Maksiwa Edge Bander and Trimmer - Review and Assembly

- The Maksiwa Edge Bander and Trimmer has vastly increased my productivity and quality of my edge banding process. Assembly and overview of the Maksiwa Edge Bander and Edge Trimmer recently purchased and assembled for a custom kitchen cabinet build. I am able to apply 1 mil thick PVC edge banding which is far more sturdy that my previous edge banding. Cabinets were made on my home made cnc router. I was disappointed with the iron edge banding hardiness and stability. This bander has taken me to the next level.

I can apply seriously thick and hearty PVC edge banding finally. Glue application is adjustable, but not much glue is needed if a quality glue is used.

I just got mine hooked up and dialed in... takes a little practice, but already can see it does a great job. Thanks for the info - their manual could use some help for sure, but their customer service is great. Video chatted with 2 guys that helped with some minor issues.
I like mine for sure. If you don't want to spend $10,000 it's a pretty decent alternative. I like I can use tapes that can't get heated up (PVC). It's light years ahead of iron on or pressure tapes.
Just got mine a couple days ago. I have no complaints. Wish I would of bought one years ago.

I’ve only used it with 1mm. I wouldn’t be afraid to use it on 2mm though.
Thanks man I have this machine it's great and pretty easy but the trimming adjustment is much more difficult for me.any tips on that?

will it work well with wood edgebanding? Ive only seen videos with PVC.
I haven't tried it on wood banding yet. I will try as soon as I am able and get back to you.
I tried with wood and it worked fine. Wood banding is a little stiffer to deal with, but it did okay.

how is the clean up ? Only thing that has me apprehensive of a glue pot machine ... i do enough to justify some type of bander , but i dont want to speed up banding, but then spend another hour cleaning burnt glue out of a pot and roller. thanks ! interested in your thoughts on it
So far I haven't needed to clean my pot or roller at all. It dries pretty quickly and just remelts when you turn it back on. I leave everything in place as is. It was a tough pill to swallow buying it, but it was one of those buys I was giddy about afterwards.
@@OldGuyWoodworks im leaning towards the trimmer first . once i get going its pretty fast with the iron. Not quite as fast as this but i could get by.The real time suck for me is trimming and scraping.thanks for your input👍🏻
id be getting the edgebander more for the expanded capabilities of thicker edgebanding or more variety . the time saving would be a bonus

Haven't tried Festool's bander so I couldn't give an opinion.

Unfortunately, no. Just a bit out of my price range. Never have actually seen one.
Where did you get the white edgebanding?
