Thank you for doing this test! I've wasted quite a bit of money on numerous so-called 'super' glues that end up in my trash can soon after their first use. I've always been a fan of Loctite products, and will likely continue to use their different formulas for lighter bonding situations - but I've just placed an order for the J-B Super Weld, can't wait to test it out. (Just in time for those holiday projects too!)
Thanks again, I really enjoy your channel. 😊

Very interesting. Thanks for showing this glue experiment with me. It is good to know this information because when ur at the store and need a glue. There is so many choices for what you need to do. Thanks for breaking it down for me

I've been learning some major new hacks from Inventor 101's YT channel. His short videos are wordless--all you see are his hands as he points to tools and substances then combines them to create something amazingly useful or delightfully fun. He shows you how to use liquid (not gel) superglue + various powders (baking soda, cinnamon, graphite from a lead pencil) to create a matrix that cures instantly and makes an incredibly strong bond. I've been adapting his principles to all sorts of projects and repairs, and it's like having a superpower.

I have seen some of the videos were they add graphite or backing soda to the super glue but I haven't tried it. Thanks for sharing. It's good to hear that it works in real life situations. 🙂

@@UpcycleDesignLab The graphite is an amazing strengthening ingredient when combined with baking soda. I used it to fix a cheap plastic rake from DollarTree, and it was superstrong after that! The only problem was I thought the baking soda would dissolve flat, but the lumps solidify as is--so it looked like rotting zombie flesh. Live and learn, huh?
He also shows how to make a spring with wire and a low-speed drill, and it got me to thinking (uh-oh...!). Could this can be adapted to your rolled beads, like applying them over a spring on a drill? Depending on the length of a drill bit, it could make a flexible beaded component to attach larger things. You could even put a small-diameter dowel into the drill chuck and build things using that principle.

You beat me to with the comment about baking soda and graphite.

@@cheesedoff-with4410 Yeah, that stuff is like liquid steel! The collar that held that cheesy rake on the pole had a chunk missing so it didn't clasp all the way around. But the graphite bond was like Superman bridging the gap to keep the train on the broken tracks!

I used JB super weld to glue a metal key to it's plastic key fob. Worked fantastic. There was a good 1/8 inch gap, that I used this glue to fill. So, it's a glue and a clear filler as well. It's a game changer for me, because of it's characteristics, especially with it's almost nonexistent cure time.
Also, just this evening, I used it to reattach a windshield washer nozzle to it's input nipple.

The only problem with the JB weld is that it won’t work if the light can’t penetrate it. Your glue has to always be either on the outside or where at least one side where light will penetrate.
I like those two part five minute epoxies. I don’t use them often but they will fill, grab quickly, and be fully cured in at least 24 hours.
Finally here is an E6000 tip that I swear I found on the package but have never seen again. Put glue on both surfaces (rough up the surface if you can) touch them together and then pull them apart wait about 20 seconds and put them together again. The one caveat is that it won’t be a nice thin joint. It might a a little more like hot glue. I just put it on one side and put them together, but that is more about conserving glue because I’m cheap.

Hi I haven't tested it in outdoor conditions but my guess is it might not hold up that well. The package doesn't indicate that it is for outdoor use.

the JB weld looks like regulate UV epoxy I frequently use it as glue on jewelry , do be careful getting it on your hands, can get a reaction. I like the 2 part epoxy also, except for the smell...lol

That works like UV Resin, it cures instantly with the blue UV light at the end of the cap... Super glue won't work that way it takes longer to cure plus it can get a little brittle... The UV Glue doesn't because it's not a super glue... I always use UV resin because it has a little flex with thin layers... They call UV resin a glue to, so that is what your JB Weld is, it's not a true super glue... But I like the video... Now I know there is another UV resin in a pin form out there... Thanks...
