Bravo Nikon. So happy I switched from Sony A9 II and A7rV about two years ago. My Z9 and Z8 are the best photo/video ‘investments’ I’ve made in the last ten years. No other company (Profoto, Apurture, Sony, Leica, Canon, Godox) has your level of commitment to improve and increase the capacity of their gear after it’s sold. I will say that all the video interface upgrades in 5,1 should quickly be ported over to the Z8 and Z6 III. Many of us use at least two camera angles when recording interviews or events. I.e. A Z9 and some other Nikon. Shutter Angle is great but only if all of my cameras operate the same. Last thing I want to do is mix shutter modes on set.

Perhaps display options for the HDMI like Panasonic does, and more stable touch to focus lets a rigged out cam really live. I'd also say a slightly more tunable ibis for handheld and moving with camera. Changable LUTS or at least add the RED ones for view assist, and Open gate could be good, but I record 8k Nraw anyway so always give myself plenty of space.

Nice new stuff, but as I'm still hoping for Pre-Capture and multiple exposures in RAW, I really don't get how the Z9 still doesn't have Pixel shift and HEIF support, which the Z8 has had for months now.
Finally!🥳🔥 Thank you Nikon, you never promised it but I had faith in that you would one day deliver shutter angle to us that need it for our workflows! Can I be greedy and wish it for the Z6III too? 😂🙏🏾

Can we expect another z8 firmware update? I really wish it had the manual focus with subject detection feature from the lower-end Z6III and Zf models. Please!🙏
Let's say it's a hardware limitation. Would you accept a 24mp version of precapture RAW? In their older DSLRs we were able to choose smaller resolution RAW files. I think it would be a nice setting to bring back.
@@300ShadesofGreen it is not. The z8/z9 pipeline bus has enough bandwitch capacity for it to capture full sized raws on pre- capture. the reason they have not yet done this is unknow and honestly makes no sense. But the cameras certainly have the hardware capacity to do so
Geez you people. The z9 is the flagship of the lineup, it also uses a different firmware version to the z8 and the z6iii so its only natural it gets it first. Obviously these updates will trickle down to the z8 and z6iii as well, with time. I don't see you questioning why the z9 flagship still has not received pixel shift which has been in the z8 for months....
Love it. But still no custom shutter sounds? At least give us some more options, please. F3, D1x, just something that makes this highly engineered piece of gear feel less robotic.
maybe get a brain and stop asking for it when Nikon itself said those cameras already reached the limit of their life regarding updates due to the low processing power of the expeed 6 chips? Astonishing how people keep asking for updates for z5, z6, z6ii and z7ii... those cameras are perfectly workable, had a long life and also had their fair share of firmware updates already.
it will come to the z8 eventually....geez people always asking the same crap over and over. Its only natural that the z9 flagship gets it first and it will eventually trickle down to the z8 and z6iii. For comparison, the z9 still does not have the pixel shift option that you have on the z8
