Agreed on Harley Quinn. She actually is a good character on her own. I never watched suicide squad but I do recommend assault on Arkham it's a great animated suicide squad movie made before the motion picture failure.
She and the Joker were the only good things about Suicide Squad.

I think Captain America Civil War did a fantastic job illustrating the dichotomy of values between Rogers and Stark. The classic Agency vs Security argument was very well shown.
The newer Harley Quinn comics are kinda like the DC answer to Deadpool. Actually a good read :)

Im new to Ben Shapiro; i've only recently heard of him and love what he has to say and his logic breakdown. I never thought he would ever talk about comics also-- this is too amazing. He hits a lot of the issues I see with Marvel comics and I'm glad to see people are there are fighting Marvel's "diversify" strategy by closing their wallets.

Excellently put Ben. I think the Marvel movies are actually doing a better job at diversity. They're not changing the race and gender of the characters they're adding new ones like Black Panther, Falcon, War Machine, etc. I'm happy to find another Conservative Comic book reader that's not called racist or homophobic for just wanting to see the best and original versions of the characters. Plus Team Cap, the conservative, anti big government team, won.

Been saying it for years. Make new characters great, not change characters people like. It shows a failure of imagination on the part of everyone involved that they can't create anything compelling that didn't already have a base.
I gave up on Superheroes quite sometime ago. There is a vast world of comics that are far more substantial and intellectually stimulating than superheroes.

Ben, just slow down and talk smoothly for once. This isn't a debate where you're trying to pack as many points as you can into a 1 minute time frame. Having a good speaking style is almost as important as what you're saying, especially as a high profile speaker.

I think the biggest problem people have with Alex is that he is a godly man and uses spiritual metaphors. people conflate his comments like "literally a demon" to mean he believes in some allegorical religious depiction of demons, when in reality when *he says things like demons or goblins, he is simply referring to negative energy and people that seek and channel negative energy.
I'm not sure of a single thing that Alex has been wrong about.
There are only things Alex says that haven't come to pass... yet.

I did not know that Ben read Miles Morales Spiderman. I would argue that what happened with Batman was pretty harmless as it only happened in an annual issue. The issue with comics now is not things like what is happening with Iron Man and Thor, Female Thor isn't even a bad book. The problem is literally the overuse of the regressive left ideals combined with bad writing, there is no room for discussion with complex issues. This is why ironically one of the best books Marvel has is Steve Rogers as an agent of HYDRA.

Ben, it is truly an honor & a blessing to watch you fulfilling God's prophecy for you. I honestly wish I knew what God wants me to do with my life. Other than motherhood, I feel like I have failed him... God. I have not done a good job teaching my child to have a strong faith in God. Mainly, that is due to a period in my life where I was angry with God when my whole life changed DRASTICALLY due to a chronic illness. Any advice to help guide my 16 yr old son would be greatly appreciated.

Political correctness in US comics (although with different aim) is nothing new, the Comics Code was active from 1954.
Japanese comics on the other hand were never limited in this regard, and became more diverse as a consequence.
The ironic part is that looking at this market shows us that people will happily buy comics that contain a fair amount of gender confusion (e.g. the classic Ranma ½),
if it's for the purpose of entertainment, rather than forced diversity.

A large majority of people don't care about there being diversity in movies, comics and any other type of media. People care when it's constantly rammed down your throat with movie after movie and commercial after commercial. Once you start forcing it onto people, they get pissed off and stop buying your product.

Miles Morales isn't a character. You can ask people what qualities about him make him a memorable, likeable character and the first thing they'll say is he is black spiderman, then stammer to add anything concrete to that.
Some things work like miles morales, black panther, gwenpool, spiderwoman, and she hulk because they fit in but then theres stupid shit like "lets make this billionare ceo a female even tho it doesn't go well with the story"

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but that seems to reveal some of their mindset. A single character can't be diverse. You need a group of characters, all with many varied traits, to be diverse. The Justice League or Avengers can be (and are) diverse, because they have a wide variety of characters.
Diversity has long since stopped including diversity of thought to them, but it seems that for this guy, diversity has stopped meaning... y'know... diversity. The word has lost all meaning, and is now just a mantra for their ideaology.

It's not only comics that try shoving social justice down your throat it so many TV shows that I stopped watching because there now has to be a gay character, a trans, etc. and the show is a lesson on how we should treat them and how to act around them. Try watching an SVU show without throwing up on the actual "message". I don't care if there is a gay character in a show but in every show on tv now with everyone having to be represented. The news has sucked for years now TV sucks.
