it should be painted in the toy factory, this sort of thing is I feel really annoying
@TrainzXtreme my war about details on toys is only just starting, these massive toy factories can easily do this sort of detailing, it's almost like they do the absolute minimum required
all i ask is for you to look at chuggington for a example of good detailing, seems thomas don't think it's important any more

Continued: However the wheel size they've chosen for the lead and trail wheels for Belle might've been ok if they were functional and touched the track; it just looks silly having the driving wheels and two other sets that don't even touch the ground

Leo, I noticed something strange in the Trackmaster item lists that come with stand alone engines here in the U.S. The Diesel 10 art has the old face, but new model. I haven't bought or seen a Diesel 10 at my local Target, so I can't say for sure what the model looks like, but the art work was very curious.

Diesel 10 is my favorite villain from Thomas and I would like to have seen his old face on his 2011 toys. Also I agree with you that toy makers are not putting enough detail in their toys.

some reason, but I don't see anything wrong with it I have a 2012 CGI Trackmaster Diesel and
I enjoy it but only when I use it on Display like I always do

I think the old and the new faces miss the mark.The old one is to big and the new one is SO HAPPY!I think they should make a brand new Diesel 10 with a moving claw and a better face.I think the opening claw is cool. :)
