Hehehe that's why when I see gammbits and weird traps going to happen that I dont know the counter moves I always try to take the game out of preparation and if the player is not better than me the game results in a fair game.
Very much so he plays with the spirit that a new player has when they're really smart and they feel like they can outsmart everyone else instead of playing positionally and then soon realize that a lot of counterintuitive things happen to be true in chess and a far less intelligent person with a little studying or some experience can defeat you
@@XxxXxx-br7eq except there's nothing counterintuitive about chess. Yup, Dubov, though a magician, is more cautious and create more prep move (so the attack is not instant but building up) while Tal is just straight up maniac.
its all woke kind of fancy feel good millennial talk n all but Tal did play like this all the time and all chess GMs have studied all past games including Dubov... and it helps GMs to know what works and what doesn't... that is why it is Tal reborn....
I don't think I've ever seen a more inspired current player than Dubov. His fast-paced attacking is fun to watch and his stoic style shows just how much command of the board he really has. None the wiser, you'll thank him for a perceived blunder then step into the trap he lays right in front of you! This is just awesome chess!
On bishop captures, it actually wasn't a completely new game. It was played before by Dubov earlier this year (in August) against Matlakov (2671 rated), where he played much of the same line even continuing, and won that game. Another game was between Viktor Kiss and Imre Fancsy, but that was in 2013 by two 2200-2300 players.
Every time there's a Dubov recap there's usually brilliance and then consistent respect and accolades in the comments and references to how much Magnus draws from him etc. With the greatest respect to the man I would be grateful of any insight as to why he isn't ranked even higher than he is. Many thanks.
I started following this game as the second of the two pawns sacrificed in succession. Dubov on 7+ minutes, Anish on less than 2 minutes. "This looks like a good game."
Yeeesh ! This guy is incredible, what a crazy offence, looks like he is throwing the game but he is just walking his opponent down a blind path off a cliff.
Wow. That was fantastic. So fun to watch the futility of white being hunted by an attacking dubov. No time to breathe. Beautiful. I will love watching again.
@3:30 can somebody tell me how Black is breaking through if white plays fxe5 instead of dxe5? Because with fxe5, we have the e3 bishop controlling a key diagonal, preventing the queen from accessing it. Let's say black continues: 1. ... Qh4+ then 2. Kg1 next move the white queen is coming to f1 to help out with defence
The player against who a lot of grandmasters have their best game of the year or tournament is Anish Giri. like Mamedyarov, Sarin, Duda .... in the past and now Dubov. Is this just a coincidence? It seems like Anish turns out to be the "Wonderwall" for quite a lot of players. It should be something about Anish's playstyle.
In a world of positional play and theories dubov is stand out different. He's so creative. He's definitely new tal of our generation.
He truly makes modern chess exciting!
My favorite player! I liked nepo too for his unpredictability for a while also!
Miaoyi Lu though
Isn't Ivanchuk the 2nd Tal?
@@amjan I think Ivanchuk is whatever Ivanchuk is- maybe tautological but I think anyone who knows what I mean knows what I mean 😂
Dubov's rook lifts are so strong. He develops his rooks like an opening move.
by sacking his pawns, lol
he did the rook lift vs nihal as well and that game too was awesome.
@@mohitwanjare7951 ya that an insane game
love this joke ;)
No matter the outcome, watching dubov play is always incredible. By far my favorite chess player since i discovered him
Mamedyarov is pretty great too
Me too
same! almost like tal and and a machine had a baby and its dubov
Same here
Rapport is also very enjoyable, so creative.
Anish walked straight into preparation lol
He wanted to refute the gambit

Exactly
Playing for the draw does that lol

Dubov always playing for the crowd..
So did Tal.
The way he plays is inspiring

Yes! more Dubov, love the games this dude plays
Dubov is not 2nd Tal. He is the 1st Dubov.🙂
To‘g‘ri
You right mate
Yup, Dubov, though a magician, is more cautious and create more prep move (so the attack is not instant but building up) while Tal is just straight up maniac.

Dubov is my fav player. Just pure, brutal poetry
In Dubov we trust
Dubov and rapid time format is just the perfect mix for a masterpiece. Yet ironically he said that he hated rapid 😆
i love dubov, this is why. he always comes up with brilliant attacks.
because you love him?
@@redachekroune lol
😂😂😂
Dubov makes me stand up and give my ovation.
One of the best games of the year or even best. Such a precise, brutal and inventive attacking joy 👏👏👏
king getting tortured really.

We already knew, Agad, we already knew. Thank you for bringing yet another masterpiece from The Magician from Moscow!
Dubov's opening ideas are phenomenal. Magnus gets most of his opening ideas in world Championship from him.
He gets most of his (bad) opening ideas in world championship from him. But once in a while he can strike gold
Wow what a game, Dubov's played really well in this tournament
Dubov playing like Tal with sacrifice something when the position is still equal. 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Dubov deserves a Morphy head + a Tal smile for this game ! What a genius, my god...
Dubov is my favorite active player. Had not heard much from him lately but he has had two spectacular attacks in this tournament.
What a game, what a title...couldn't stop myself from re-watching this again
"Good game, Anish. Now if you'll excuse me I have some one handed pull-ups to do."
Dubov is another level and makes sure that chess is not just memory, theory and positional.
Well of course sacing pawns for an attack is a positional idea
Read the top quote of this video from probably the best player in the world. Chess isn’t just memory theory or positional already. Not good chess
Dubov is the love child of Tal and Stockfish. Truly a merman
Talented young start ,he brings tal's memories in his games

What a game !
That attack and the king hunt were spectacular.
Dubov is a genius.
Holy crap! That was a savage masterpiece by Dubov.
Dubov is my favorite modern chess player by far.
The hero appears again. Famous Luka This is always there for us. Marvelous.
Just watching him create such madness is a treat to eyes and food for thought.
dubov with a monstrous attack. his bishops were a nightmare once the position opened up.

I get a real military feel from Dubov's attack-The Zen Art of Chess.
greatest. I just love his games
The attack with queen, bishop pair and rook was a beauty

love that dubov is finally back
Dubov always get rid of his pawns so he can play game in peace and without obstacles
I started following this game as the second of the two pawns sacrificed in succession. Dubov on 7+ minutes, Anish on less than 2 minutes. "This looks like a good game."
That was beautiful by Dubov. I had to watch the whole video again because it was just so beautiful.
Anish the Theoretician vs Dubov the Creative
This game proves that every so often, it's okay to just wing it instead of preparing for every scenario
Gorgeous attack. Tal would smile that smile and light up a smoke!
Fantastic player. He has world champion skill and creativity, this is why I've always wished he would be more consistent
it's not just about loose or win. it's art and entertain. always waiting for Dubov's game.
Amazing stuff. I always love to see Dobuv play
Absolute masterpiece.
Here early for what I’m sure will be a banger of a video
Yess.He is modern tal
Thank you for the video!
All hats off to do-be-do-be-Dubov! 😁
Yeeesh ! This guy is incredible, what a crazy offence, looks like he is throwing the game but he is just walking his opponent down a blind path off a cliff.
Love Dubov style of play. So courageous and risky and beautiful style
I really hope we will get to see more Dubov!
Those white rooks didn't move a single square the whole game!
They were absolutely rook-stuck.
Incredible. Anish never even moved his rooks.
What a brilliant game by Dubov!
When the engine Tal shows up. You do not argue.
I can’t wait for the Dubov saga some day. He’s so incredible to watch.
was a great start for both players
Such spectacular attack with top commentating had to be watched twice
danil dubov is just straight risk taker. His style of play is so different from the others
Dubov was like a run away train that couldn't be stopped. Great game.
Agad really said Engine Tal. Definitely no one can defeat engine Tal
That was marvelous!!
goosebump!
What a treat of a game

Incredible game! A masterpiece and engine Tal indeed! Totally Dubovian!
I can't believe Giri never moved a rook! You just can't expect to win that way.
That was such a spectacular attack
Beautiful peace of art !
What a game! Hunting king like this of a super GM is simply amazing
You forgot to say "as there is nothing more to be done here"

"Engine Tal isn't real, he can't hurt you"
Engine Tal:
1:14 True Dubovian move❤️
At 4:29, Stockfish 14+ at Depth 28 (lichess analysis board), gives Qd5 as best move but immediately gives black advantage after that move.
"He played like Tal, like engine Tal"
This was a ducking banger game. Like damn. That’s the good stuff
Dude ended the whole tournament without losing a single match!! In Dubov we smile..
What a game to play at the top level! Amaze
