Hello Richard, I indeed imagine finding this cool oasis in the arid outback must feel incredibly lucky and surreal. In any case, you made the place real with your palette knife and I am amazed by your pebbles in the greenish water, the shadow that crosses the pond and makes the water blue again, this imposing rock on the right and more generally, the composition of the scene. Bravo for this beautiful painting.

В природе нет ничего неуместного, всё имеет смыслы и несёт нагрузку времени на будущее... высушеный уровень водоёма позволяет нам увидеть красоту того, что образовалось
под водой и ты волшебно это показываешь.. Показываешь, как камни жаждут воды, покрывшиеся мхом от жары.. скалистые образования дают столько насыщенного цвета, что в отображении пейзажа уместна вся твоя красочная палитра 😃 Каждая высушенная ветвь, каждый камушек - есть отражение театра Вселенной, в которой всё имеет смысл; как притяжение галактик, так и зарождение сверхновых звёзд... и ничто не является напрасным, всё предусмотрено Творцом. Мы знаем, что дважды не зайти в одну реку, ибо в следующий раз она будет другой с иными берегами и новым растительным пейзажем.
И мы знаем точно - Ричард сотворит новую картину...

Hi Richard …… been watching a lot of your programs, enjoying your beautiful paintings. Do you ever do a painting that’s like part pallet knife and part brush? I like the pallet knife effect but it probably uses a lot more paint.
I will probably try it on smaller painting. I really enjoy painting but i’am not in the same league as you…. Ha ha

Loving your values there! That’s one of my favorite knives. The other one is 1/4”x 2 1/2”. I have many, but those two do the most for versatile marks on a big canvas.

Absolute smasher of a painting and video: loved the thoughts with regards to composition/ mark making. Living in the Netherlands (with less expressive landscapes), I'm curious if this technique will work on 'our landscapes' also...
