The room looks beautiful Angela. I have the same problem in my house. We have sun all day, they only part of our house that doesn't get sun is the left side and it gets hot. I went to Home Depot and purchased Levolor blackout shades. They have full blackout or semi blackout. I got the full blackout for the bedrooms and living room. I got the semi blackout for my dining room and kitchen because I didn't want the rooms so dark during the day. When I have the ac running I close the shades and it makes a huge difference. Try and get them for one room that gets hot and see if you like them.
They can always order anything for you that is not in stock and ship to your house (or to the store for free). My whole craft room is white, but my favorite color is gray...:) Just saw the end results - beautiful!

Instead of cabinets you should have gotten the ikea dressers that are mountable. It better for storage because you can pull out each draw and they are pretty deep and wide. Cabinets open and close and you have to blend down and look through your things for what you looking for. With drawers you can label each.
I have learned that before you go to multiple stores, checks sites and apps. See what they have. Sometimes you need to order. I completely understand the instant gratification of wanting it all that day though. Lol
Now that is something I never would have thought to do! I moved into a 3 brd house 2 years ago, the front two are connected via a closet so those two are my craft rooms but the first one is also my snake room (another hobby lol). I have my desk and cricut in here then all my other craft things are stuffed in the first room because it's got lots of windows and light. Embroidery machine (just a pathfinder, no multi-needle *yet*), sewing machines, polymer clay and tons of things to be use with it, fabric, vinyl..ugh! I have a big room in the basement I could use as a craft room but I need to be near my snakes, it's a comfort thing. My poor cats hardly see me as it is as I keep them mostly shut out of these two rooms due to cat hair and all. lol Drawers I could easily fill, what sort of things are you planning to store in the cabinets?
Your cabinets looks amazing Angela!, try to use some hard hiking boots or better yet some workers boots next time you work on moving or assemble furniture, believe me your feet is going to thank you latter. I learned the hard way too. 🤕
