Peggy I am so sorry you are dealing with Vertigo, please take good care of yourself! Amanda I must knit you another unicorn for poor Lewis...I knew it was unfair to knit only one!!!! I am swooning over the Gotland.....
As always I love seeing what is happening at the mill and with both of you. I am a much better listener when my hands are busy. I knit through church and actually have had our pastor smile on my work. Others think I’m rude but I just smile at them and keep on knitting.
I really like the knit purl girl for wardrobe staples. She thinks a bit more about fit around the bust and designs things to not be so oversized. Her “semper” patterns are great!
I love Chihuly and museum gift shops! The Gotland yarn looked so yummy. It would be great if you could produce some of that in the future! Your sweater is so lovely Amanda, and the Stephen West sweater is fabulous Peggy!
I bring knitting to every meeting, even if it's one-on-one. I keep it to something easy. I also agree with Peggy that museum gift shops are great for finding interesting gifts. The Peabody Essex Museum in Salem is one of my favorites.
I always bring knitting -- especially during meetings/conferences, etc...my on Zoom space for work has a knitting bag nearby. I definitely concentrate better.
When i was teaching,I asked my principal if he minded if I knit at our staff meetings and he said no. That was fine. So I would knit and participate at all our meetings. Your projects are so inspiring
Amanda, your Maude sweater is amazing! It suits you perfectly! I’m not precious with my knits, but I also don’t have small children in my life right now, so I can totally understand why you are. Another designer to check out is Ankestrick. I’m currently making her Armor sweater and it is a really fun knit.
Amanda! Love the pullover you finished and I totally relate to the wonderful feeling of getting to the end of a beautiful garment 😃👏🏼🥰🧶🧶🧶 thanks Peggy and Amanda! Peggy! I agree about museum gift shops! So fun to go through and get little gifts for friends and family
I watched a podcast, some time ago, sorry I forget her name, she said it is the norm in some European countries for folks to knit in meetings. Entire countries getting things done while knitting. No need to move, we just need to change the culture here. Chihuly is fabulous, there was an exhibit at the botanical gardens a few years ago, and it blew me away. Museum in St. Pete on my list of places to visit. I received a beautiful cashmere sweater as a gift and it pilled right away. I was so disappointed, but it is so warm. Live and Learn? Anywho, knitting up a couple Christmas gifts with your GORGEOUS yarn. My first time knitting with it! I'm kicking myself for waiting this long. It's so soft and spongy, and the gradual change in colours is addictive because I keep saying "just one more row". Thanks for sharing. Always a pleasure to spend time with you. ❤
I love museum gift shops too! If you love Chihuly, highly recommend the Chihuly museum in Seattle. I've never worked with Gotland before, but now it is on my radar 😍
I could’ve used 5 more minutes of Millcast this morning too 😂…back to making the kiddo’s breakfast & lunch. A great museum type gift shop that’s a hidden gem next time you’re in the metrowest area is at Garden in the Woods in Framingham! It’s part of the Native Plant Trust. And a potential recommendation for Amanda to check out is My Favourite Things Knitwear. I haven’t knit any of the patterns and can’t offer insight into how they’re written, but they check that wardrobe staple basics box. Cheers!
My fav things is nice, but so many of her patterns are not really size inclusive, and even the top of the range is quite small… the knit purl girl has similar basics in a much wider range!
Amanda for For natural plant dying I reference The Autumn Acorn who plant dyes. She has a few tutorials which include what she uses to dye. And she is local to NH.
Fun fun fun you guys. Love your sweater amanda so beautiful, I find myself when I knit a sweater weather its costly or not I am picky about where I wear it. I think its the time but also the beauty of the project of how and when I wear it. The unicorn was adorable. Could you talk more about different breeds like you did today. I find them so interesting and that I would get a good explanation of the breeds from you guys. Is there book or maybe podcast that talks about different breeds. Thank you guys. ❤😊
I love the Chihuly Museum in St Pete. I bought a Chihuly umbrella in the gift shop and it is one of my best purchases at a museum. I am always happy when it rains so I can use it. There was a Chihuly exhibition at the Biltmore House in Asheville a while back that was so spectacular. All those beautiful glass pieces in the gardens. Amazing! Love the episode and the new knitting plans. Peggy, I don't think it matters how expensive the cashmere sweater is, it is going to pill because of the short fiber of the cashmere.
Hi! I knit at group work meetings where I participate actively, like you mentioned. I have had people say it relaxes them and others give me looks, sometimes I reassure them I am listening so they feel better. Just keep knitting if it is good for you ❤
Amanda-have you made any patterns from the creabea? She has some awesome ones and they often have multiple choices in each pattern, neckline can be easily adjusted etc. Hope your vertigo improves Peggy!
Went to a tour for women at Williamsburg with a friend, and the tour guide (in character) chastised us for not bringing handwork because you are always supposed to keep your hands busy. I almost always have something to do in meetings
I'm less precious with my hand knits because I know they're quality made and will stand up to cleaning and if they don't I know how you repair them because I made them.
I knit in church. Someone said it was like the Rosary...we're Methodists. Very simple "no look" projects. It helps me listen.
👍
Peggy I am so sorry you are dealing with Vertigo, please take good care of yourself!

@@junctionfibermill I kind of like you!

"Just smile...and keep on knitting." A mantra for life!
I really like the knit purl girl for wardrobe staples. She thinks a bit more about fit around the bust and designs things to not be so oversized. Her “semper” patterns are great!
Thanks!
I can understand being protective with the sweater I've been that way too , especially around my girls ❤
❤️
Amanda - Nice work! Ozetta (Hailey Smedley) might be your jam. You two always put a smile on my face.
Thanks!☺️
He has lots of glass at the Makers Mark distillery in Kentucky, Missouri Botanical gardens in St. Louis and Biltmore in Asheville. So awesome.
😎 Cool!
I too have issues with vertigo, I admire you Peggy for doing an episode while dealing with vertigo. So enjoy your Mill Cast,
Thank you so much for your kind words!
I love Chihuly and museum gift shops! The Gotland yarn looked so yummy. It would be great if you could produce some of that in the future! Your sweater is so lovely Amanda, and the Stephen West sweater is fabulous Peggy!
Thanks so much for watching!
I absolutely love your sweater. Style, color, gorgeous.
Thanks so much!
Always look forward to Tuesdays with JFM! Thank you, ladies ☺️🧡 xx from that crazy crocheter in Ohio 😉
Thank you!!!
Thanks Amanda and Peggy. Your sweater is fabulous Amanda. What a lucky son-in-law to get a hand knit sweater made from wool from your sheep.
😊
I bring knitting to every meeting, even if it's one-on-one. I keep it to something easy. I also agree with Peggy that museum gift shops are great for finding interesting gifts. The Peabody Essex Museum in Salem is one of my favorites.
Will have to check it out sometime!
I agree I work on my project during meetings all the time. I bring easy to do projects and it keeps me on track with listening to the message.
😊
Wow, Amanda, that sweater is perfection!! You did an amazing job! Sorry you are dealing with Vertigo, Peggy. I so enjoy your check-ins.
Thanks for watching!

ETA, there is nothing wrong with sticking with a designer you know you love…especially when you have limited knitting time!
❤️

My hometown is St. Petersburg. The Dali Museum is also in St. Pete. Chihuly is awesome. I love the gift shops too.

You guys are really fun!
Aww- thanks!
I recommend Rebecca Clow, aka La CreaBea. She has a great podcast.
Love her!
Gotta make that unicorn 😊
It’s too cute!

It's another great episode. I love the sweater, Amanda. I’m now putting it in my queue. Happy knitting 💚🧶💚
Happy knitting!
There was at New York Botanical Garden, got to see the glass products. It was a marvelous exhibit!!
❤️
I am just in love with the Gotland breed❤ the yarn is stunning❤ love seeing you both

Great tip - thank you!!!
We currently have a Chihuly exhibition in the Adelaide Botanical Gardens, South Australia.
Cool! How was it?

We love the Fleece & Fiber Sourcebook by Deborah Robson & Carol Ekarius - it is chock full of info and pics of the different breeds :)

Good point on the cashmere!

Knitting is good for you!!!
(Chroi cardigan by carol feller is a nice cozy neutral pattern you might like
Thanks!

measure your sweater! and use those numbers for future sweaters... Its beautiful... wool and mohair held together?
Good idea! Yes- it is yarn from my sheep spun here at the mill held with CowgirlBlues KidSilk.
I'm less precious with my hand knits because I know they're quality made and will stand up to cleaning and if they don't I know how you repair them because I made them.
Good point!
What is the name of Amanda’s Ganesy sweater that she is wearing?
Maude Tee by PetiteKnit :)
Sorry Peggy that you were dealing with vertigo during the podcast. I have issues from time to time with it and it is no fun. You handled it well.
Thank you 🙂
not rude
I find some sweaters pill ONCE. You shear off the pills then it will not pill again. I hope this is your experience.
Fingers crossed!
