@@marianne22222 you’re a different person at say 30 than you were at 20 so you’re going to have a different experience with the movie based on life experiences, changing taste, level of knowledge, etc.
Glad they picked In The Mood For Love. It doesn’t get picked very often in these videos. Excellent picks and video all around 😁 PS: loved their costume design work for Black Swan 🦢
at some point a long time ago I heard these two talk about Three Women (probably on this channel) and I had to find it and watch it, and I was not disappointed. Now I always associate them with that movie
@@prtvrtl for some reason I find Shelly Duvall's talking in that movie to be really relaxing, even though I think it's supposed to make the audience anxious haha
Criterion should just start picking random employees to do these. I just wanna hear other Criterion dweebs geek out in the closet, they don't even have to have done anything.
Just watched "In A Lonely Place" last week. Great Noir film and a great relationship drama/thriller. A haunting movie with an incredible twisted performance by Bogart.
Hoping to look for a-list hollywood stars or singers to come and pick movie that define them or of their choice. It will be amazing to see some well known celebrities, it's after all like a library of book, as many other youtube channels that are able to start showing appearance of guest stars. Yet why this is behind. It will be like celebrates recommending some of their fav collections
Well, I have to make an amazing film first, but when I get my chance I shall do just that. "Well, I was thinkin' about gettin' 3 WOMEN but ever'bady gits that one so I'mma spend all mah time down yonder with these Eclipse boxed sets."
That's a really shitty way to think about other people. They're adults, which means they have very likely gone through many life experiences that have shaped their identity. They are now comfortable enough to express their fashion without caring about how other people might shame them (people like you apparently). Creative people often express themselves in eccentric ways, which is something to be celebrated not shunned.
Sometimes I roleplay being in the Criterion Closet at home. I pick Barry Lyndon every time.
You surprise me! ;-)
Lol
I pick 7 dvd copies of Marriage Story to really ignite the comments
I’d pick F for Fake and a Day For Night
I pick Tampopo cuz almost no one picks Tampopo and it is a DELIGHT.

The Red Shoes is supposed to come out in December.
I love what she said at the end, about how the timing of seeing a movie can affect how you react to the movie. It's so true!
How so?

Just bought that a week ago and still waiting for it. It's one of those "HYPED GOTTA-SEE" I keep hearing off but never saw it.
@@van8ryan lower your expectations. It's probably going to catch you off guard
when they have made 100 of these closet videos they should release them all as a criterion blu ray box
would buy
I also would buy.
Glad to see them pick a kieslowski's work other than dekalog. I love double life of veronique
Saw Double Life of Veronique on the thumbnail, clicked immediately.
1:36 what good blocking lmao
Two personal favourites; Veronique and In the Mood... nice!
Double Life . . . yeah, they nailed that one for sure.
at some point a long time ago I heard these two talk about Three Women (probably on this channel) and I had to find it and watch it, and I was not disappointed. Now I always associate them with that movie
same! watched it after seeing their video and it's now one of my top 5 favorite movies

Great Noir film and a great relationship drama/thriller.

Gloria Grahame. Absolutely Heartbreaking 💔
What a couple of babes
💜💜💜 love them and all of their picks are absolute gold!! I was smiling like mad all the way through
Need to watch everything in this closet. That's my plan!! :)
Unfortunately the cosset vlog was cut short, appologies for that.
Happy we got some more huge John Waters fans.
I have no idea who these two ladies are, but they have damn fine taste in movies.
Great taste ladies!
BTW You just KNOW Kate loved _The Red Shoes!_
release the lulu wang closet vid!!!
love rodarte and love this!!!
Great video, and yet somehow the audio has gotten worse!!
Love their choices!
Want to see Pink Flamingos in the collection 😂
"You see things at the right point of your life"
please do closet picks with Celine Sciamma
Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes.
I have to check out some of these films that i havent seen. They have good taste from another video they did lead me to seeing 3 women

I want to see paul thomas anderson or quarantine Tarantino in the next video
I'd need a shopping trolley if I was in that closet
I have actually seen most of these picks 😁
The Rodarte sisters are the kind of women friends I DREAM of having but can’t ever find.
Just let me fill in my Fellini and Kubrick collection.
RED, BLUE dir. Krzysztof Kieślowsk
Love the closet videos, but c'mon criterion......invest in some LAV mics
Woodshock deserves to be in Criterion’s label. 🙏🏻❤️
Lol hell no. Woodshock was ass.
Genie: I grant you three wishes
Me: Me in the Closet, David Lynch in the closet, and Keanu Reeves after him
Fuck that, put them both in at the same time.
Guys please bring more John Waters to the collection !
ME: What the hell are these 2 fashionistas doing in the Closet?!
*Laura immediately selects VIDEODROME*
ALSO ME: Nevermind. Please continue.
The coolest
Definitely some great talking points in this video...but did anyone else's anxiety well up every time they shook a movie case? 😅
ngl i thought theyd pick the bitter tears of petra von kant
Fellow Americans......... -Brittney
For once I would like to see cinephiles pick different movies, everybody picks the same thing now! Lol
Well, I have to make an amazing film first, but when I get my chance I shall do just that.

2:00 2:16 what's with the blonde one mouthing with the other one is saying? weirdness...
Sisters was garbage. De Palma or not, that crap wasn’t worthy of being in my collection.
upload more of these kind of videos
They have wonderful personalities and a terrific taste in movies, but those blouses... woof.

Very glad you mentioned who these chicks are, because I had no clue.
they'll let ANYBODY in now, mate.
Who are these people?
Thank you, I'm not the only one who asked this question when I saw this video lol
I’d say they had a few cocktails before, and did each other’s makeup. They are ‘like soooooo girly.’
They are fashion designers, whose love of film has influenced them greatly....both sisters..think they even directed one
Google
Why?
Meow
I don't get the point in letting these two in here. Woodshock was a total dumpster fire.
Just checked, they made a swan dress or something.
Transgender? More makeup actually makes women look like men. But hey, paint some more on honey.
