I can apply seriously thick and hearty PVC edge banding finally. Glue application is adjustable, but not much glue is needed if a quality glue is used.
I just got mine hooked up and dialed in... takes a little practice, but already can see it does a great job. Thanks for the info - their manual could use some help for sure, but their customer service is great. Video chatted with 2 guys that helped with some minor issues.
I like mine for sure. If you don't want to spend $10,000 it's a pretty decent alternative. I like I can use tapes that can't get heated up (PVC). It's light years ahead of iron on or pressure tapes.
how is the clean up ? Only thing that has me apprehensive of a glue pot machine ... i do enough to justify some type of bander , but i dont want to speed up banding, but then spend another hour cleaning burnt glue out of a pot and roller. thanks ! interested in your thoughts on it
So far I haven't needed to clean my pot or roller at all. It dries pretty quickly and just remelts when you turn it back on. I leave everything in place as is. It was a tough pill to swallow buying it, but it was one of those buys I was giddy about afterwards.
@@OldGuyWoodworks im leaning towards the trimmer first . once i get going its pretty fast with the iron. Not quite as fast as this but i could get by.The real time suck for me is trimming and scraping.thanks for your input👍🏻

Just got mine a couple days ago. I have no complaints. Wish I would of bought one years ago.
Way better than silly iron on and the old heater roller thing I had. Makes me feel almost professional. Thanks for watching.
Great value! At less than $4k for the two it really speeds up the process!! Plus 2 year warranty, great service help.
I agree.
I like your style of woodworking. I hope you start posting more project videos.
That's the plan!
Thank you for the review, I am considering buying them as well. How does it do with 2mm edge banding?
I’ve only used it with 1mm. I wouldn’t be afraid to use it on 2mm though.
Thanks man I have this machine it's great and pretty easy but the trimming adjustment is much more difficult for me.any tips on that?
Sorry I don't. It can be tricky sometimes.
will it work well with wood edgebanding? Ive only seen videos with PVC.
I haven't tried it on wood banding yet. I will try as soon as I am able and get back to you.
I tried with wood and it worked fine. Wood banding is a little stiffer to deal with, but it did okay.
@@OldGuyWoodworks thank you. I just ordered one. arriving today.
Could you please tell where you bought the wood veneer for the edge bander@@OldGuyWoodworks
@ if I remember correctly, it was edgebanding.com.

id be getting the edgebander more for the expanded capabilities of thicker edgebanding or more variety . the time saving would be a bonus
Nothing like a guy and his new toys, how giddy do we get.
Especially when it exceeds expectations. Thanks for watching.
Outstanding video. Are you still impressed with Maksiwa edge bander and trimmer? I found your vid as I am considering a sliding table saw from them.
It still does a great job. Maybe time will change that, but so far so good. Thanks for watching.
Great machine !! I love it !!
Me too!
Is this better than festool
Haven't tried Festool's bander so I couldn't give an opinion.
Where did you get the white edgebanding?
If I remember correctly I got it at edgebanding.com or at my supplier in Santa Ana, CA
Where did you get your hot melt, stuff is expensive
Yes it is. I think I got it at www.westlunddistributing.com or maybe Amazon at amzn.to/32I3mSH.
Any reviews on the Maksiwa Titanium Automatic
Unfortunately, no. Just a bit out of my price range. Never have actually seen one.
You must have a lot of steady work to justify this purchase
Not so much, but I love to buy tools. Thanks for watching.
