முதன் முதலாக தமிழ் சினிமாவில் நான் உணர்ந்த பெரிய மாற்றம் புலன் விசாரனை
ஹானஸ்ட்ராஜ் காதபத்திரம் (வி.காந்த் படத்திலேயே எனக்கு பிடித்த படம் 2 மட்டும்தான்) திருவான்மியுர் சங்கர் வீட்டின் ஜீப் முலம் கதவை உடைத்து கொண்டு போய் சுவற்றை உடைத்து அதில் இருந்து விழம் பிணங்கள் மழை பேக்கிரவுண்ட் ராஜா மீயுசிக் அதற்க்கு பிறகு இப்படி ஒரு காட்சியை நான் எந்த படத்திலும் பார்த்தது இல்லை அந்த காலகட்டம் எல்லாம் நடிகருக்காகதான் மக்கள் கூட்டம் வரும் ஆனால் நான் எல்லாம் டைரக்டரை வைத்து தான் படத்தை மதிப்பிடுவேன் எனவே அப்போதே செல்வமணி சார் தான் என் ஹிரோ
இந்த பேட்டியை முழுதும் பார்க்கும் போது செல்வமணி மண ரிதியாக எவ்வளவு சிரமம் பட்டு இருக்கிறார் என்பதை பார்க்கும் போது இன்னும் அவர் மீது மரியாதை கூடுகிறது

என்ன தான் சொன்னாலும் சரி ஒரு புதிய இயக்குனருக்கு இவ்ளோ ஸ்பேஸ் கொடுத்து பெரிய பட்ஜெட் செலவு பண்ணி மனத்தாக்கம் இருந்தும்கூட சொன்னபடி நடித்து கொடுத்து .. அந்த காலத்தில் விஜியை தவிர வேறு யாரும் இவ்வளவு துணிந்திருக்க மாட்டார்கள் .முதல் படம் என்பது ஒரு கலைஞனுக்கு இரண்டாம் பிறப்பு .செல்வமணி அதற்காக நன்றி உள்ளவர் ஆக இருப்பார் என்று நினைக்கிறேன்
