    I have this bar with a lg c2 in my living room. Just got it about a month ago for the new house we moved into. It’s connected with an audio quest cinnamon 48 hdmi cable. It’s had problems pretty much since day 2. We always have to unplug the bar and re plug it to get it to work because it constantly looses sound. I’m pretty tech savy and know how to connect set up calibrate ect ect. I also have in my bedroom a Bravia a80L with the ht-a3000 also paired with rear speakers and a sub and have not had any issues at all with the sound like with the lg. and we actually have 2 of the Sony Bravia set ups in 2 different rooms with the same sound bars and no issues. Was considering also getting rear speakers from lg to pair with the lg sound bar and now I’m considering just replacing the entire lg c2 and gx sound bar because the constant disconnecting is really something that has been getting on our last nerve. Tried a lot of different things to get it to work. Any other advice? It will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Great vid btw.

      yeah no this is definitely not an Ideal situation, have you reached out to lg about possibly getting it replaced under warranty. Soundbars like this are tested and shouldnt have those issues out of the box so if they do they could be deffective. I would also try messing around with the PCM HDMI settings and see if that fixes anything. Good luck and let me know how it goes! Also nice choice on the cable!

      @@WaltsTV yes this is not an ideal situation. It really sucks tbh. lol. And I pretty much tried everything with this bar, as far as settings I’ve tried it all. Can’t update firmware, there’s no support for it on any app. Lg says it’s a discontinued bar but I haven’t checked about a replacement under warranty. I even went as far as getting an entire new cable another audio quest but this one is a chocolate 48. Even tried using some of my older ones like the forest and ocean 48 and a bunch of other generic ones I have around like the ones it came with out the box but still same exact issues with the eARC constantly disconnecting itself and dropping the sound. It’s a real pain since it’s all mounted on a Marble wall so just imagine the struggle just to disconnect it each time. It normally happens about 1-2 times a day which is insane. However I did more digging and I’m not the only one with this problem with this sound bar. Gonna contact lg and check out about a warranty replacement. Thanks for the info/advice, and yes I do like to have my good cables with my equipment lol.

    I don't have free hdmi for soundbar. Only option is optical. With optical would i have to turn it on manually everytime?

    • @WaltsTV
      @WaltsTV  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No but adjusting volume you will most likely need the soundbar remote. if its an lg tv with optical it might work with either remote but I cant guarantee that.

    I am having lg g3 77" worst sounding TV i have ever used. Earlier used C8,C9 and C1 65" still in a different room.
    What is your recommendation. Shall i go with GX series or LG SP8A which is highly affordable and great sounding soundbar. Personally experienced at friends home.

      @@WaltsTV see g3 is the great tv in terms of picture quality but due to its slim design they compromise on sound output. Soundbat GX is also sleek design i assume the drivers are not good enough to sound well than SP8A.

      Get the HW-Q990c. Its one if not the best bang for the buck sound system you can get atm (if not going modular). LG's sound systems are really really mediocre.

    Can you place this soundbar flat, not wall mounted or on its inclined stand?.. Just flat on the furniture?

      Yes you can! However that wouldn't be the best way to listen to the music because then it would be pointed at the ceiling.

    Would I be able to fit four HDMI cables and the power cable behind the soundbar so I’ve just got a LG77G3 and I’m thinking about getting this soundbar my cables are not in the wall they will be covered with trunking so they will drop down from the middle of the tv and would need to go behind the soundbar

    • @WaltsTV
      @WaltsTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      Behind it no, you would want to run them through the wall. If you plan on concealing them it should be fine but you might have to mess with it to get it to look clean.

    Nice review. One important thing to note is that this soundbar comes with a large external power supply which makes wall mounting really difficult, not sure that personally I would be comfortable burying that in the wall either. So for me, I now need to somehow hide a power supply that is more than an inch thick behind my flat to the wall capable LG G3 OLED which it turn means that I can no longer use the supplied wall mount for the TV either. I don't understand why LG could not power the soundbar from the TV with an AC output, would have been a much better solution. Upon reflection, I wish that I had just gone with Sonos now.

    • @WaltsTV
      @WaltsTV  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This is a good point, Personally I think the easiest would be to wall mount with a little space from the wall and tuck the power supply into the tv mount and have it flush with the tv. or have an entertainment center right below the mounted bar as close to it as possible so that you can avoid the brick in the wall, cause yes that would not be up to code.

    • @stephencollins7714
      @stephencollins7714 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@WaltsTV many thanks for the response and the helpful ideas. Unfortunately mine is being mounted over a fireplace so my only option as you say is to lose the power supply into or around the TV mount. I hope that LG come up with a better solution going forward such as powering the soundbar from the TV for example or finding a way to hide the power brick behind the soundbar by making it much more compact if they are not able to build it in.

      How long out along the cord is the bulky power supply box from the soundbar itself? Could there be enough length to go through a wall into a closet behind, in cases where that's an option?

    • @stephencollins7714
      @stephencollins7714 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ESBertrand0 mine is tucked up behind the TV now so I cannot measure it but I would estimate around a metre (just over 3 feet), maybe a little more. I think your plan would work well.

    In my experience the LGGX is not as good a sound as that from the LG OLED 65G26LA TV Inspite of upgrading the eArc HDMI cable. The optical is no better. The bluetooth sync seldom works and needs a hard power of boot to reset it. The LG app for Iphone to enhance the sound does not work and has 142 1 Star ratings stating it does not work and after 1 year LG have not improved it. Even feeding sound in directly via a USB connection it still fails to please and the USB input is temperamental and needs a reset to get it working. I have persevered for 12 months with it but feel i must now return it. Don't be fooled in the shop demonstration by them putting the TV sound on low and the sound bar high to make it look better. This just my personal opinion.😬

    Your comparison between bad sound good video and vice versa was kind of stupid. Watching movies isn't the same as watching a review or someone speaking about details we want to know.
    Also the audio part of the video was almost pointless. With respect this seems like nothing but an advert for LG as you talk about design and how it will look over and over and again.
    All constructive

      Sound portion is to really emphasize that you wont be happy with base level tv audio. Also trying to show how audio plays a bigger role in things then you think. But yes I dont usually include that portion any more.
