Ways to use Petroleum Jelly for skincare - Dr. Aruna Prasad

Petroleum jelly is widely used in skin care and it is really good and I would like to give it for very dry skin but at the end of the day it is a mineral oil and it has its own side effects. What it does is it forms its skin barrier. So it forms a layer on the skin when you apply to because of its thickness and its oiliness, prevents the skin becoming extremely dry. So it is very good in extreme winters, and people with extreme dryness. There are some case studies on long term usage of petroleum jelly leading to carcinogenic. But as in Indians it is very rare as we are genetically protected with increased melanin pigmentation in our skin. So I would suggest petroleum jelly is good for skin care.
